Gasoline dropped to $1.97 over the weekend here. How many years has it been since gas was below $2 a gallon?

I wish! our state has one of the highest gas taxes around but I did get gas yesterday for 2.37 and was racking my brain to remember when it was that low too. Its a relief on a straining budget isn't it :)

I don't care who takes credit (most of us can figure out the reason for this with just a bit of knowledge/information) it just means our trip to M* in a couple weeks will allow us more spending $$$.

WOW......and I got excited last night paying $2.28 !!! Citgo offers 5 cents off if you purchase their cards ( the cards are initially a dime, then you can re-load the card over and over. There's only one gas station here in town that you can get 10 cents a gallon off the regular price. Last night the regular price was listed as $2.38. This Citgo gas station is right across the street from the Jo-Ann fabrics store in the town I live in. So, whenever I go to Jo-Ann's i always get gas there at the Citgo....
I was thrilled to pay $2.28 per gallon.....and would have been doubly thrilled to have paid $1.97 of course !! Lucky YOU !

Here in Pa it is around $2.55 where I live. Most of it is the taxes.

When I lived in Japan as a teenager we paid 10cents for regular and 11cents for high test. Of course that was on base and in the 60's. LOL

$2.64 a gallon here yesterday. Diesel was $2.43. My friend drives a diesel pickup and she was thrilled a couple months ago when diesel dropped below gas.

Hey, Granny Fran. I lived in Japan in the 60's. We arrived in '60 and left in '63. I was older than a teenager though! I had 2 little ones. I remember the cheap gas, and my best friend who had a little VW. We could go all day on a dollar's worth of gas!

$2.89 in Lakebay. Probably closer to $2.69 if I spent the $5 in bridge tolls to drive to the gas stations on native land. Still better than $5 we were at a few years ago.

Sad part is the workers in the oil fields are losing their jobs. Many a family struggling right now. And its not their fault.

It has been below $2 for several weeks here, we are usually on the lower end with the rest of the country. When I took my road trip to Wyoming this summer it was tough seeing it over $3. Of course, lower prices have caused many around here including my geologist son to lose their job, one of those double edged swords.
