    Pirates - Aye Matie!

Yesterday, Joe and I ventured into the city of Utrecht to join his boss and boss's wife for Thai food at a restaurant along the canal. After lunch here at home we caught a train into Utrecht and visited some of the second-hand shops along the canal (a favorite thing to do). After we were done shopping we had a couple of hours to kill before meeting up with our dinner partners. We decided to sit in what we consider a pub (don't know what the Dutch call it). It is a cozy and quite small place with lots of windows that look out onto the canal. We had a great table sitting right by those windows so we had a wonderful view of the canal and all the passersby. At the table next to us were two men enjoying their beer. I told Joe one of them most definitely looked like a pirate. He had tattoos all over one side of his face, down his neck AND he was sporting a peg leg. So, do you believe in pirates? Yesterday, sitting in that pub (and after consuming a few beers over a couple of hours' time) I was definitely believing in pirates. hahaha

Oh Rebecca, thanks for the smile this morning. You just never know what you will see these days. And yes, you should have taken his picture.

I'm not so sure asking to take his picture would've been a good idea! He might've tied me to the gang plank and sent me to the depths. hahaha

My favorite was on South Park when Cartman and his buddies decided to run away and be pirates...and he had heard that there were some in Somalia...and when he got there he decided to take it upon himself to teach them how to be "real" pirates...lol
