Jean was wanting to give the spider a chance, but it was a persistent pest, so it had to be annihilated!

I personally think a small Geo-thermal Nuclear bomb is just about the right response to the appearance of anything that has more than four legs!

They better not have film at 11, or any other time for that matter. LOL

Bob you should see my husband when there is a spider around. He gets spooked.I like to watch him try to kill them I think he uses a newspaper about 3ft in length all rolled up and swats like it's going to jump and attack him it's a show all by itself

I wouldn't really call it a scene, just a large man climbing up on the picnic table bench. I didn't climb on the table top as some may try to report. LOL

Um, does anyone care to enlighten the rest of us unlucky non-attendees??

I'm thinking the spider got bigger as the day wore on. Lol

It was a good size spider. I was at another table several feet away and could easily count each leg. With the wet weather this year, we have had some good size spiders around. We had one the size of a teacup saucer outside the house this year. Thankfully, that was the only one that size I have seen this year. I don't care for spiders.

I swear this one was the size of a two door Ford Focus!

Big enough that you had to coerce someone to give you a spot at the table next door! :-)

I have nice big tarantulas in my yard this time of year. They have a rusty orange body with fuzzy black legs. Already dressed for Halloween!

I don't know where you live Shirley, but let me say this, I don't want to come visit you!

Not far south of you, and you only see them this time of year for a couple weeks. I've had to move them out of my way a couple times this week.

All I can say is keep them in the South and I'll stay in the North.

If a spider is big enough to cast a shadow it's too big. :D

Tarantulas make wonderful pets. I had one I called Harry! Years ago, but he was a beauty. They have EIGHT LEGS, Bobby!!

Sandy - I bet you loved this movie: Jungle 2 Jungle (1997) - IMDb (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119432/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_39)

Can you make Bob watch it?

I had a Mexican Redleg named Alice, for Alice Cooper. And they really aren't classified as spiders.

My DD is totally freaked by even an itsy bitsy spider. So for my amusement, I placed several black spider Halloween rings in her bathtub and inside her make-up bag. Boy, that was fun to witness! :icon_rolleyes::D:D
