View Full Version : another frustrating experience

Trying to find fabric on M* site. Would like to make a quilt in memory of my dad, his favorite flower was a daisy and we planted many in our yard together so I began a search for daisy fabric, nothing fit just right. Tried floral fabric 3000+ items found, began browsing through found one about 120 in, looked at it, not right, back to search, got sent to #24 kept searching, each time I was sent back to almost the beginning. This is so very frustrating! My vision is not very good and this gets difficult for me and so.....once again I just gave up.

Sorry for the rambling I just needed to vent and DH was ignoring me.

Beth, I know Al is aware of the issue with not being able to return to the page you were viewing and they are working on that.

Have you, however, seen this fabric? https://www.missouriquiltco.com/shop/detail/14503/benartex/jackie-robinson/he-still-loves-me-daisy-stripe-black-yardage

I think part of the issue with the site search is how many key words are used to describe a fabric, color, print image, etc. The other thing, I believe they are working on.

What I do when I'm looking at a long list of choices is right click on the image and open in a new tab - sometimes my computer runs slow (it's the internet service I have) and it takes forever, and continue browsing until I have a number of tabs open with the individual items I want to look at more closely. When something doesn't meet my needs, I close the tab and move on to the next.

One thing I wish they would do is put "add to wishlist" on the search pages for each item - I've seen it done elsewhere but I can't remember where - then we could put items on a wishlist to look at more closely. I'm going to start using my wishlists for projects the fabric is intended to be used - that way I can quickly find something I have saved instead of scrolling all billion or so items on one wishlist. :)

Know how you feel. This morning it took me a very long time to order 2 pairs of pants, I kept being sent back to the beginning page. I stayed with it only because I really wanted them as they are the basic black and a navy pair of pants I wear a lot. Hope you find a daisy fabric you like.

You can always add them to your cart and then look at them all in a row, then delete the ones you don't want to buy or change your yardage amounts..

I search on an iPad, I use the back arrow and it takes me back to where I was looking, or at least, pretty close.

I think Fabric.com has a pretty good browser, I can find stuff on their website easily. Maybe, way too easily!

Instead of that fabric (since it's unavailable) how about a Happy Daisy quilt instead?

The sad thing is He Still Loves me is an old line and not much is left. I know I bought some turnovers and maybe some charm packs with a little yardage a couple years ago. It is a very pretty line.

I love M* and I'm not even gonna admit to how much I buy here. Having said that, if that line is what you want and since M* is out of lots of it, Crafttown fabrics, CraftTownFabrics provides all your quilt making needs from fabrics, patterns, kits and quilting classes. (http://www.crafttownfabrics.com) has quite a few of these in yard goods and on sale. I've ordered many times from them and they are great. I was trying to give you the link for this but just crafttownfabrics.com should work in a search engine.
Just a note to add that M* does have the jellyrolls.
