Good Monday Morning!
I am still so tickled over the wonderful news I woke up to about our Emily! Thank you Jan for allowing us the privilege of standing in prayer for your family and secondly for sharing with us so quickly the wonderful news. For those who don't get it, that's okay. Lots of Doc's don't either. I don't know why not all prayers are answered the way we want or think they should be, when they should be. Having witnessed far too many answered prayers in the face of looming uncertainty and negativity, makes me not question ~ and leaves me with a thankful heart.
Golly is it cold or what? Even here in my little part of the world it is C-O-L-D !! Sitting here with a warm cuppa and Gracie on my lap - bestest little lap warmer ever! Of course, she loves the benefit of being under a nice lap quilt on top of my spacious thighs.

What's up for everyone today? Last minute run to the store because you ate all the halloweenie candy over the weekend? I am one of those in the camp of switching halloween to last Saturday in the month. Why that hasn't been done years ago, I will never know.

Good Morning All, Hope everyone had a great weekend I know Jan did isn't the power of prayer wonderful.

Looking forward to the few little tricker treaters we will have tonight, not to many live to far our for that but have a few families that come every years so we can see their little ones all dressed up I really enjoy them.

Need to work on a UFO don't know why this one is so hard for me to finish but I will get it done hopefully by the end of the year. Have finished a few Christmas gifts and I have a quilt I can't wait to start.

Hope everyone has a really nice day.

Morning all! Great news about Emily! So very happy for the Luna family today!

We won't get any trick-or-treaters here. Too far out of town on a dark road. So I don't even bother to buy candy anymore. Beggars night was supposed to have been last night, but just about the whole state had to put it off a day due to the historic snow storm we had on Saturday night. Wow! We only got about 6 inches (counting my blessings here), but one town in western NH got 27 1/2 inches!

It's off to teach taxes again today. I'm on the downward slope now, and am beginning to look forward to being finished. Its been more work than I thought.

Great day to you all!

Good morning everyone. Baby is still sleeping. She usually sleeps about 12 hours. What a joy she is. Grandchildren truly are God's gifts.

Today I will be getting ready for the little trick or treaters. We usually get about 30-40 kids. We are not taking Maizyn out as she is too little to really understand Halloween. Besides she is scared of my decorations.

My days these days are devoted to Maizyn so quilting is pretty much out of the picture. I will enjoy every minute I have.

Have a wonderful and safe Halloween and a great day to boot.

Hello everyone,

Trick or Treat sounds like so much fun. Maybe we should start this tradition here too, celebrations are always welcome, right.
We've got a warm sunny day here. The colors of the leaves are gorgeous in this light.

I managed to take care of the baby, he's sleeping now. This one won't sleep for 12 hours though, 2 hours max. :icon_happy:
And I crisis cleaned my house, using the FlyLady cleaning 101 podcast which made it possible in less than 45 minutes, go me.

hmmm what shall I do next ? :D
I am going to finish that Halloween quilt - maybe just in time for tonight.

Have a great day and evening, all of you !

Good morning all! Had a full weekend with hunting, pumpkin picking, hayrides, pumpkin painting and carving. And I was able to finally finish DD's quilt, I put the last stitch in it and it went on the hayride with us! I will try and get a picture of it later and post it.

Happy Halloween, DH is out hunting,DD is still sleeping, and you can see what I'm doing now! LOL Plan on getting some stitching done along with some laundry and then I'm going to have to start working on DD's hair for tonight. She decided on the whole princess thing and wants pretty hair too as she puts it.

Oh I did start to sandwich DH quilt but found out I didn't have enough batting! Oh well at least it gives me a reason to go shopping (like I need a reason).

I hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning All.

Isn't it wonderful news about Jan's Emily. Still sending prayers.

We won't get any kids tonight so I don't buy any candy except for one bag of candy corns that mysteriously lands in my cart at the store. Hmmm!

Closed camp yesterday. Except for the occasional trip to check on it, we won't be back to stay until April. So sad, but time!

We didn't get the snow (just a couple inches in the hills). Best wishes for those you got hit. I almost have another quilt top done. Have to get some material to add the borders. It's square and I think I need to make strips on the top and bottom to lengthen it into a decent lap quilt. Used the Seredipity block from Jenny's tute. I used the background fabric for the middle strip so it looks much different than Jenny's. Less scrappy. But I like it. I'll have pics oncethe borders are on.

Have a great day.

DD#2 & Hubby are up and headed out the door for the trip north to see a specialist about repairing her knee cap that keeps POPPIN out of it's joint. She had the other one done 10 years ago with excellant results..just alot of pain and PT after. It's about a 4 1/2 hour trip there, so they should be back in time to administer candy to the Tricksters that drop by. We live close to a school, so there are LOTS of them of all ages. I get to play with lots of little ghosts & goulies.

Great News about Emily.. Praise the Lord!

I enjoyed reading about all the other "traditions" you ladies share from your country... I could start a bon fire, but the fire department would come along and put it out.. we have a NO BURN order here. Then I'm sure DD would reconsider that Nursing Home Application that was delivered via mail - darn Insurance companies. She has enough ideas and doesn't need YOUR help.

I don't have very much on my "to do" today.. just get a few more of the swap blocks sewn together.. And do some SLQ on the Header piece of a twin size quilt. I still have both my machines up and running til I get that next quilt done. I'm already dreaming of the next quilt I want to do....

Happy Halloweenies to ya all. Don't eat too much Candy!!

I'm one of those people that err on the side that prayers dont work ...because if they did I wouldnt have spent 18 yrs of my 20 yr marriage trying to have a baby and still have my arms empty. I wouldnt have lost 19 embryos which didnt become pregnancies and 1 which did and died at 8 weeks into the pregnancy on the ivf program so weve lsot 20 babies....One of my uncle met the late pope john paul a couple of tines in the vatican and he even prayed for me to have a baby and it hasnt happened.

Sorry to be a downer just my experince but l've still got empty arms and an aching heart for a dream I will never experince.

Lisaau,

I'm so sorry, Lisaau. I lost two pregnancies but was fortunate enough to have two healthy babies, both girls. I was pregnant 3 times in one year. It was very frustrating and very hard on my emotions. I can only imagine what you've been through losing 20 pregnancies. Losing 2 was bad enough. You're a brave soul to have tried so many times. It's so unfair. There are lots of babies being born to people who don't deserve to have a child. Then there are those wonderful folks like you who would make fantastic parents but can't have a baby. Life is so unfair sometimes. I'm assuming this is why you haven't been visiting the forum lately?

Blondie,
What's up today? Joe comes back to London tomorrow morning. I've got my hair dyed, the bathroom clean, the floors vacuumed and the furniture dusted. The sheets are in the washing machine. Looks like I'll have to start cooking again so a trip to the grocery store is next. Yikes! I don't think I'm going to get much sewing done today.

I wonder if we'll get any trick or treaters at our house in CA? Last few years they have really dwindled. I know my daughter bought a huge bag of candy just in case. Hopefully, they won't eat all that since I know they'll have tons left. I'd have to give it away to the neighbors. I have a terrible sweet tooth. Joe does too. He always keeps shortbread bars and wonderful little cookies with a chocolate coating on one side on a shelf in the hall closet. Being out-of-town he's not around to keep me in check. (He never says anything but just his mere presence keeps me from over-indulging.) I finally had to throw them up in his closet where I can't reach them. The only way to save myself. LOL

Happy Ghoulish Halloween! With all the snow we had, maybe the little trick or treaters will stay home????

Love your shirt, Blondie. Made me laugh out loud.

Lisa, my heart breaks for you and understands the pain of infertility. There's really no comforting words to express except a genuine understanding of what it feels like to be disappointed so many times. The grief that comes with that is unfathomable.
Hugs to you, Dear. (have missed you on the forum)

Not sure how many tricker treaters I will have tonight. This is the first Halloween I've been that I can remember in the 14 years I've been in my house. I was always out with my kids trick or treaten with my kids so we were never home. My daughter is taking her boys to a lady she works with and they going in her neighborhood. So I will have a couple of hours of uninterupted sewing tonight (being as I am a little behind on this project). My sewing machine decided to get sick on me a week in a half ago so I had to bring one of my older sewing machines. Thank goodness I had two back up machines. Hopefully will get it back from the doctor this week. Any way as I digress. Jan glad to hear the good news on Emily. Yes Blondie it is cold here in Georgia as well.

I think I would enjoy the winter months better if I could just stay in a sew and get out at my leisure and not have to get up and go to work everyday. But then if I didn't go to work then I would be able to enjoy sewing my husband would probably put a stop to the spending. So guess I had better get busy since I am work now.

Hope every one has a wonderful Halloween and happy quilting.

I do believe Blondie had her pictures reversed this morning. It's taken me a while to get back here because I had to do some emergency laundry . . . HAPPY HALLOWEEN.

Not much to report that hasn't already been said. Sending prayers to one of my favorite people down under (she knows who she is), and sending special prayers to Rochester and points southwest (and you know who they are for), sending hugs to Monique and she knows why . . . and to everyone else on here who helps encourage me and keep me going. I'm fired up today!

Big decision time - since my SIL tells me my memory is slipping and I've agreed to make her and my little sister each a Christmas wall hanging to exchange at our next family lunch - do I use the preprint panels that I have that would be perfect for each of them, or do I go ahead with the pieced pieces that I have found that would also be perfect? Decisions, decisions.

Jan, while the St. Louis Cardinals did win the world series in baseball, the Cardinals in MY AREA are still banging their poor little dumb heads against my windows. I've tried EVERYTHING I know. They drive me batty!!

Hugs, special prayers, lots of love heading out from here . . . grab it while you can!! No candy though - bad for the blood sugar, the shape of the hips, the taste of the lips, and the holes in the teeth.

BOO!

Hello everyone, Thanks Sandy. Also, I wish I could tell you what to do for the cardinals. They gotta be seeing themselves in your window and are thinking they have to defend their territory. I don't know what to tell you. Poor babies. It's a wonder they haven't broken their necks. They can do that really easy. They stopped doing it at my house when we put a porch on the front of the house. It took the glare away and once they didn't see themselves they stopped.
We never get trick or treaters. No sidewalks on our roads, no lights, people doing 60 miles an hour down the road. It's not safe for the kids. Our fire dept. holds a big party for all the kids in town. So they go there and win big toys. Like bikes, and video games etc. plus they have hot dogs and hamburgs, popcorn, apple cider. And games. The best costume prize and others. Every kid gets some kind of prize.
Well, I have been up since 5 A.M. doing laundry and what ever needs doing. I took our bed apart and put it back together. We have a Select Comfort bed, and the foam gets pushed out every once in a while. So I have to take it apart, turn the foam, and but it back together again.
I got so drenched doing it, I had to take another shower and wash my hair. It's that internal or infernal heating system I seemed to have developed. LOL Anyway, I'm done with the laundry and I'm going to lay down and get my back under control again, then I'm going to sew another row on my SIL's tumbler quilt I'm doing. I hope she likes it. I'm not all that confident in my quilting. {:-P I'm saying prayers for those who need them.
Blondie, thank you, all of you, for the prayers for Em, for letting me vent, cry, rage, worry, etc. You all held me together more than you will ever know. I wish I could hug each and every one of you. Emily was amazed at how many people around the world who were praying for her. I listed all the countries for her, and all the states here. "Tell them thank you for me Luna, tell them I love them." She said. So thank you from Emily! I told her that you would all keep her in your thoughts. She said she prayed for all of you last night.
You are right Blondie, sometimes God says NO! Because He has something better for you. Sometimes, He says yes and stuns us with His power. I am forever grateful. And I stand in awe! Sometimes, You just have to let go and let Him work His will for you. That is sometimes the hardest thing to do. But once you learn how to let go and let God, You are in for the most powerful love that He sends. Even when the answer is NO. He still will do what is best for you! I love you all dearly, and I thank you all. In Christ's Love, Hugs, Jan L.

Happy Halloween to all! It is just a regular day here except for a few sweets nibbled around the schoolwork. We buy candy, just in case, every year but rarely get any trick-or-treaters here at this old farm. I have a terrible sweet tooth, so it will all disappear eventually! I miss not making costumes, driving to the grandparents for treating, and all the silly little screams and giggles. Ok, not sewing costumes has allowed me more time, but I still have some great ideas that I never got to use! I put on a dark orange sweater today......my only concession to the holiday this year! Enjoy the night! SuzyQue

Lisa----I imagine hearing about Halloween and all the kiddos has to be very hard on you. I can only imagine your pain and sorrow. I lost 2 little ones, both about 8 weeks into the pregnancies. It is very difficult. Although I do have 3 living children now....the pain continues for those lost little ones. I have hope to see them eventually in heaven. I feel your aching heart and no life is not fair. I will pray for peace in your heart that your sadness will be relieved. SuzyQue
