    DD NEWS!

Turns out my DD has a gallbladder that is, for all purposes, Non Functioning. All other tests were good! Thank God and thank you to all of you who prayed for us. We meet with surgeon tomorrow. It will be Laproscopic, so the recovery will be quick. ( I hope). We are here in snow packed R.I. and I have many friends and relatives who are
"watching" my mom back in VA. Although they tell me, she wants to take care of them! I missed those 70 degree sunny days! Thanks to all again. I've said it before, I LOVE THIS FORUM.

That WHEW that rushed past me this morning was you letting the pent up 'hold your breath' out. Glad that it isn't more serious.

          Yea!

But, she still needs to take it easy and be careful of what she eats. No fatty foods for a while and this includes cheese. I had this surgery 5 years ago and at the 3 week point I had some cheese and yikes!

That is exactly what the Gastro Dr. told her yesterday, to ease into fatty foods to see how her digestive system handles it . So thank you for your wise advice. this has been a loooong process since she also had a kidney infection around Christmas. We just did not know what we were dealing with. she travels so much for her job, so its airports, hotels, eating out and not always able to get healthy choices. She will have to take it easy for about three weeks, no flying because she is not supposed to lift things that might be heavy. I am grateful for that! Thanks again.

I went through this a few years ago. Only off work 3 days. Lost a lot of weight after surgery. I was told to eat rice, mashed potatoes and oatmeal and to stay away from fast food, spicy or BBQ food.

I found the weight and then some.

                        Re: DD NEWS!

Glad they were able to locate the problem. Dh and my brother's both had ones that become non-functioning. I had to have mine removed three months after baby #3.

Do use caution with any food - bananas set mine off even after surgery.
