View Full Version : I guess it's my turn!

My sis has been having problems with her tongue. After a number of years of keeping an eye on it, it has become cancerous. She is now facing more agressive surgery to have part of her tongue removed. Please pray that the additional testing on her esophagus and lungs comes back negative. I know many of you are strong in prayer so if you would keep Diana in your prayers I'd be really grateful. We usually email back and forth a couple of times a week (since I'm in the Netherlands and she's in Virginia) but I picked up the phone and we talked for about an hour. I'm glad I called. I think it helped. We did a lot of laughing, and laughing is always a good thing especially when one is having fears. Thank you.

This is scary news. I will be adding Diana to the prayer list and for you to help her through this too.
Hoping her other organs are negative.

I have never met a Diana I did not like. I am thinking of her and I am sending her some good vibes too. Since I am in Virginia, those good vibes can get to her pretty fast.
Keep the faith, Rebecca!!!

Ugh! Good thoughts and prayers to you and your sister.

A friend of mine, his mom had a sore on her tongue. The doctors never paid too close attention to it, even when she asked them about it. Her dentist is the one that told her to see a specialist and he was right. It was the beginning of tongue cancer.

Joan - Actually, Joe has our phone over here hooked up through the computer so it doesn't cost anything more than if I was calling Diana from California. We needed to set this up so our family could keep in close communication with us at all times. Diana doesn't have internet connection in her house. She's a big reader so when she goes to the library she emails me. (We usually hear from each other at least twice a week.) Both of us like writing so it's fun sort of being penpals. I definitely need to pick up the phone and call her more often now that she's having this trouble. I asked if she wants me to come home but she said it's not necessary. I think going home will depend on what the test results produce. If there is spreading, that will mean more than just surgery. In which case, my time here may be ending much sooner than the fall. I'm hoping all the praying all of you are so kind to do for us will bring negative test results. If they do come back with a negative result, we're just hoping this more aggressive treatment will eliminate the cancer.
