Good morning friends. Seems like I haven't been here in a while. I worked yesterday and lucky enough my parcel arrived from Texas so I was able to deliver my own parcel. Not much happening around here. Hubby is leaving today for the weekend. He will hook up with Greg and friends and head to Plattsburgh for a golf weekend. Today I was asked to help sell tickets for a big draw in September. Tomorrow is a quilt show and my brother invited me for supper. Any time I don't have to cook is a bonus. Sunday is a free day and then I work on Monday where I can quilt all day. A busy week ahead driving Doug to his appointments and then a shop hop on Friday with Bonnie. I am looking forward to that.

Well have a great weekend friends.

Morning Everyone

I mowed for a few hours yesterday and today I feel like the mower ran over me. We had storms with heavy rain in the wee hours this morning and it's supposed to be a cool day.

I have a good report. Most of you will remember that my DD has been quite ill since October of last year. She has gradually been getting better and yesterday she was hired as an esthetician in a beautiful spa/salon in Manhattan Beach, CA. At first she will work part time, which I think is perfect for her. The money is good and she will also be making a generous commission. We're all thankful she found such a perfect arrangement until she can open her own studio again. Thank you all for the prayers and well-wishes. It's been a long ordeal for her and it's not over with yet. Now she can have a new focus and feel productive again. Another happy note, DGS found himself a summer job working in a coffee shop/sandwich shop. DGD is recovering from having all her wisdom teeth removed and she's pretty miserable.

I was hoping today was going to be productive for me but instead it looks like I'm just going to hang around the house and maybe do a few loads of laundry. I need to go to Wal-Mart but I don't have the energy for that today.

Wishing Everyone a good Friday....Hugs Barb

Morning All! Work-a-day here! :D

Lots of sunshine here and will hit our first 90 degree day Yard was mowed yesterday evening, so it will be spiffy for the weekend! What is it about a manicured lawn that is so appealing anyway? Three lovely days off after today, and will be happily sewing away. Will be dropping by Hobby Lobby/Joann's/Hancocks for some material for the 4 patches from Jenny's tut on Four Patch Frenzy and the Nine Patch Fence Rail. Blissful, quick and pretty patterns both! Might hop over to GF's in Mesquite to hit the Gammill shop, yeah I know, dangerous, but hey it's going to be a gorgeous weekend! Happy Weekend to all! :D

Morning everyone and Happy Friday. Not much new happening here...busy day at work thankfully. Supposed to get some rain today. Found a guy who might be able to repair my patio umbrella which is good because I can't replace it with an identical umbrella...they don't make them anymore! :'( My brother and his wife will be in town for the afternoon and evening. Yep...all the way from PEI and he spends four hours here. Nice. Whatever, he's a snob and so is his wife so it's not like I will enjoy their visit much. Not really looking forward to it at all.

Having a down day today...thinking of the moment when Scott said we should break up...some days it just hits me and reality slaps me in the face that this has really happened to my life...usually in times of stress it's worse and I'm stressed about my brothers visit so I'm sure I will be fine tomorrow.

Thinking of everyone who needs love today. Barb so glad your DD is back on her feet...I know she's been struggling so much. Hope you all have an amazing weekend! xox

Good morning all! We had heavy thunderstorms in our area this morning, the traffic is bad. Lots of accidents and some storm damage. Luckily, my neighborhood just got rain, no strong winds.

Our family is leaving for a week on Tybee Island, GA. Everyone is driving, some leaving today, some tomorrow, but I am flying down on Monday. ( 4 days is enough family togetherness!). I cannot find my swimsuit I bought most recently. Did I burn it hoping I would never have to be seen in a swim suit ever again? Oh well, the old one will work.

Sunday is our local awards ceremony for community theatre musicals done the previous season, our group got nominations in 16 different categories for The Wiz, which we did last summer. I'm nominated for best costume design. We'll see if we get to take home some hardware as a result of all those nominations! Since I want to participate in that ceremony with my theatre friends, I will be delayed in the family vacation. Of course, both things had to fall on the same weekend! But both events have been scheduled for a very long time!

Going to take another lesson on my Janome 15000 again today. Need a refresher on how to download.

Hope you have a great day! Barb, glad to hear your daughter found that nice job!

Mornin' all,
Barb - that's great news about your daughter. Monique, sounds like your weekend will be a good one - enjoy!
I've got a graduation party tonight - my friend's son is graduating from high school. It's such an exciting milestone because he is the first in his family to do so (including parents, aunts, and uncles...). He's a great kid and I'm so happy for him and his mom! A flan has been requested, so I'll start making that in a few minutes.
I've got to make the final call on the quilt so that I can begin piecing the top today or tomorrow. It's gonna be a beast to quilt, so I don't want to leave myself short on time for that.
Hope everyone has a great weekend - Ciao.

It rained all night long!!

Glad to hear Barb's DD is back on her feet. What a journey this has been. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could all be healthy, strong, and wise all the time? I'll take some agility with those wishes, too.

Guess what I'm doing today? Going around in circles.

Morning all! I can't believe it is 1020 am and I'm just waking up for the second time. Woke at 630 to let Casey out, made a cup of tea and did some forum reading. But fell asleep sitting up in recliner and work back up at 10. Casey was still out lying in the sun!
Finally got his food out but he's back to sleep! This on and off sleeping I've been doing has been making me crazy! DH went to bed at 9 pm and is still asleep, DH's DGD went to bed at 10 pm and is still asleep!!
Today is her last day to visit before going back to NY. My DD will come here about noon and pick her up to have some visiting time before she takes her to the airport this evening. It was a fun visit.
Off to see eye surgeon at 4 today about cataract surgery. Then a weekend of purging the bed room!!! New floors coming on the 17 th. I know I miss getting any sewing done, but it has to wait a while longer!!

I'm happy to read the good news for many of you!
Wendy, hang in there, it will get better!!!
Hugs to all!

It sounds like everyone is busy, busy. Happy for your daughter's job and the Summer job as well.

I am lucky to have an afternoon off to play in my sewing room. We have been doing some remodeling at our DS after a leak problem that turned into repairing the foundation. We finally have a new floor in the most damaged room and need to do the baseboards. Lucky for me DS is working from home today in that room. That means I can sew to my hearts content.
Have a lovely weekend everyone.

I had to stay off the computer yest. eve. There was too much severe weather in the area. The tornado warning siren went off at 6:45 and 7:45 last eve. A tornado touched down N. of our town. A lot of hail in some locations, along with heavy rain & flooding in some areas. I'm not doing anything here except the bare essentials. I'm sick with some virus -- sinus congestion, cough, fever, achy. Definitely no sewing getting done. Maybe next week.

Good afternoon everyone! OMG Sandy,I can totally agree with you cartoon doggie. And I can laugh about it too!

I am still homeschooling my youngest, Catherine. After intense talks with the principal, they will be able to accommodate the necessary teacher assignments but not until September. Catherine was a bit disappointed but she is also happier to be at home where she can learn without her "high alert" state kicking in. The principal is extremely helpful and though there is a small part of me that is staying cautious and careful, I think we are finally heading in the right direction.

We have had some outstanding progress to her therapy. They actually started it!!! What was appearing to be a long, drawn out wait, is now a weekly session. Already we have been twice and this dr has such an upbeat and practical approach (as well as a caring, nuturing attitude) that I am taking my first breath of relief in a very long time. This dr told me that it takes time for a trust relationship to develop....my God, I actually heard common sense!!! So we will be continuing the weekly sessions for most of the summer. It has been terrifying to say the least, to not know what to do and be afraid to do the wrong thing. Now we have the knowledgeable guidance, we feel truly blessed. Thank you to all those who have kept us in your thoughts and prayers; you were heard!

Good News about Barb's and Sandy B's DDs and also sewbuzzy's DGD confirmation and all the family activities.

I've been spending a lot of time at the computer as it's in the room we call our office and that room is the closest room to the downstairs bathroom. Found out Sunday that I have a UTI am on antibiotics and drinking lots of water and cranberry juice. I'd drink a gallon at a time if I knew I'd release it all at once but these constant potty calls are wearing me out. I've never had a UTI)before and pray that this is the one and only one I have.

I don't know what is wrong with me but I just can't get motivated to do anything. I have binding to do on two quilts, a chevron quilt started and laying in a pile on the guest bed and an almost completed bionic bag. The house is a mess and tons of laundry and the kitchen floor needs moping. I keep finding excuses just to sit and do nothing. Grand daughter is here and she is no trouble off doing her own thing.

Sun's out and it's going to only get hotter around here. We received the call to day that Hay will be cut almost a month earlier than normal! This weekend will be spent cleaning out the barn and readying it for the 2015 season. Good news on that front.

My sister has the report back from the pathologist's office. There were no cancer cells detected in the fluid and the tissue sample came back benign! Whoo Hoo! The surgeon was pretty sure those would be the results, but we still held our breath until the final lab work came back. Happy Dancing has commenced with this news.

Well, I can't put off the war with the weeds any longer. Wish me luck!
Hugs and smiles for all y'all! C

Lots of activity around here - congratulations to those achieving great things, safe travels for those going here and there, and prayers for those needing them.

TMP -I have days like that - mostly in the winter. Do you need some sunshine perhaps? A lot of areas have had so much rain, well, that certainly doesn't help. I find it very easy to make excuses - it's just called procrastination and lots of days I have to work on putting one foot in front of the other. Perhaps tomorrow will be better.

Hugs
