Hootie hoo! How's everybody doing? We continue to have a problem with our new a/c. So ridiculous! We paid over 2600 bucks for a unit that doesn't work right. They put a new coil in today but it continues to ice up and quit working. We stayed in a hotel because it was so hot and humid on Monday (up to 81 degree dew point!). I actually found this company on the BBB web site. The BBB is gonna be getting an official complaint filed if this unit isn't fixed or replaced.

Soooo, is it cool in your tree tonight? I'm not doing any sewing, as I stay downstairs where it's cooler...but it would be nice to be able to! @,@

The temperatures are headed back up to the high 80's by the weekend and hotter over the weekend they say. Today was the first day in a week that I have been able to see Mount Rainier from our deck. There was so much smoke being blown down from the fires up in Canada....so bad that you could even smell it! I can't even remember the last time it rained here.....might have been in May sometime. It's 70 outside right now w/51% humidity.

Yoda went to the groomer today and he is pooped. He loves being groomed. There are a lot of yapping dogs there and I think that stresses him out. He loves going there and they love him and always do such a good job, but seriously he has been napping on and off ever since I brought him home!

Just flashed the weather on the TV.....up to 88 on Sunday, then down to 71 w/a chance of rain by Tuesday.

It is cool in my tree because my a/c is working although I've been where you are. A couple of years ago it wasn't working but the repair was quick and painless as they decided it had never been installed correctly and assumed all cost. Whew that was lucky.

I'm headed to bed soon as I am feeling lop-sided. I had laser surgery on one eye today. The other eye was not dilated and so I think I lean to the left when I walk.

I sure wish I could send you a good repair person and I hope that company covers the cost of the motel room.

Good morning! It's already time for coffee and getting ready for work in my tree. I haven't slept well for a few days now (although my tree is really cool at the moment) and I'm tired. This afternoon, Thomas will be flying to Moscow again but he comes home tomorrow night already. I hope to be able to sleep early today and that the kiddos don't wake me up. I can get really grumpy if someone wakes me up...

The interview went okay for DS#2 yesterday. He had to give a short talk and overran his time frame for that because he couldn't see the clock. Then they had a structured interview and apparently they had to skip a few questions because he answered them very detailed and there wasn't enough time for that, too. I don't know how they're going to judge it or his answers. He said he couldn't read their faces about how they liked his answers. The application has to go through several instances from now on and we'll have to wait for the final decision until September.

Kimsophia, I'm so sorry about your a/c. I'd file a complaint, too. For this kind of money it really should work like a charm.

Have a good night and a wonderful day, night owls. See you later.

Thank goodness our air is working...the temperature in River Valley Arkansas has been in triple digits the last few days and don't get me started on the heat index.....very hot!

Kimsophia, hope you get the whole AC quandary solved quickly. I would be hopping mad.

No storms here tonight. Actually got the grass mowed tonight when it wasn't so hot, so I will have sewing time tomorrow.

So, I broke down and "adopted" an embroidery machine. It is a Babylock Ellegante. I remember a friend getting a Bernina 22 years ago and I have wanted one ever since. Of course I didn't sew for years much, but it was always in the back of my mind. When I got back into sewing 3 years ago the first thing I did was find a Bernina shop and price machines with embroidery included. I went into major sticker shock and walked out of the store in a daze. I bought a decent Necchi machine (Janome 6300 clone) without embroidery and proceeded to learn to quilt. Thought it would be enough...and yet everything time I went into a sewing machine store I would ask about used one with embroidery. I wanted the larger hoop and USB capability.

So I finally found one I think I will like. I played with her a bit today...if I can figure out placement and changing size I may be in business for some small projects. I am envisioning quilt labels, embroidered squares, small quirky touches on quilts (like an embroidered monster on a kids quilt), and most of all quilting some with embroidery patterns. DH may request monograms on his shirts.

I hope "Ella B" will behave and I don't fall off the learning curve.

Have a good Wednesday all!

I think I survived the casino adventures :) And the weather has cooled off here a fair bit too. All good things!

I found out 6 of my English credits and 3 Elective credits from my first university degree transfer over to my new program, so I'm very happy about that. Was not looking forward to taking 2 100 level English classes when I have 300 level classes from university previous! I should be cleaning, but I'm not. This afternoon I take the dogs over to the groomers. Both are pretty shaggy so this is a good thing. My daughter got her storage pod delivered to our driveway today. She's selling all of her stuff on the weekend. Moving to the other side of the country for a year.
