I'm attaching DGD's costume which she will wear this month in Cordova, Veracruz, Mexico, in a ballet competition. My DD made this. I am so proud of both of them. The indention on the basque of the tutu should be centered on the bodice. She was finishing up hand-sewing on the basque last night.

I found out last night that the skirt is supposed to be off center. They are leaving on October 11. DD is coming back, she's just the escort. DGD will be training, participating in a festival of dance and then competing. She will be there for three weeks. She attends online school and she's been working to get ahead. She'll have some catching up to do when she gets back. I'll see if I can send a picture of her and her dance partner.

Dollyquilts, you must be bursting with pride for both your DD's sewing skill and your DGD's dance opportunities. I sure hope there will be a photo or YouTube video we can check out to see her looking gorgeous in her costume and dancing beautifully, I'm sure. Funny you mention it is supposed to be asymmetrical. I was thinking when you wrote your original post that it looks more gorgeous off center than the more conventional centered look. Best of luck to DGD in her competition! And thanks for sharing this wonderful milestone.
