View Full Version : I need some moral SUPPORT

February 3rd, 2015, 10:55 PM
Sorry that I only seem to post when I need some support. But what a day I have had today.
Today my drain hose on my washer came out of the hole it belongs in and flooded by house today. My washer is in the 2 nd floor. So needless to say it's ruined the carpeting upstairs, the sheet rocked ceiling in my kitchen and hallway is soaked and needs to come down. The water was pouring out the light fixture on top of my cooktop in the Kitchen Island which has electrical parts with the Fan ect. The water went all the way to the basement.
So like that was not enough for one day. I FINALLY get the call about my BOSTON appt to see the Specialist regarding my eyes and Auto-immune disease. Guess what??? They don't take my insurance!!!
So when the washer incident happened. I called my husband because I needed help. Well, one glorious thing happened today. My husband was spared being in a very bad car accident trying to get home to help me. He said something told him to stay back away from the car in front of him. And he said the next thing he knew a truck came out of no where and crossed in front of him and between the car in front of him. He said it just missed him and it went about 4 feet deep into a snow bank. I thank god that he was spared today! But I got today right now my stress level is on overload. Tomorrow the cleaning company is bringing in dehumidifiers so we are going to a Hotel because that will send my eyes crazy out of control.
Thanks for listening to my rant. I feel a little better 😔😙

Oh no! Sounds like a most upsetting day. Glad your husband is okay. Water damage is no fun. I have wondered about these builders putting laundry on the second floor. Sorry for all your struggles. Hope things improve tomorrow.

Wow, I'm sorry you had such a bad day. I'd say, when it rains it pours but that does sound like a bad pun considering your experience. I'm so glad your husband was safe and that's the most important thing. Also I gather you had coverage for the house repairs? That sure helps if so. Hopefully the rest of the week will be much better.

So glad you were able to see the blessing in all that mess! Sorry about the water damage and the insurance snafu. Praises on the safe hubby!

Dang Fannie. When it rains it pours (no pun intended). I am so sorry all of this has happened to you. I am very thankful that your DH listened to his inner voice.

That water damage should all be covered by your homeowners...hope that is good news!!! We had a pipe come undone in the upstairs bathroom and it went thru the floor, thru the kitchen ceiling and floor and into the basement where it was about 6" deep. They took care of everything. I think we had to run those huge noisy fans about a week to dry everything out, but since you will be in a hotel, that should not be a problem for you.

I hope you get everything worked out plumbing, and eyewise.

I'm glad that your husband is okay. But sorry about the rest of your day. Is there anyway that the specialist will work with you since they will not take your insurance? I hope that your house can get cleaned out and restored quickly.

Oh no!!! Fannie, we went thru something similar last winter. Flooded basement, source unknown because sump pump worked, but after everything was dried out, the sump pump did die and had to redo it all. This time no carpet. Many years ago we had a water pipe freeze in the attic of our old home, again in winter. It burst and water was coming out of all the light fixtures before the ceiling finally fell !!... I know your pain first hand, but all will get better. At least you will get a new paint job out of it.

Your DH was wise to listen to that little voice, wonderful he wasn't injured. As to the health issue, will pray for a solution.

Well, it's a new day and things don't seem quite as tragic except that I can hardly move today . I guess yesterday's stress and me jumping into emergency mode has stirred up the auto-immune system. I feel like I was in a car wreck.

But I just wanted to thank all of you for your kind words of support ☺️

I hope today is a better day for you.

Oh Fannie! I am so sorry you are going thru all of this at once! I know exactly what it feels like for you to be in stress overload with your AI diseases. Please take care of yourself and let others deal with the things till you get back on your feet, pain wise!
Sending you giant hugs!
Call your insurance company and tell them you need a specialist like the doctor you were referred too. If they don't have any others, they ask them to arrange a consultation for you with this doctor under your insurance. It has been done before by many ins carriers, but you have to be persistent!!! Good luck!!!

Some good advice given here. I'm so sorry for your troubles. I hope you'll be feeling better really soon. Thank goodness your husband didn't get in a wreck.

Fannie.......I sure hope today will be better for you. Glad your husband is okay.

I tend to call those inner voices "God's Whispers of Warning" and I am so glad your hubby heeded it. Sending encouraging hugs for all the upheaval, and I hope the house gets back in order very soon for you.

First, PRAISE GOD that your DH is okay! That is a miracle that he knew to stay back away from that car. What a blessing to have him with you safe and sound.

Second, I will pray for your health and the insurance situation. You need the right care and you shouldn't have to worry about what your insurance will or will not pay. I will pray that this gets resolved in a way that gives you peace.

Third, your house! This sounds terrible to me, completely overwhelming. I would be in shock, so I wonder if you are. I will pray that things get fixed and that your house is restored to you good as new as soon as possible.

When we had water damage this past summer (burst pipe) our homeowners insurance paid for the hotel we had to stay in while the de-humidifiers were running for 3 days. Be sure to talk to your homeowners, they were so quick with acting for us, I was pleasantly surprised.

I also agree that you need to advocate re:eye specialist, your carrier needs to help work something out!!

Thank heavens your husband was spared the car accident.

Tomorrow is another day!!

so sorry this happened to you. Hope you can get it sorted...both the house and seeing a specialist. (((HUGS)))

Thank you for all your prayers and everyone else that is praying. Today the demolition guys are here tearing out all the Sheetrock. It's looking like we are heading to a hotel for the next few days due to dehumidifiers and my Sjorgrns. My eyes are dry enough....so sucking the moisture out of my house will also suck it out of me.

I'll keep you posted to what is happening!
I've got to remember things could be a lot worse than they are.

If your health insurance carrier won't work with you, ask the care provider if he/she would consider getting added to the insurance. I had a provider do that for me so I could get my son's visits to her covered.
