Ok, all that brain usage last night made me ready to tackle some things today - so, I changed my etsy shop name to one that I like better. It took a bit of thinking, so many were already taken!
THEN.... I went to GoDaddy and registered it as a domain name for 2 years - I even got an email address along with it! I ain't foolin' around sistah!!!!
Of course, there is nothing on either at the moment - but that's ok - the first step is done. Now I'm off to research getting some business cards made...
With God's help I'm going to actually do this. Please Lord, have mercy on me - a newbie in running a small business.... gulp.....
I was just excited so I had to share :)

BTW, please forgive me if I've missed the obvious, but what is your new Etsy Shop name? Or is that something you can't say yet?

I wasn't sure if I could post that because it may be seen as advertising??? I mean, there is nothing there and probably wont be at least for a few weeks while I get everything organized...
I'll post the name, but Karen or another moderator, please remove it if that is a no no!!

Posting the name is fine. I wouldn't even say anything if you posted the link in your signature line. Now if you end up coming on here and posting it in every thread you comment on like you are trying to drive traffic to your site, then I'd say something. It is the blatant promotion of stuff, especially when it is in competition with M* that isn't allowed. That and the spammers and do we ever get some doozies there. Escort services in London, rest homes all over, lawn care in Australia. Really weird selection of spam ...

Good luck Norma. And that's a cute name you picked, almost as hard as choosing a name for an actual baby!!

Thanks for the chuckle, Sandy :)
They used to call me 'abbynormal' in school - seriously.
Good thing I was so productive early this morning, because even though I was ALLLLL excited because my lovely daughter was spending the afternoon with a friend (which meant I didn't have to pick her up from school and could spend the day sewing), my FIL was complaining about pain in his back and difficulty breathing, so my afternoon was spent bringing him to the doc and to the radiologist for an x ray. We just got back (5pm) and now I'm running out to pick up something for dinner and his prescription for pain. I'm wondering if he fell in his room (he's been up alot more at night when everyone is asleep... terrible side perk of dementia) and fractured a rib... he said he didn't fall, but his short term memory is shot so who knows. I am supposed to go to a party tonight - I think not ;)
So Sandy - I will take all of that luck, but more importantly - I covet your prayers ;)

I know this is a sidetrack. Do you have a walker for him? When I was talking care of my aunt it helped so much. At first I think she was indignant. But she was able to get to the bathroom on her own and I even got her to her favorite restaurant a few times.

I don't mind sidetracks ;)
He is very mobile, just a bit unsteady (a combination of things). I don't think I would be able to get him to use a walker right now, but I did put a cane in his room and may try to persuade him to use it.

Hi, Snowbird. Reading the post about your FIL and I will only add this. My MIL fell often (finally died at 92 and I miss her terribly) but she had a cane and hated it, tripped over it, refused to use it, on and on and on. When she got a walker that she could also use to sit on as well as to help her walk with confidence, she did very well. Often a local hospital or senior center has one you can use for a short time to try it out. Good luck and bless you for the care you give. Being a care-giver is a hard job.
