I thought he passed away two or three years ago. Still sad, we loved his shows.

Yes, I thought so too, and he did. A friend posted it on her FB with a link to USA today and it looked legit. Changed this when I realized my error.

Sorry, I've been away all evening. Donna posted that Andy Griffith died, then she realized it wasn't from a legitimate site. She edited it after she realized it.

Well that's unfortunate it got recirculated like that. Sorry I made fun. I loved him too.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who missed it.

A friend of mine posted it on her FB site too - sounded like it just happened. Well, I forgot he passed away awhile ago. She said 'oh, it is the anniversary of his death'. That drives me nuts. Especially for the ones that have been gone for 200 and some years. Let them rest in peace.

I know! I hate it when people do that. It showed up on my FB page too. I wish people would post something like, "honoring the anniversary of so-and-so's death" instead of making it look like the person just died. I also don't get the happy birthday wishes to the dead that I often see on FB. In my opinion, the reason we wish someone Happy Birthday is to celebrate the fact that they are still enjoying life on earth for yet another year. I think wishing Happy Birthday to the dead is just weird. What about "Remembering you today and wishing you were here to celebrate another birthday."
