First of all.....need to get this out of the way:

WOOHOO - I'M ON VACATION THIS WEEK

Khloe came to sew with me this week-end and we've been having fun. She is still asleep right now but we are going to play with machine embroidery today.

As for the rest of the week, I think I'll straighten and air the house tomorrow and then sew the rest of the week. I think we might go to Amish country on Wednesday. It will make a nice day trip.

Well need to go, Khloe should be up soon and she's already told me she wants pancakes for breakfast.

Have a wonderful day, prayers and hugs.

Good morning Shirley and all to follow!
Well, we had the mother of T storms last night including a power outage for 4 1/2 hours. Lots of rain too!!!
I thought it would be a great time for a nap, but DH decided it was time to wander with his flashlight and Casey was in total panic with all the thunder! So no nap for me!! The weather alert radio kept sending us warnings about possible tornados until the power went out. Thankfully I could keep up with alerts on my phone!
On top of that I managed to get a salivary stone blockage and the right side of my neck just blew up! The pressure was horrible, but no power to heat up a hot pack or make hot tea to try unblocking it! When the power did come on I was all over the heat thing!!
Still partially blocked this morning but much improved and less painful!! Sucking on gummy bears to help keep it moving!!

Eileen, would lemon candy work for you? Someone along the way had blockages like that and the lemon helped things through really well. I hope you find relief soon, you have a lot on your plate over there :(

Shirley, yayyyy vacation!!! So glad you and Khloe are having a blast together. I look forward to teaching Sophie but then again don't want to rush it because that means she's growing up faster ! LOL

Hey Amy!! I used lemon candy years ago when I first started getting them and I broke out in canker sores so I had to find another option. Things are a bit better this am, but still quite sore. For some reason, gummy bears make me salivate a lot, and that's saying something since I have the whole dry eye, nose, mouth, throat thing going on all day long! It is so annoying!!!

Eileen, though it won't help with the eyes, my Al swears by Biotene for his dry mouth and throat. Sending hugs, hope they help!!

I'm debating about what I'll do today. Made another wallet yesterday afternoon and put a bunch of circles on my polka dot quilt. I even managed to get some lawn mowed!

Love Khloe's picture with the pillowcase - she seems a wee bit distracted. She is definitely a keeper, and Shirley is so lucky to have a change to make funny faced pancakes this morning.

You'all have a wonderful day!

Good morning all. Yay for vacation Shirley! Looks like a great way to start it by sewing time with Khloe. :) Eileen I hope you feel better soon.

We had a bunch of rain last night. Went to dinner with a friend and got pretty wet walking back from the restaurant. Before dinner, I took a trip to a lqs. Picked up some yardage for a baby quilt and an adorable fq along with their r x r pattern and license plate. Not sure what today will hold. I may take a ride to another lqs or maybe I'll just spend time in my sewing room.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning everyone. It is a lovely morning here, windows opened and breezes blowing through the house.

Shirley - I love that Kloe's pillow case is almost as big as she is! Enjoy your vacation!!!!!
Eileen - Owie! I hope the swelling and the pain are gone. That sounds like no fun at all. And glad your electricity is back.
Amy - I totally understand about the growing up thing. But a big plus side of teaching her will be having a shared interests as she does get older.

I have been up for awhile, but refused to get out of bed! However, dear JJ, my rottweiler, decided to uses telepathy to get me up and going. He will stand by the bed and stare at me until I open my eyes and get up! My "once a week, special treat" breakfast is in the oven, and the aroma is rising. It is a ham and swiss cheese baked omelet. So good, so rich - therefore never more than once a week! I'm enjoying my first cup of coffee while waiting for the omelet to finish baking.

I have already done a bit of sewing, adding the top border to my Friendship Quilt. Today I hope I will find "just the right" fabric for the backing and binding. I love how this quilt has turned out; it is my most challenging effort to date.

Oops! There is the timer! The omelet is done, yum yum. Hope everyone has an enjoyable day.

Good morning. Shirley have a wonderful vacation.

A cloudy start to the day here. I watched fireworks on the lake just down the road from here last night with friends. A wonderful display. I did not do much yesterday as I had to work all morning.

Tomorrow is back to work and wait for the repair man to come fix the handle on the safe that I broke. I am hoping all goes well. Wouldn't you now it, just when the boss is away. Let's hope the week is fairly quiet.

I don't know yet what today will bring as hubby is not out of bed yet. He is on the phone right now talking with Greg, so he will be up and at 'em shortly.

Well, have a wonderful Sunday friends.

Good Morning, on this sunny Sunday.
I think it's suppose to be the nicest day were gonna have this week, so we'll get out and about today. We want to go ride if it stays nice.
Sherly, your lil grand daughter is a Cuttie !!! So sweet of you, to take the time to teach her, and make memories that will last a lifetime.
Hope every one has a blessed day.

Good morning everyone!

I had a lazy morning and stayed in bed late, just now finishing off the first cup of coffee. I got some quilting done yesterday on my bargello quilt and hope to do more later. I'm planning on going to help the local Project Linus chapter today on their blanket day where they sort and check quality on all the donations this month.

Hope everyone has a great day!

I swear I have been transported to Oklahoma. I'd believe it if the katydids were chirping. It's entirely too hot for Western Washington and now the humid has rolled in. ICK! We haven't had rain in about 2 months. This is crazy.
It's starting to make the locals cranky, sort of like when folks don't get enough sun in the winter.

Out to milk and pick blueberries before the heat really sets in for the day. At least when it's this hot we come in during mid-day, so maybe I can get some sewing done.

Off to take my heat-crabby self to the coffee pot and down to the barn.
I hope you all have a good day. C

Hope the doc is able to do a laminectomy to solve your herniated disc. I have had to have three on three different discs and they solved my problems almost overnight. Still had to recover from the surgery, swelling, etc but a miracle for sure.

Sunny here in Colo. Supposed to be 90 deg. My son lives in Sumner, WA, & they're suffering from the unusually warm temps. there. He lives in a 2nd story apt. & was going to search for a window A/C today, if there are any left in the stores. The stores were really picked over, even for fans.

I've been to church & stopped by the groc. store on the way home for a few things. Yikes! Have you bought eggs lately?! Last week, Eggland's X-lg. eggs were $2.99/doz. Today the price had jumped to $3.49! That seems a bit like price gouging to me.

I hope everyone has a good wk.-end. It's hard to believe it's almost the 4th of July.
