Good morning friends. It is a very dark and cloudy start to the day. Hubby is still away although he did call yesterday and I don't know if you all heard about the two escapees from a Clinton, NY jail? Well that is the area that Les and the boys are in. Pretty scary stuff.

I had a great weekend. I left early Saturday morning for a fabric sale. I was a little disappointed but still managed to spend some money. Little baggies of precut fabric. Then off to the quilt show, where I managed to buy MORE fabric. I went to my brother's place and had a nap while waiting for them to return from a bike ride. A lovely supper and a glass of wine later, we looked through two boxes of photo albums that belonged to our Mom. Lots of wonderful memories.

Arrived home around lunch time yesterday. Did not do much of anything, although I did up some bamboo trees that are growing on the property next door. They are hard to kill, you have to rip out the roots. And these are not little roots.

I work today until 6 and I do have a project that needs quilting that I will take with me.

Have a wonderful day friends. Prayers going out to those in need. I saw Hulamoon's post about being happy so here goes.

Sounds like you had a great weekend! And, wow, those prison escapees are really scary. I hope they are captured soon.

I woke up to clouds and rain today, too. Soft and lovely rain that is helping my flowers grow. I love this time of year here! Since it is a little dark today, I decided to put away the muted quilt I have been working on all last week and start one with bright, happy colors. Guess it goes with the song. :)

I have always told my kids to "Spread happy". A smile goes a long way.

Rainy day here too Monique. Goin' on a little road trip with my sis today. We both found summer dresses at Kohl's last week that were perfect so going back today to spend our Kohl's cash and get another dress. Quiet weekend here. DH ran in the Beat Beethoven race and I stayed home and seems like just fiddled around with my vintage sewing machines- cleaning, oiling and getting them going.

Just want to add one of my favourite happy songs- oldie but a goodie. Have a great day.

Morning Everyone

We have been having storms since 2 am. They have backed off a little so I'm daring to get online for a few minutes. Will these storms ever end!

Today I will be cooking for the Girls. I have a big pot of chicken breasts simmering and when I get off here I will make a double batch of their biscuits. I supplement their cooked food with Blue dry food to make sure they get everything they need nutritionally. Little beggars that they are, they would like to supplement their diets from our plates. I don't feed them from my plate, but Jeff does. He can't resist the 'I'm starving nearly to death' look in their eyes.

Very little sewing going on here. I got my Stripology ruler a few days ago and I can't leave it alone. It's really awesome and so simple to make perfectly straight strips. It was really worth what it cost.

Wishing everyone a great Monday. I'm still smiling about Iris and her beautiful table runner.

Rainy day here also. T-storms predicted on and off all day. Back to work for me after having 5 days off. Glad I only work part time and my day is done at 1pm . Sometimes that 4 hours seems like forever. Especially Monday, rain and returns.
Thinking about my next project and think it ill be a jar quilt for PICU group.
Have a happy Monday all, hugs and smiles all around. Since its raining we need to bring our own sunshine in the form of smiles.

Short week for me this week and the next four weeks are short weeks for me. Then I'm suppose to have Jury Duty the week of the 6th of July. This is the first time that I have been called to serve and may not be able to serve because one of the Questions they ask is do I have any relatives by blood or marriage that work in law enforcement and I have two Cousins that are Sheriff Deputies for two different counties, one being the county that I have been given the notice to serve. So we will see. Plus that week is a pay week and I really don't like hearing my office manager wine about having to do my stuff.

Every one have a good week.

Hey ladies, things are going ok here! Can't believe it's Monday already though!

Would like to show you a picture of our little cutie "Nacho" hubby finally has a cat that isn't scared of him. Nacho has made himself at home instantly, just has to settle in with Norman and stop scaring Niko. 8# terrifies 130#. In a week I'm sure the 3 pets will be rolling around playing like crazy.
Here the boys are watching the basketball game last night. I hope he helps with DH's stress. So far looking good with that :)

Thoughts and prayers still blanket everyone.

We've gone over 24 hours with no rain here - so I'm sending some of this weather easterly. Hope it helps. The sunshine is beautiful today. Bout time I could say that.

Noticed a doe in the back yard last night and she was sure acting strange. Al and I wondered if she was looking for a safe haven to 'calf' - not sure of the season. What do you call it when deer give birth? First deer we've seen for a while. They used to be very frequent visitors and numerous, too.

Have a bit of shopping to do this morning, catch up on some laundry and then . . . wait for it . . . QUILT. Speaking of laundry though - we have a Cabrio washer and dryer (which I have mentioned that I absolutely despise . . . ) and the dryer has been taking forever. So yesterday I pulled it out and got the shop vac to clean the exhaust hose. Remember, Folks, never use the shop vac to blow instead of suck. Oh, well, the floors did need cleaned and I enjoy being in the shower now and then. We usually don't have issues with the exhaust, but I think with all this damp weather that fuzz and lint have been sticking on the hose. Which brings up another point. Why do they have to make it so difficult to hook the dryer to the exhaust? Luckily Al is a bit more agile than I am and he was able to get between the appliances and with minimal swearing managed to get it hooked up. (I told him it was all designed by M E N . . . )

Keep smiling, keep healthy, keep a kind heart. In the long run it all matters!!

Good Morning, all!

Monique, I wondered if any of our forum members were in the area that the escapees are believed to be in. Tell them to be safe, but keep an eye peeled and a cell phone in hand - the reward is up to $100K. Do you know how much fabric that would buy? Seriously though, I am praying for safety for all and that they will be captured and returned to prison without anyone, especially the innocent, being injured.

All that are getting rained on - sounds like a good reason to stay home and sew! Lynne, looks like you have some sewing time, too. Get a hand project ready to work on. You may have more than a few hours of sitting around. Having family in law enforcement doesn't automatically disqualify you - you will just be questioned more.

Hope everyone has a safe and Blessed day

It is a dreary rainy day here and suppose to rain tomorrow as well. Been listening about the escapees. Not real close, but just across the border from Northern Vermont. I did hear about the $100K reward. Hopefully they also find the person/persons responsible for helping them escape. They had power tools to cut through steel pipes. It is scary, especially for the people in that area.

Today I have to run up to Staples, do some cleaning in my kitchen and I have three tablerunners that I need to back and quilt.

Have a good day everyone and sending positive thoughts your way.

Morning everyone. I really do not like Mondays....Mondays are the day when I have an all day meeting in another building, from 9:30 to 3:30...EVERY Monday. I like my creature comforts and my two cups of tea every morning and on these days I only get one. May have to bring tea, mug and sugar with me.

We had SO MUCH rain last night! One of my planters was empty and I'm not kidding there was at LEAST four inches of water in that thing this morning if not more. It was crazy rain! Woke me up at 3 a.m. Thought a freight train was coming through my house. I guess it's good since my landlord just had sod laid last week. Had an okay weekend. Friday night visit with my brother and his wife was actually very nice. Thinking I might go visit them in PEI when I am on my holidays. Saturday I bought a BBQ and assembled it ENTIRELY BY MYSELF! AND IT WORKS! Liam and I had BBQ'd pork chops for dinner last night. I over-cooked them but they were still edible. lol.

Well should get off to my meeting! Sending warm love to all in need! xoxo

Good morning, forum friends.

We had a great weekend. Saturday we had a family reunion of my dads side of the family. We had 44 people, tons of awesome BBQ and side dishes, sunshine and hot weather. It was a fun day but we were all pooped by the end from the heat. Yesterday I enjoyed a nice relaxing day enjoying our air conditioning.

Sandy, love the picture you posted! :D

Ok, I am now seriously impressed! Our last BBQ was such a headache to assemble . . . hours and hours. Next time, I will call you.

Good morning all,

Sandy, all your rain came to central Illinois as we got a little over 5 inches last night. I'm so glad I needed some time to myself yesterday and made the decision to mow lawn. It helped my mood, and it was certainly the right decision. I knew we were to get a little rain, not a lot!

Last night we went to my sister's for a cookout. Everybody was there except my son, his wife and baby. We had such a great time. My youngest so and my 75 year old mom won the washer's tournament. I still giggle today thinking of them both with their "medals" around their neck. My nephew is a baseball player in college and is entered into the baseball draft, which starts today. He thinks he will be "chosen" in the draft tomorrow so we are all getting together tomorrow to away the call. It's an exciting time that he has worked very hard for.

I'm heading into my home office to work for the day but I also have high hopes of finishing a quilt top tonight. I've needed quilt therapy lately so there's been much accomplished in the sewing room!!

Good Morning! The weekend went by way too fast. Saturday morning was a sleep in morning then I thought we could work on the storage unit but turned out dh had to work. And today he has meetings this morning and work this afternoon, so I think I will just work on a couple of projects around the house since the storage unit is not an option today. I think that it about time to finish packing away the winter clothes, it has been such a cool spring that winter clothes were needed much longer than usual.

Have a great day everyone :)
