...I don't see that anyone has mentioned this, but this is a terrible tragedy with many dead, wounded and taken hostage.

It's a very scary situation. We must watch and pray that this doesn't get worse than it already is.

I didn't know anything about the attacks in Paris until I saw this thread.... I'm shocked.....when I saw the evacuating soccer fans singing the French national anthem I cried for those people.... What is our world coming to?

The fear here, is thst there will be a similar event in our country.... Soft targets are so vulnerable....no matter where they are...

Prayers for Paris and the world! Such a scary time. Tonight on the news they said the bomb that brought down that Russian plane was in the fuel tank, and now not too long after that Paris!

Sandy, that video of the soccer fans leaving the stadium brought tears to my eyes as well. They will face much more I fear in the days ahead.

Wasn't aware of the terrible attacks until DS#1 told us about them when he arrived for dinner around 6pm. These days you can't feel safe anywhere. Dear Lord please pray for the dead and wounded and their families.

I'm so thankful this didn't happen when our Jean and her Sis were in Paris recently. Former VP Al Gore is in Paris. We are praying for this situation.

Do we have folks from France on here?

JUST NOW: an explosion heard at Bagnolet in Paris and something at Gatwick. On CNN now.

PS: I'm holding my tongue also...

... you don't have to, Sandy... but I'll bet that a lot of us are thinking alike.

Praying for Paris, and the rest of the world, and US (read us and U.S.) - interesting times ahead for sure.

The Paris tragedy is our tragedy. So heartbroken for the terror in this world and what people went through. Bless us Lord, Keep our loved ones safe. Crush the enemies hearts from hate and unite us in our humanity.

It is terrible and I'm really worried about it becoming WW3. I'd say more but I won't.

Please please please don't think of this escalating into WW3. That is way too scary to contemplate.

I think I'm one of the people here more geographically close to Paris...

I was shocked when I heard what happened. That night I couldn't sleep. I thought about Paris and all the places in the world were there is was and death and hate and where people kill each other.
There are so many wrong things in all this... One day Hate and Power will destroy humanity.

If anyone needs to, Facebook has a check-in for people in Paris to let others know they are ok.

Through this, I just now learned that my DH's sister was there as she checked in. I just talked to her and she is safe and getting ready to come home. She was in the immediate neighborhood of the cafe. Quite terrifying.
