View Full Version : Oh it's Wednesday

I had to think what day this was. I slept not too bad last night. I did not have a nap yesterday as the phone kept ringing. My sister-in-law called with a message from the eye doctor that Les' appointment had to be cancelled and rescheduled. What? Why did she call you? I called her back, Katrina said this is the number we have xxxxxx. I said yes that is our number but that is not the number you called. She called his brother instead. A wrong number, but a right number just the same. She felt so bad.

I made the girls a few little gifts yesterday. Can't say much more than that. 2 more sleeps until sewing time at Nancy's.

Today we are headed to the city to pick up the item Les won at the auction. OYE!! It better be nice.

Have a great day friends.

Good morning everyone! Monique, hope you will be pleasantly surprised at the auction winnings! Did you post that meme about smiling just for me? I am having a problem with a front tooth, and will be seeing the dentist soon!

I didn't get my errands done yesterday, so they are on the list for today. Nothing exciting happening around here, some housework, some computer time, some sewing. But the weather is nice, and I will be shop hopping with my sister Thursday and Friday.

Have a wonderful day, forum friends.

Hi Everyone,

I had a wonderful day yesterday. It began by getting a good haircut and from there the day was filled with unexpected encounters with friends I haven't spent time with for ages. I love living in a small town where everyone knows each other. Not saying there aren't a few drawbacks but the advantages greatly outnumber them.

We will be having dinner with friends this evening. They really live in the middle of nowhere so we will have to travel a bit.

I'm scheduled for a mammogram this morning early. Great way to start my day...lol! I'm going to take some Tylenol before I go. If I have time today I would like to make some pillowcases. I cut the pieces out yesterday and they're ready to go under the needle.

Wishing everyone a blessed day with hugs...

Good Morning,
Had to laugh when I saw the meme too, I thought it was for my DH.
Heading to the courthouse this morning to finish the final inventory for Mom. Don't you just love paperwork. (Please read with the sarcasm intended). I filled out two sets, both different because I can't figure out what to put where.
After that, I'll probably lock myself in my sewing room. Good Night Irene, has got to get off of the living room floor!
Have a great day, if you hear a loud scream, it's probably me.

Enjoying all the Fall colors in our neighbor, so many beautiful colors especially the brilliant crimson leafed tree at the local farm market. Picked up some fresh picked apples and made a big apple crisp with them. Not too much crisp on the top but plenty of apples sprinkled with cinnamon for a tasty low calorie dessert.

Kind of crisp day today so I think baking some meatloaf and potatoes are on tonight's menu. Might be a good idea to msake some muffins while the oven is on, we can have a few now and freeze the rest.

Hi folks! I had a very productive day in the sewing room yesterday, finishing up the last remnants required to get my costumes for Nunsense finished. I need to shop for just the right fabric for one more nun's veil ( this will be the 4th one we'll try!). Combinations of fabrics, length and way of attaching it so far haven't worked, so we'll give it another shot! This may be the last of the tweaks! One can only hope!

I also worked on some set decorations. My director bought fabric for the stage bed, he was so proud of himself when he flashed satin blanket binding to me with his purchases, like I would be jumping up and down happy to see it! I HATE THAT STUFF! I haven't seen one application of it where it wasn't all wrinkly and ruffled once applied, I just couldn't deal with that kind of frustration yesterday, nor did I have the time to hand baste or pin it. It was the brightest yellow you could imagine, and if it would have ruffled, it would have caught your eye like nothing else! Last thing I wanted was to do it over because he didn't like it, and I know he wouldn't have liked it! So, I just cut it down and put it on the fleece like regular quilt binding, and zigzagged it in place. My corners aren't great but, hey, this is a stage prop, not an heirloom quilt.

Going to see Kaffe Fassett on Friday! Getting excited about returning to Hamilton! Then I'm going up to Des Moines to see my kids! Good weekend ahead!

Have a great day! I'm smiling with my own teeth today!

My " sistuhs"! That's what they call themselves! The center one is the real actress! The other two are backstage crew that make brief appearances to move scenery and escort actresses on and off the stage! Looking pretty much like the real thing, 40 years ago!

Good morning all

Another beautiful day. Every one of these days are a bonus at this time of year. Sun is shining and it is going to be warm. Tonight is quilting guild night and I always look forward to going. I have my BOM done - we are doing two BOM's this year, one modern and one traditional. I have chosen to do both and really having a ball doing it. We always have a trunk show and tonight it is a lady from near Ottawa. She owns a shop so she is bringing things to sell so it will be a mini shopping trip as well.

Today I am not sure what I am going to do. Some sewing for sure. A little prep for the weekend fun time retreat. Just having fun really. Canada is swearing in the new government today and I really like watching political things so I will be sticking close to the TV for this.

Just time for a shower and another coffee before the ceremonies start.

Let's all SMILE a little for BLONDIE and thank Monique for keeping up our traditional morning posts.

Good morning. It's a gray and cloudy morning here in AZ. Rain coming, and the sky looks more like snow. Flagstaff, 110 miles away, getting snow. 39 degrees here this morning. But a beautiful day!! As I look out I see the beautiful color in the trees all around. I do love the fall. The air is crisp and it makes me want to sew and enjoy my home. Fred just found a recipe for home made bacon corn and potato soup in our little local Chino Review. Think I'll make it tomorrow. I love home made soup and a loaf of crusty bread... YUM. I thawed some cube steaks yesterday that I have to cook for tonight. Anyone got a good recipe? Sewing and cooking! Wonderful. Going to buy some shelving today and Fred said he'd put some up in my sewing room so I can get better organized. Going to have another cup of coffee and get the day started. On that note, I hope you all have a happy and healthy Wednesday.

I was going to say good morning but I see it's now afteroon.....oh my, time sure flies when you're having fun. And boy did I have fun this morning...Weigh in day at WW....I reached my 10% goal, and drumroll please......I'm now in ONEderland......seeing that 1 on the scale had me happy dancing all around the house. Mind you I still have about 30 more lbs to lose.....but I'm doing it and it feels sooooo good.

The one not so good thing is DH - he's doing it with me and he reached goal in about 10 minutes.....he's so darned skinny it makes me want to slap him. I saw him eat chips, skin on chicken, mountains of grapes at one sitting, more chips and real salad dressing......and he loses. I look at a chip and put on 2 lbs. Men are such pig dogs - to quote my sister!!!!

Sending smiles to everyone.

Well, so much for my plans to go to the grocery store today. The skies just opened up ad the rain is pouring down. I tend not to go out when it rains here because the people here don't know how to drive in rain, since it doesn't happen very often. Last night after I woke up for a potty break I lay in bed making mental shopping lists in my heads. I had grand soup making plans for today. Too bad I don't have everything I need already because the weather is perfect to have a giant pot of soup going on the stove. I may just have to get a container of Bernice's taco soup out of the freezer for my lunch.

I just got my Daily Deal from a week or two ago in the mail today, the Enchanted Plume line. Boy is it ever pretty. It sold out really fast that day. I'm glad I didn't wait to order. I didn't really need the fabric, but it was too pretty to pass up. Now, to see what my Golden Ticket has in store for me ... got another 100 quilter's cash points. A week or so ago there was a lady that posted a picture of her ticket, saying she was unable to see what she won or the code to redeem. Well, it made me laugh, I know I shouldn't have, but it was too funny. You could see the scratches on her card where she had scratched off the orange/red background color too! She must have been really excited for that card to be scratching that hard.

Monique and Nan are getting ready for their sewing retreat, Jean is headed back to Hamilton to see Kaffe, makes me wish we had more than one event a year scheduled. It would be cool to have a place big enough to host some quilters for a few days, but of course that would just be more housework, so my little house is fine.

Carol, congratulations on being in ONEderland! And those darn men always lose faster than we do. Just keep going on the program.
