I have a friend who is in Chicago for a conference. Said she stood in the cold for over an hour trying to get someplace she was invited and finally gave up before she went back to her room.

Just talked to our daughters in Illinois. One went to stay with the other, so they're "enjoying" this storm together. Being California girls, they don't really know how to live in that kind of weather!

Southern Illinois did not get a flake of snow yet...so all of Illinois is not closed....maybe just Chicago.

It's almost 1 am, temperature is 19 degrees, (real feel -5 degrees) and almost 2 feet of snow on the ground. Monday's high will be 16 degrees; yep just another winter day here in Chicago.

The snow is passing us by, but dumping rain instead. Don't know what's worse. If it snows there is shoveling to do and if it rains I have to pray the basement doesn't flood (I'm only nervous because it did last year).
