Haha! My family is of Danish descent and those were a staple when I was growing up!
I've opened those tins to find all kinds of things. Usually cookies...but all kinds of other things too!

Hah! Me too. My Danish grandfather always had them around the house, and my mom used them for extra buttons, snaps, hooks and eyes, etc.

I wish I had one b/c they are roomy. But I make do with a smallish hexagonal tin that once held Giardelli chocolate drops.

Yes, those cookie tins are so handy for sewing supplies. I can never part with them.

Cookies or buttons? Now there's a dilemma! Don't touch my buttons but you can have a cookie, lol!

I remember those and a couple of other tins that my Grandmas had. You knew the one in the kitchen was where the cookies were. Any other spot in the house was a wild guess what might be in them - everything from buttons, sewing, fabric scraps, yarn, needlepoint. I actually have a tin that I have had since I was a little girl that has embroidery in it that I got from my grandma when I was learning how to do embroidery.
