Good Morning, Ladies!

I've missed peeking in but here I am. Company left in the wee hours and now I don't have to worry about

1. forgetting to not put a robe over my nightie
2. making someone breakfast each morning and then having to clean it up
3. having company again for a little while.

I really do love having guests. My favorite is my cousin Ruth. Ruthie and I grew up together and have all the most important things in common.
1. We love the Lord
2. We love our hubbies
3. We love to quilt

Pretty much in that order.

Well, Trish we are still picking blackberries. And last night, Evie (one of the guests) and I picked some to carry back home as well as our first pickings off the blueberries. We also picked some squash and bell peppers for them. She was quite afraid of getting her perfect tennis shoes dirty in the veggie patch. We have of course, red clay here in NC. Even with composting each and every year it is still clay. She would never make it here. LOL. Cathy, you would have made her really squimish with your livestock!

The Casey Anthony trial is over and I am really shaking my head going, WHAT??? I do not understand how a jury can say they didn't have enough evidence. I think most folks can connect the dots that the child was MURDERED. What I don't get is how the jury can say, oh yeah, guilty of lying to the police. Then tell me this jury: WHY did she lie?

Oh well, glad that I have a boring life with a bunch of family and friends who come to visit whenever they can and bring me back to the reality of life. Even though my company arrived earlier and stayed longer, I will miss them. I will however, not miss their pee pee pot dog, who has a bladder the size of a mustard seed. Thank goodness I have hard wood floors. I haven't checked yet, but, hope she didn't pee in the bed. Oy. Ollie is an adorable pug who became fast friends with Gracie. Oh how Gracie adored Ollie. The would romp and romp and just lay down and look at each other, tongues hanging out!

Gots to run, dear sisters. The thought of having a mattress pee stained by a pug has gotten the best of my brain. Off to check that out and get ready for a workday.

Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good morning Blondie and today is THURSDAY!!!. I am glad you survived the weekend with all your guests. It is always nice to have them but nice to see them go as well. Hopy peepee dog did not do any damage to the mattresses.

I took a little trip on Tuesday to visit my granddaughter. She had an appointment with the pediatric specialist. She does have a mild case of asthma and excema to boot. He upped her medication and said we would find a big difference in her breathing. She squealed when he went to look in her ears. She did not like that at all.

I had taken my vaccuum cleaner with me because it is a pet care system. I could not believe all the crap that came out of the carpets. After doing just Maizyn's room I had to clean out the vaccuum. WOW!! Might make her breathing a little better.

The people who lived there before had two dogs and two cats so the carpets were never really cleaned. I guess I will have to bring it with me each time I visit.

I get to see my granddaughter again tomorrow when they come for a visit. So I guess not much quilting again this weekend. That's okay the trade-off is I get to spend time with Maizyn.

So if I don't see you this weekend, have a wonderful one everyone.

You ladies really brighten my day!! Completely understand about dogs and cats and their messes - we lost our dear Yorkie in January and I've been really mourning - well, my dear hubby insisted that I go to the Dumb Friends League and we found this adorable mix (terrier and beagle - cute but funny looking) just trembling. We got her but she was not housebroken and I've been staunchly working on that! Think the dear Lord knew that I couldn't handle this and so sent our neighbor dog over while owner went on vacation and this dog taught my dog to go outside (Yeah!!). Now, I'll shampoo carpets and we're set! Been working on Quilts for Kids and loving it - will try to figure out camera and post pictures. One question - since the quilts are bright colors (red and blue), when I FMQ, what color thread do I use? Have a good day everybody!

Just a quickie - gotta head out of here real quick for a day filled with grandkids. EsGrandma - use white!!! I always use white. Monique - you crack me up about the dog hair - I get that once a day just in our bedroom from our dog . . . and I remember one time we were renting and I was at a function with a lot of neighborhood people and I complained about all the human hair that was on the carpet at the house we were renting. I made some comment about the people being so dirty . . . later found out I was talking to the former renter's mother!!!! Red Face!!

Blondie - THURSDAY comes after HUMP DAY! You really had a great visit and it must have been much shorter than you think!! HUGS!

Good Morning!
I love company, but I also like to see them leave. Some are welcome to stay far longer than others though. You know the ones, they fit in and don't make more work for you! My BIL would do the dishes after dinner AND he helped with chores. Everybody was sad to see Uncle Juice (Bruce) leave. (Em couldn't say Corky or Bruce, so she has Uncles Cookie & Juice, how cute is THAT?)

After all of these years of animals we are finally without house pets. We have the barn/guard cat and the livestock guardian dog so we still have the cat/dog experience, but NO pet hair or messes in the house. Since it looks like Em is successfully day-time potty trained and working on the night side, I should be done with pee-puddles on the floor until it's the grandson's turn. I think of how nice it would be to have a house dog again, and then remember how nice it is to not have pet hair on everything. Maybe when Em is older, maybe. E'sGrandma, the odd-looking ones are always the most adorable!
Monique, that carpet cleaning will probably help wonders for your GD. If they have heat registers that you can pull the covers off of, yank them off and clean in there too. Then it won't be blowing back in when they use the heat/AC. Have them change the air filters too.
Off to milk and then hit the speech therapist, the lumber yard for window trim, Home Depot for more trim paint and back to home for the final wall of the house!
Have a great day doin' what your doin'!

well ladies your days sound better than mine! Remember i was waiting for the gas man Wed.?? instead of replacing my meter they found a leak and shut off my gas. now I'm listening to a backhoe break up my drive to access the line. fortunatly they don't have to do the whole drive, the should be able to run a new line inside the old. then they'll send someone out to turn everything back on. Yea!! hot water again and a shower!!!! Of course DH is out of town for all the excitment. while waiting for them this morning I put the binding on my little half hex quilt. Turned out real cute! I hand quilted it. i'll post a picture later. Enjoy your day.

Hi Ladies, does anyone know if our blocks from the swap are ready to be swapped yet? I haven't seen anything yet.

Hi Ladies, does anyone know if our blocks from the swap are ready to be swapped yet? I haven't seen anything yet.

You have probably seen Suzi's post by now. She's waiting for four more sets to arrive . . . that is, if you are talking about the Wild Thing swap. Suzi recently had cataract surgery and is having quite a bit of unnecessary trouble as a result. I've been sending special prayers just for her!!

Headed to the sewing room. Cut out almost half of the blocks for Emily's quilt yesterday morning. Maybe I can get the rest done today. It's going really quickly . . . excited!!

Confucious said that company and fish both stink after three days! I'm not so sure about that, but I love to have houseguests come and I'm almost always more than ready for them to leave. I love the "no stress" guests that feel comfortable enough in our home to take care of their hunger, thirst and entertainment. We also live in the country and there is nothing other than visiting, sitting on the porch and watching nature for entertainment. Most of our guests wonder how we can stand it without fast food, malls, etc. We just smile and tell them that some day they'll understand. The funny thing is that they always want to come back..."for a longer visit next time, okay?". Country hugs...Barb

If you could see my red face now over the Wednesday greeting. Good Grief! I don't even go into the shop on Wednesdays. That should have been my first clue! And yes, Confuscious had it correct. 5 days is far too long, even for cousins. They did spend some time visiting with Mom, visiting with my brother and of course, my sis came over here to visit with them. They love my sweet tea and adore my big man.

On the bright side, no pee stained mattress. Just one squiggle of a dried turd under the bed. I can deal with that.

When I finished work, I decided to visit the LQS in and found some neat remnants for a good deal.

Off to finish a few candle mats and table runner. Will take pics when I have finished them. Cousin's wife Evie just thinks I am so clever but she would never be able to find time to just sit. I told her follow me around for a day and see when I do actually do get to sit. LOL. She thought that was cute. I think we are safe from another visit from them until next year. One of my Frank's other brothers (he has 3) will most likely be next. I can handle Paul. Please, Lord, let it be Paul. He is my favorite from that batch.

Hi Ladies! I haven't checked in for awhile. We went to Europe for 3 weeks, got home and 5 days later my sister and her kids came from Missouri to visit for 2 weeks. They went home, then a week later my mom flew in from Missouri also for 10 days. She will leave Saturday. I too love company Blondie but am thinking the way they came to visit this time was not such a good idea. I am exhausted and the worst part? I haven't quilted since the end of April!!! ;)
