Reminds me of the National Geographic where the elephants and monkeys ate fermented fruit.

Haven't seen squirrels get drunk, but have seen deer drunk many times. They gather around apple trees and hang out, eating the rotten fallen apples. The young bucks get to fighting then. It's just like a human bar, I guess.

We have a Japanese pear tree and Oscar lived for when that tree might drop a pear on the ground!! This last year we muzzled him. He would actually hop up from the ground and pick the fruit off the branches that hung low enough for him to grab. I'm sure he would gain ten pounds each year from it, then we put him on a diet till about February and he was back down to his normal weight. Oh, how he hated that muzzle!

ROFLMBO, ok that was good, and boy howdy, that squirrel was drunker than Hooter Brown!

Several years ago the remnant of a nasty hurricane blew through here and knocked a bunch of over ripe apples off the trees and into one of the alpaca pastures. A big rangy yearling male, who loved apples more than anything else, gobbled up waaaay too many. Let's just say it was far funnier than the squirrel!
Although I suspected the apples because he was stumbling around, moaning, acting goofy, and falling on his face just like a sloppy drunk at a party, I still called the vet out because there is a spinal disease that also makes them look drunk.
Tests were negative and she laughed her butt off! :D

I needed a good laugh today. Actually I need a little of what they had.

Just goes to tell you that we're closer relatives of the animals with the same faults!! Love hearing about the alpaca. Too funny.

We didn't have a Hooter (or Cooter) brown around here, but we did have Oscar George.

I have not seen any of those. Those poor animals had no idea they were getting drunk.

That squirrel was funny, never seen that before. Bet he has a hangover the next day!

LOL! It seems that when squirrels get drunk they go into the drunken matrix just like people do!!!
