They are still not fully out but had to show these gorgeous flowers. My son gave this plant to me 2 years ago for mothers day. You can see the beautifully weeded but empty iris bed in the background with just some yellow iris in it. I have some purple wild ones the kids dug up from around the swampy water a few years ago that will go there after blooming season. Enjoy and thanks for looking!

Very pretty!! I also like the gate used as a trellis for the clematis. Gives me an idea how to use the old gate that came from the family farm.

The peonies are about to bust open the buds can barely contain the flower pushing to come out. Will take pics of them if the rain doesn't ruin them! Here is what they look like today. Also the empty iris bed with just yellow which were a gift from a friend of mom's when I was maybe 8 or 9. and the wild purple ones that will go in the bed after blooming. My peony on the left is a slip from my Grandmother given to me by an aunt when I was 16 and we moved away from that house. I have moved it twice with me now. The one on the right was here when we moved in.

Yes! And this is why you can't have too many different varieties of clematis. Beauty all summer and in the fall with my personal favorite clematis paniculata.

My clemantis are late this year due to the cold, wet spring. They're just starting to bud. 110378110379 These are pics from a previous season. The purple one was here when we bought the house in 1978. The pink one I planted maybe 35 yrs. ago. I have one different variety that blooms late in the summer/early fall that has little white flowers on it. I enjoy them every season. Over the yrs., I've pretty much switched all my flower gardens to perennials. I plant a few geraniums & dusty miller in the front bed each year & buy 3 large flower pots for the back patio.

I enjoyed looking at the gorgeous Clematis vines. My Mom loved them and had them all over their yard. Sweet memories.
