Hello I have a brother sq9050 And I am looking for a piecing foot with a guide that will fit my machine I have looked on brothers website but the one offered does not fit my machine I guess any ideas?
thanks lisa
I got mine from Amazon, but i know Ebay has them as well. I suggest these as they will e better at cost and the descriptions usually show which machines they can be used on. Mine works on my Singer (all three of them) and my Janome. hope this helps
I have that Distinctive 1/4" foot everyone is referencing from amazon. It works fine on my machine, even though Viking isn't listed as a compatible brand. In fact, I have several generic feet made by that company. I haven't been disappointed yet.
I particularly like the fact that it indicates when you are 1/4" from the end of the material -
You'd think that were the case but I find that the feet with guide are not a true 1/4" - my experience is with Brother and with Baby Lock. So make sure you measure your seam after using the guide as it may be a bit bigger than 1/4". For many straight-line blocks that doesn't matter but anything with triangles may be off, at least in my experience.

This is the one I have. I have not had any problems with it, other than forgetting I am using it and I break a needle when I switch to a decorative or zig zag stitch! Baby Lock: 1/4" Quilting or Patchwork Foot
I also have the stitch in the ditch foot and like that just as well.
I also don't like the foot with the guide. Sometimes the fabric edges are not completely straight and the metal guide then messes up the seam. I prefer to use a straight stitch foot and one of those little plastic (purple) guides that stick onto the machine bed.
