Tonight I had to search the internet for something that would rid my dog of that dreaded smell after being sprayed by a skunk. Here is the recipe that REALLY DOES WORK if it didn't he wouldn't be in my lap right now :) ......1/4 c hydrogen peroxide, 1/4 c baking soda, 1 tsp mild dish soap (like palmolive) mix in a bowl, give dog bath with it.

We made the same but used vinegar instead of peroxide.

We've always used tomato juice.

That really does work. We have had a couple of dogs sprayed at our cottage in Canada. Those items always go in the supplies when we open for the summer. Brst to have them on hand.

I always keep an extra box of Summers Eve douche it is great to wash the dogs face with and takes the sting out of the eyes without burning them and neutralizes the odor

Here's my recipe, and it does work!

1Qt hydrogen peroxide
1/4 cup baking soda
1 tsp liquid soap (Dawn)

Apply, avoiding eyes and mouth. Wait 15 minutes (this is the hard part), then completely rinse.

With three pugs, I always make sure I have a quart of hydrogen peroxide around. Trust me, I learned the hard way....
