Hello Folksies and let's all welcome Tuesday in together!

Yesterday was rather satisfying. After getting off the computer, Sis and I were at Mom's before 6:30. It was still lightly misting after rain all night. It made our job easier in digging up the irises that my Mom had tagged for color. They all really needed separating and transplanting. So now they have been dug up and under the carport. They didn't look like that many but when they were dug up they took up half the carport! Oy. Wait until we do the day lilies. Mom's job will be to separate the clumps and keep the colors separated like she wanted to. Me? I like a scrappy patchwork quilt and one look at my flower beds you will truly understand that concept carries over in my entire life. Have you ever thought about that? I mean they have quizzes for everything out that. A, B, C type personalities, what type of occupation personalities, what type of mental disorder personalities, etc. All to reveal the real you. Hmmm. We should make our own quiz and figure out what our quilts say about us. Question one:
do you separate your stash by color or yardage - that kind of thing.

Ok folksies. It is off to do some sitting today. Rain and thunder last evening, more heading this way later this morning. I need to take the chicken out of the freezer before I forget. I did yesterday (sort of accidentally on purpose kind of forgetting) so last night was grilled cheese and chips. I like dinners like that. Besides I was still tired from all that digging.

Enjoy this day, think happy thoughts. SMILE.

Good morning. It has been a terribly hot few days around here, but I am not complaining. It was so hot at work, no a/c just a little fan, so I did not work especially hard. I did more quilting on the little dress quilt I made a while back.

We had a BBQ Saturday night with a few friends. Hubby's birthday was Sunday. I was feeling a little peaked on Sunday but I survived the day. I can't wait until this week is over. Next week is my Row by Row road trip, a much needed vacation.

IT'S OFFICIAL!! I am in menopause. It's been a year without a period.

Have a wonderful day friends. Hi ho hi ho, it's off to work I go.

Good morning! Yes, the heat is certainly on in the Midwest! 99 degrees yesterday! I was given the opportunity to escort my 2 grandkids to a nearby swim area for a special day with my granddaughter who will turn 10 on Wednesday. She'll be busy that day, so it was a good time to be with her and her brother for a day. I knew the place would be crowded, but when we got there, it wasn't too bad. But when the 5 bus loads of campers rolled up, THEN IT WAS CROWDED! But the kids enjoyed it and so did I! I gave her the Minion mesh bag full of swim toys, she loved them! Mom told me that after our whole afternoon in the pool, they swam in their backyard pool for hours last evening! So, no sewing yesterday for grandma! Hopefully, I'll get into the sewing room today!

Have a good day! Keep cool, dry, happy!

Morning!
I didn't do any sewing yesterday... actually didn't do much of anything that wasn't absolutely necessary! I think last week's busyness caught up with me. I putzed around on the computer, did a bit of hand stitching (ok, I did do some sewing ;)), not much else! Oh, I played with the dog... she is so darned cute! Now that she's a bit older, she does this thing where she grabs my pant leg if she wants to play - not a hard tug, just a little whine and a nip and pull on my pants. I like that she lets me know because she is not generally over demanding.
Off to a friend's this morning for coffee - if my daughter wants to tag along, then we'll have FIL in tow - he can sit and listen to the hens cluck... I'll try to get some sewing in as well today - have a great day all :)

Good morning. Happy Tuesday. Monday was a pretty quiet day at work. Hopefully the rest of the week continues along that line. I have three days off next week so I am looking forward to that. My plan is to spend the majority of it sewing. Let's see if that plan actually holds. I also need to bring my car in to have it looked at. The a/c is not working right. The fan will only work on super-high. the other three settings just get you a trickle. We would like to have that working before we go on vacation next month.

Well, I hear the washing machine has just stopped so I'd better go get that emptied and the next load done before I head to work.
Have a great day everyone. Keep cool and safe.

Happy Tuesday everyone~
I am getting lots accomplished, but keep pushing off my quilting for 'tomorrow'. I wait all school year to quilt more and then when I get the chance during summer, I feel the need to clean out the clutter which takes me until mid-July and then I quilt like crazy before school starts again. I am getting ready for a flea market sell with my sister and 2 girlfriends in September - what fun we have, especially watching the people. Last year we were surprised to see someone walking their pet pig through the market. Today - I have ALL the Christmas boxes upstairs and waiting for me to go through it all. I have 2 quilts layered and pinned ready for quilting right beside me.

Blondies question - my fabrics are kind-of organized by color, but we also have sections of lots of different themes too.

Flower beds - oh! All the colors mixed up is the best! Right now, I noticed we have quite a few hundred Queen Ann's Lace and tall wild petite daisys scattered here and there through the gold daylillies, bleeding hearts, orange daylilies, wild flowers of all colors - just beautiful. We have a thing with the Queen Ann's Lace. One year when my son was very small, he told me which flower was his favorite. He pointed to a tall Queen Ann's Lace which had 60-70 flower heads on top of one stalk. Yes, it's classified as a weed, but if you just let them go to bloom, they are gorgeous. (I'll post some photos of the beds later, the computer is still giving me fits and my photos have gone to cyberland for now, but I will find them!)

Have a wonderful day everyone.

Good Morning!! Deciding what to do first. Bake cupcakes or press the king size Quilt I've been working on for the past month. Biggest Quilt I have ever made. It is for my step Son, who is getting married Aug. 1st. Tonite is our Christmas in July at our Quilt guild. Should be fun. Got everything ready and wrapped last nite.
Last week was a long one. A Friend who comes into the store lost her Son. He had a heart attack. Was only 34 years old. Saw her yesterday, my heart goes out to her and the family. It is never easy to lose a loved one. It is even harder when it is your Son or Daughter. I guess, you figure you will go before your children, not the other way around. It is still hard on my Mom, it has been 4 years ago since the passing of my Sister. If things were easy, it would be too good to be true!!
On to getting things done. Have a great day Everyone!!

Morning all!! We started and ended our day yesterday with loud T storms and heavy rain. Lost TV on and off but the lights stayed on!
It was too dark to paint walls so I spent the day taping the trim and spackeling the holes from picture hooks and curtain rods. Clean up today and then painting begins!!
DH is really annoyed now with the painting mess and wants it done now!! Seriously! If you're not participating then you don't have a say in the matter, just sayin!!!!!! So I make him cinnamon rolls and he was happy!! But he woke up this morning and asked if its done yet! UGHHHH!!
So I'm off. Hope all have a good day and are safe in this crazy weather.

Good Morning! Suppose to be another hot one around here. We did avoid all of the storms last night. I am hoping to get a little bit of pressing and cutting done on a project sometime today.

Blondie, for an answer to the question - I am more of a sort the fabric stash by the project.

Have a great day everyone :)

Need to package a quilt to mail today. I also may cut some squares--I'm experimenting again. At least my projects don't explode if the experiment fails. :)

Good morning everyone!
Today my DH and I are traveling down to Santa Clara to visit my daughter. She visited us for the Fourth of July weekend so it's our turn to go down. We will only go for the day though, she has no room for overnight guests. We are really happy to get to see her. We miss her living with us, but she's a grown up now. I might get some sewing in - I'm working on my 30th dog quilt. Can't wait to finish making the dog quilts, then it's on to real quilts. I have two waiting in the wings, a crib quilt made from charms and a cal king made from layer cakes.

I was up early this morning to beat the heat. While sitting on the porch swing, enjoying my breakfast, I decided that I HAD to scrub that porch again. I tackled it early this summer, but it was a mess with all the rain and wind from this summer. Four hours later, it is spotless and beautiful! If only I had time to sit on the swing and enjoy it. NOPE! Too hot to be out much now and plenty of other things calling my name! Some days I need to be 4-5 people to get to it all and some days I have to kick myself in the behind to get to anything. I am in a busy phase for now, so I best be getting to it! Take care in this dreadful heat! Enjoy the a.c.!

Hi Everyone...I'm having a rough day. I'm thinking it's the heat triggering the Epstein-Barr. Feeling really down physically...everything hurts and the rash is starting. Will check in later..right now I need to sleep.
