Good morning....YAWN I had a rough night. Did you know that at 3 o'clock or so this morning there were only 4 members on site(two of which were from the other side of the world - not late for them) ? There just wasn't much happening and I needed something to do that didn't require me thinking too hard. Oh well, I did manage to get a little more sleep and I'll be awake in a few minutes.
Today is another rainy day, so I guess I won't be doing any painting outside. I think I'll go to JoAnn Fabrics! That'll wake me up! lol! I have just a bunch of little jobs to do around the house today and maybe some cooking.

Have a great quilting day if you can work it in!

Good morning hUGs...so wanted to sleep in but just didn't happen. Making coffee and will throw a load of laundry on. Didn't accomplish anything last night. Tonight going to work on my exchange blocks. Lamp next to computer is burnt out so I am having a hard time typing so I will keep this short as well. Have a fun safe day everyone!

Good Wed. morning to you all! Quite foggy here this morning, but I'm hopeful the sun will be out soon.
Anxious to hear how Agnes made out with her tests, Sandy.
Hope you get to take a nap later, Bec. Enjoy the class, Nancy. Sew up a storm, Monique!
Have a good day everyone.

It's horrid weather here, the seasons are on the turn that's for sure! The site kind of looks all new and spangly-ish which is nice.
Baby is sleeping(yay!) and I'm having a cuppa.

Hope, like everyone else, that the baby Agnes is ok.

It's a cool, sunshiny day here - perfect weather for me. Those darned squirrels waited until I was ready to fall asleep last night before they started lamblasting the roof and windows. Blasted long-tailed RATS!

Agnes had an x-ray of her tummy yesterday which came back normal. The ultrasound will be done in the morning. The doctor's office in Kansas City finally called back and the nurse told DD that if Agnes had blood in her stool to bring her in. DD told them that she was trying to avoid having blood in the stool and that's the reason she was calling. Agnes has been sleeping well but isn't eating as much as she normally does. Puzzling. At least we know that Zoe hasn't fed her any pennies or other foreign objects.

Going with DD and Zoe to see a speech therapist this morning. Zoe talks up a storm but you can barely understand her. Never had a problem with any of the rest of them. I told DD that it's only because the other girls jump and run whenever Zoe opens her mouth so she doesn't need to learn how to speak properly.

Didn't accomplish much yesterday. Started remaking my Corn & Beans block and all of a sudden got this spacey feeling so I gave up and retired to bed - slept for 5 hours. Think it must have been because I was up after midnight Tuesday morning.

I have requests for two Halloween costumes this year - Rita is going to be easy - she wants to be a Beagle puppy so I'm ordering a white sweatshirt with hood and pants. I'll use felt for all the spots and ears. EZ. Everyone else is taken care of except Sierra who wants a Silver Mist (friend of Tinkerbell) costume. She keeps reminding me that there is only ONE shoulder strap on the costume. I may cheat on this one and buy a premade and remake it for her!! Don't tell!!

There is a local quilt/sewing machine shop that is owned by a woman who attends our quilt guild. I got a message yesterday that she is having a 30% off sale so I'm hoping to get down and check it out this afternoon. As if I need anything, but who can pass up a bargain. I've only been in this store once and it was years ago before Lana bought it - and I was turned off. It's also a bit off the beaten path so I am past the turn-off before I ever remember to check it out. If I wind up spending money there I had best come up with another clever means to sneak it into the house . . . DH has caught onto me so many times!!

Off of here - someone wish me a productive day!! I'm sending prayers and warm wishes to everyone! Thanks to everyone who has said a prayer for Agnes, too!!

How all checks out with agnes, sandy. YOu know you could have a good point with little Zoe. We had that issue with a couple of ours. DD2 didn't talk(much) until she was nearly 3. we had to stop DD1 from talking for her. Made a world of difference.
Our DS did have some speech problems, so did DD3. They put him in speech therapy at school and I asked about DD cause she was having the same issues. they told me if they got DS's speech corrected hers would be too. she was imitating him.

Bec, i'm usually one here around 3 am. i work graveyard and get on here a bit to wind down after work.

I finally got the last quilting done on my little quilt. binding is on, ready to be hand sewn down. Have two more tops to quilt. I bought some of that iron=on tape to piece batting together. i usually zigzig it but thought i would give this a try. I should be upstairs doing that instead of sitting here....... oh well.

Happy Hump Day!

Sandy, you need to show the squirels some love, they are very sensitive to the "hate". ; )

Glad to hear the pennies are not in Agnes' tummy, my fear is that Ollie is going to start eating Zander's lego pieces.

Worked on the Q4K top yesterday, it nice that they send you pre-cut squares in theory...had to square them up and some are off by more than 1/8". Going to be fun piecing. Think some volunteer hit Daisy's gin bottle while cutting. lol

Have three boxes due from Cali, they should have been here on the 19th, hope they get delivered today. It will be like XMas, haven't seen the fabric in ages, was stuck in a closet and DD packed them up at the last minute for me before we left CA.

Well, time to set up my dolphins table to start sewing...

Prayers to Agnes and all in need. Aloha, Ruby

Hello, Just got back from a jaunt to Joann's. They have a bunch of 40% coupons and a couple of 50% ones. I didn't see anything I wanted. We may have to go to the City to check out Rochester's Joann's. They are super stores up there. Had lunch with 3 friends and came home.
Just in time to have Ontario Country issue a water alert for my town of Hopewell. We must have had a water break. I have to boil water until further notice. Boo!
Update on Emily: Her ANC level went up 350 points. And all her blood values went up some across the board. Not enough, but at least it is going up and not down. She is still on a nutrapenic diet though. Joe and Heather are making an appointment with the doctor without any kids present, to ask questions. Heather took all three kids with her for a check up for Em and everyone got upset so she wasn't able to have a go at the doctors. They keep saying if she gets to this number, we'll panic and do such and such. Then when she hits the "panic" number, they say "we'll wait until next week and see how she does. One doctor even threw out the remission word, but the other two shook their heads. So they don't even agree with each other. Emily was crying cause she had to have another bone marrow biopsy and Laura was crying because Emily was upset, and Sarah was upset cause she left her toys in the car. And Heather said "I must have been nuts!" Anyway, the last time they did the biopsy they used Propopal and Emily stopped breathing and they worked on her for 35 minutes before they got her back. They said they would use it again. Heather told them that wasn't wise. At any rate she felt pushed around and not answered. So she and Joe will go alone. I'll stay with the kids.
It's like a roller coaster ride every single week. Up, down, panic, don't panic. Because of the way they are acting we are panicking. We will take the up numbers and be happy till next week. They aren't doing the biopsy until late October. Why then, and not now? No answer. I think it's time to go to John Hopkins! I think as a cancer hospital for kids they are fine, maybe, but they admit they are not specialists in Aplastic Anemia. One doctor even warned them to not allow them to do a bone marrow transplant because they don't do them right on kids. Now what? Joe has been on the phone with 3 other hospitals, John Hopkins, one in Ohio and one in Seattle, Wash. One doctor said "she will be nutrapenic for the rest of her life, how ever long that is." In front of the kids no less. Heather was so upset when she got in car she called Joe at work and tried to explain without upsetting the kids even more, cause she was in tears herself. What a Mess!!! I told her, "Honey, why didn't you call me to stay with the younger kids and just take Emily?" She said they are usually so good but it just went from bad to worse! I think I will get the call next time. She had planned to take the kids shopping and out to lunch etc. and didn't think there would be a problem. I remember doing that, just once! LOL
Thank you for prayers, the numbers went up, so you all helped! Thank you!
Prayers for baby Agnes are still ongoing. Barb, how is your husband doing? better I hope. Prayers for him too. And everyone else on the mend or sick call. I love you all, Hugs, Jan L.

oh jan that is so scary! Will be praying for all of you to get thru this

September 21st, 2011, 06:52 PM
Prayers are headed upward for 2 very special little granddaughters--Emily and Agnes. Prayers also for their wonderful grandmothers Jan and Sandy. How blessed those little ones are to have you both in their lives! Praying for peace regardless of the outcome of tests. They are in the hands of our loving Savior.

It's been a very long couple of weeks for me. But I finished my one tax course last night and now feel like I can breath again. I even managed to do a little sewing today. It felt good! Gotta get my floral blocks finished for the swap. I'm working on numbers 16 thru 20 (I like to do them in small batches so I don't get bored with too much assembly line piecing). So I'm almost there. Wondering which UFO I will tackle after that. Those are growing faster than I like.

Well, its time to kick back and relax now, so everyone have a great evening.

Oh Jan...how strong you all are....such scary issues to deal with let alone getting proper answers. Why are doctors like that?? Is it something they teach them in medical school?
My prayers are still going out to Emily and to the rest of you trying desperately to understand and get some answers....

September 22nd, 2011, 12:32 AM
Sorry for all your troubles, Jan. Hang in there.
