I have a black thumb. I don't even have good luck with silk plants/flowers. I have been shocked that this Christmas Cactus my friend and neighbor Margaret gave me has survived and even thrived. Maybe there is such a thing as a Christmas miracle.

Got a giggle out of your bad luck with even silk plants. Me too! My kitten just brought me a present, my silk fern. sigh

Love this! We had one that survived on benign neglect and bloomed every Christmas!

I love Christmas cactus. My dad had one for years and my sister has it now. It always blooms at least 2x a year. A friend of mine has one that is enormous. It belonged to her great grandma and is over 100 years old. She posted a picture of it last week in full bloom.

Bob, I'm with you having a black thumb especially with the flowering cactus, mine never bloomed at Easter or Christmas.

I was pleased and surprised that the one we got as a Christmas gift last year is beginning to bloom. We have several others since they do seem to be OK with our style of neglect and all but one baby one is budding/blooming out. They make me very happy.

Love everyone's Christmas cactus. I have a beauty but she has a mind of her own when it comes to blooming! So I give up and just let her have her own way.
Don't worry about that black thumb.....pointsettias run in fear if I even look at them sideways. :icon_whistle:

I was given mine about three years ago, that is what is so amazing that it is still alive.

Sandy, you are one of a kind. And thank goodness you are ours.
