Hello Folksies ! Happy Friday, Happy May, Happy Weekend!

It's been raining here a whole lot. As in some nasty thunderstorms. I happen to like to hear thunder. That is as long as I am in my house. I can't enjoy thunderstorms down at Mom's. She is sort of like my dog, who walks around, trembles and drools. Hey, I am not making fun of my Mom. A fact is a fact. She is a nervous puppy dog when it storms. The upside for her is that she gets ME to stay with her. lol. And on Wednesday night, sis and I both stayed with the Moms. Cat had a wonderful birthday dinner and we both decided to stay at Mommy's for the night.
For Sis's birthday it was still rather cool during the day, so wearing my lightweight hoodie, she and I weeded first at her house and then down at Mom's for a change of scenery and a different set of weeds.
Yesterday was pretty much a repeat of Wednesday after a morning at the salon. We weeded until the storms came back and then I was teaching sis all about pinterest. Oh yes, I did. We discovered that we still laugh at the same things we did as kids. I warned her how addictive it is. After a few minutes on it, she didn't need to ask me how I knew. She was already hooked.

Alrighty folksies, I am going to get ready for a full day at the salon. It starts at dark thirty today and I won't be back home until dark thirty tonite. I smile when I think of how tired I will be. So tired that I won't cook. Sounds like take out tonite.

Now go forth and smile! Special prayers for those in need. Blessings for all.

Good Morning, Blondie. Sounds like a very full day. Even though it's full and you'll be working hard I know you'll have lots of laughs with your clients. Enjoy.

Nothing much new here. I'm working on a quilt from McCall's Quiltalong on QNNTV. It's a fun one with lots of different techniques so it doesn't get boring. It's also a great scrap buster. I woke up in the middle of the night worrying about my sister's cancer problems and my daughter with the eating disorder. Why does life have to be fraught with so many problems? I'll try to keep smilin', Blondie, but some days it's a tall order.

Morning Everyone,

Where did April go? I mowed after dinner last night until dark. It jolted me around more than usual and this morning my back and hips feel it. I will finish up tomorrow.

Blondie I'm glad you and Sis had a great day together for her birthday. I miss my sisters.

I like the new tutorial on the chevron variation. I have another chevron variation I'm gathering fabric to make. Before I start it I need to deal with a couple of UFOs laying around here. I think Reggie will be home from vacation next week and I think a trip to see her is in order.

Wishing everyone a fun Friday.

Good morning. I've got 5 Grands asleep here with visions of wearing their Grandparents to a frazzle over the next 2 days dancing in their heads. Basketball, bonfire, zoo trip, breakfast out, movies, constant chatter and giggling, walks around the lake, football games and constant foraging for food. This will be my weekend. I love it!

Hugs and prayers for all in need.....

Morning all,
Another sunny day in my neighborhood. Plants are all popping up and should put on a nice display of color soon. Blondie, I must admit gardening is not my favorite thing but you make pulling weeds and getting out there sound like fun!
Still plodding away on my latest project. After having to rip half my work out it is not going back together quite as easily. Those bias edges have stretched out a bit and sewing them back now takes a little more work easing the fabric back in to match seams up. I'll be glad to see this one done.
Well, my 3 feral cats are sitting at the sunroom door looking for their breakfast so I better get a move on. I've had them 9 years now, trapped them all and had them neutered. After all these years they reward me by letting me give them one pet on they head when I bring their food out. Geez, after all these years ya think they'd know by now who I am. If I don't have food in my hand I can't touch them.
Wishing you all a good day with hugs to you all.

Good morning friends. Rebecca, I will say prayers for both of them and hugs to you.

Well today is THE day. A HUGE retirement party for my brother-in-law tonight. He sold his bar. I am the DD and my plan is to drive them all there, come back home and wait for them to call me for the pick up. It is not much fun being the DD sometimes. There will be so many people there. I want to spend Saturday with Maizyn all to myself anyway while the rest are recuperating. I have things planned for us to do.

All my children are coming home this weekend. I may get a family picture in here somewhere if I can gather them all together. Greg's birthday is Sunday for a breakfast brunch is what he asked for. Today I am making baked beans to have on hand. Tacos for Saturday supper. Needless to say there has been no sewing at all this week for me. I will try to get back to it on Monday.

Les and I were talking about a little mini vacation in a couple of weeks. We are meeting Greg in Boston on the 23rd of May. He asked if there was anywhere I would like to go. Keepsake Quilting, I said, if it is doable. He checked out the map and it is DOABLE. There seems to be a lot of antique shops around as well. If anyone is in that area, any recommendations or suggestions? I am getting excited.

Did I mention my children are coming?

Have a wonderful weekend friends. Did I mention the kids are coming? LOL!!

Good morning everyone and Happy Friday. Sounds like you and your sis had a great time Blondie. :) I got to actually speak with my sister yesterday evening after a week of just e-mails and posts on family chat or a text. She and her boyfriend were down there taking care of his daughter's two little girls (2 1/2 and 1) because his daughter had gall bladder surgery last week. She was exhausted! LOL Libby, sounds like you may be a little tired after this weekend too for sure. But such a great kind of tired I am sure.

Barb, sorry you are hurting this morning. Take it easy when you go back out there. I have a feeling I will be experiencing the same type of aches and pains after this weekend. The weather looks like it is going to be good for getting a bunch of stuff done outside.

Rebecca, (((((hugs))))) to you and prayers for peace and healing for you and your family.

Monique, I heard a rumor that your family is coming. :) Have a stupendous weekend.

Well, time to watch the Friday tutorial and then a bp check (it's been good the last two mornings, :icon_woohoo: ) and maybe a few minutes in my sewing room laying out another few blocks for my lattice quilt. I got the cutting table all cleaned up as well as a bit more of my sewing room last night while watching Quiltcam so it's ready to go

Have a wonderful day all. See you later.

I just popped in to let ya know you don't have to send the ransom... I escaped!

I wandered down to the basement and got trapped in the wash area for the past two days. Finally worked my way thru the Piles of clothes by washing & drying them. Whew!! For a bunch of adults, we sure pile up the dirties. Now the large folding table is piled with CLEAN stuff...

We go to the dr for DD#2's scan results ... it should tell us if the cancer has spread. Will let ya all know what our next step will be after this visit... meeting is at 3:15 pm.

Meanwhile, I can keep busy with some dusting and vacuuming. My family has always cleaned , Cleaned, CLEANED! when we are waiting for News... My Gram had 5 sons in the service and spent many hours scrubbing floors on her hands and knees as she waited for news during WWII & korea. She said it kept her humble and on her knees. She's right!!

Morning everyone. I had a test last night. It was to determine whether I needed my oxygen or not. I was up and down all night. Oh well, it was an easy test.

I'm going to sew rows of my Hunter Star quilt together today, I think. I just love it when a plan comes together.

Hugs for all of you who have troubles. It's hard to watch our loved ones suffer.
Wendy hope the move goes well.

Good thoughts for all.

Oh ya. Monique s FAMILY IS COMING!!!! ;).

Morning all. I've been up since 7 with Casey and the grand puppy Finn who is here till Sunday. DD and her BF are in Myetle Beach this week. I can tell Finn misses my DD as he keeps looking out the window! He is such a good boy and DD has him well trained. He gets eye drops every morning. I pulled out the bottle and he just sat down and waited for his drops. Too cute!
DH seems to be feeling a bit better. He is trying to get a better nights sleep rather than sleeping on and off all day. It only took me a month to convince him that sleeping all night was better!! He has less chest pain and less dizziness which is so good! He's more positive when the weather is good too!
Received my MSQC fabric order yesterday. Need to get a baby quilt done for DH's new great grand due in May. That will be GG # 5 ranging in age from zero to 18!! One boy and 4 girls!!
So I hope all have a good day. Hope Wendy has a good moving day today! Not sure if she's back on the grid yet with the move!
Hugs to all who need them! Peace for Baltimore, they need it!!

Good morning! Judy, I hope your DD gets good results from her scan. Barb, I understand the mower jolts...sometimes mowing my yard is like mowing a washboard. Blondie, have fun with your clients today. I'm sure a day at your salon is full of fun. Sandy, enjoy your time in Hamilton. I'd love to go there someday. Monique and Libby, enjoy your family time.

It's been a bit of a rough week here. DH's 93 year old aunt decided to move to the nursing home. She's been like a 2nd mom to DH and the move was difficult for him. But, she's liking it so far and that's helping him feel better too. He's having to adjust to not seeing her every morning and evening.

It's Derby week here in KY. I watch it on TV and don't get involved otherwise. I think I may go to the Amish auction this afternoon and look for ferns for my front porch. Hopefully, it will warm up enough soon that I can put out the few flowers that I plant. I can drop in at the quilt shop on the way too. Have a great Friday!

Good morning all :)
I haven't posted in a while (haven't sewn in a while either...). Just wanted to check in and say hi.
So, today I will be doing more reading so that I can not kill what goes here...

No going back now! I have NEVER gardened - only occasionally killed a few potted plants here and there. It's small; just 2 4X4 sections and a few raspberry and blueberry bushes by the edge of my fence. We'll see how it goes! I do want to get back into the sewing room too - so many ideas :)
Hope everyone has a fantastic day.

Good morning all. Have the day off from work today so going to get some personal business done, hair appt., and sewing. Working on a wedding quilt and baby quilt to start. Today is a sad day too. 7 years ago today I lost a very good friend. She was killed by a drunk driver. Laura was a sheriff and worked cases of kidnapped kids, etc. We called her Martha Stewart with a gun - she did everything: horse training, gave riding lessons, made the most awesome wedding cakes, Christmas was her holiday and it always looked like Santa's Village. She did it all and was taken too soon. So today I will send her love and hugs and miss her terribly.

Have a stellar day all and praying for all that need prayers.

Good morning all. Spent the night at DD's last night and did NOT sleep. I did for about 2 hrs, which is no where near what this gal needs.
Blondie, I need a haircut so bad...and wish you could do it...that would be so much fun.
Barb, April was spent in hospitals and doctors offfices. Glad to see it gone. Onward and upward.
Monique...your family is coming!!!!
Libby, have fun with the grands.
Judy, prayers for the DD's test results.
Sandy, have fun in Hamilton (green with envy)
Rebecca, prayers also
After a much needed nap in a bit...I need to cut fabric, and get it ready for shipping. I am selling a little here and there on FB. That is fine with me, I don't want it to be a full time job. Just a little extra $ for the retreat in the fall.
DH and I are having a date tonight, now that he feels like he can be more than 10 ft from the nearest bathroom. We are going to the casino for all you can eat crab legs, and throw some money away on the slot machines. When our gambling $ is gone, so are we. We can both do some serious damage to the crab legs though....gotta make sure we get our $ worth.
I do have some good, and bad news at the same time. One of my estranged sisters and I have mended our fences. I let go of that bone a long time ago, but some people it takes longer. Now is the time. Her DH has been diagnosed with a very rare, and aggressive cancer. He will start an aggressive regimen of chemo on Wed. Prayers for them would be most welcomed.
Off to grab a bite, and then to bed.
Love and blessings to all. Prayers for those in need.

Good Afternoon! We've been to the end of the school year picnic most of the day, some time spent in the backyard and now headed back out to enjoy the glorious day before the rain starts for the next several days.

Have a great weekend everyone :)
