View Full Version : Wednesday Hellos!

Hello Folksies!

It's already the middle of the week and my, my, my . . . how busy we have all been. Luscious and I did not do much in the basement yesterday. Well, let me re phrase that. He did a bit but I did nada. I was too busy with other things like FINALLY running to the supermarket, hanging out laundry, and washing a stinking little chi chi who decided to roll in her own dung.

Why do dogs do that? Gross me out. Thankfully she is small. But crap stinks no matter on who or what and it ain't gonna be in my house. Shoo! I should have known she was up to something because she was so happy to have me let her back in the house. Normally, she plays coy and wants me to chase after her and beg. Forget about it Gracie. It's too blinking hot (93) to do more than stand inside the door. Whoosh! Into my arms with her nasty self. I think she has forgiven me this morning. She's already shared my coffee with me.

Since I have to work at the salon the rest of the week, I need to really work in the basement today. Luscious starts his summer job next week. So our time together working is very limited. I promise you this (just as I promised the big man) I don't do that room down there by myself. No sir, no way, comprende? Too scarey even for me. As in who knows what lurks in that darkness when the lights have been out down there since last Christmas. I don't have visions of sugar plums, more like 8 legged freaks. There. I've said it and now I don't want to go down there. Why do I have such a big mouth! No one else listens to me, why do I?

Have a wonderful day. After reading a few posts here, I understand somewhat the problems, situations of your lives.
Sherry, I've had to move many times, was even homeless living in my car once, pregnant with two toddlers - even if this doesn't go the way you want it to, it IS going to be resolved. Hugs for the frustration, angst and fears.
Hawaiian Roxy, no bail. After a certain age all kids are no longer kids but adult children. You did your part. He needs to do his. Perhaps this is his wake up call. No apologies. It's not your mess, it's his. Don't accept blame for another's actions, even when it is your adult child's.

To all whose birthdays I have missed giving a happy happy to, forgive me. If you are a newbie and reading this, don't be surprised if I haven't welcomed you. Days are flying by so quickly that I am lucky to get in here for a few minutes in the morning.

Since the clock is ticking away madly as I type this, I am off! Finding my strength and courage in a fresh cuppa, I will follow my man down the stairs to the first portal of hell. I kid you not.

SMILE! Blessings! Peace! Hugs! and more SMILES!

Morning Everyone,

Blondie, we had a dungeon in the old house we just sold. I'm so glad I no longer have to go down there. The only thing is was good for was for taking refuge during really bad storms.

I have to go to WalMart today for some food and things. I will also be painting in the laundry room. We were both too tired to paint after Jeff got home from work yesterday. I think small spaces are the hardest to paint. It will be clean and nice when it's all done.

I finished the mini tumbler yesterday so now I can go back to the quilt for our DD for her birthday. After that a have a few more UFOs to tackle.

Wishing everyone a blessed day....

Good morning!

Oh... I hate 8 legged friends....yikes! My garage sounds as if it's in the same state as your basement....it's got to be put on a cleanup list. DH cleaned out my spice cabinet and above the stove...something sorely needed...now if I can get home to put it all back together..lol

Thankful today is Wednesday...as I am off on Thursday. Yayaayayayaya! Looking forward to it! DH was wanting to go somewhere, but yesterday he and dd went to his mothers and dd said when they got there dad was wiped out...so much so dd text me and was worried about getting him home...so I think we will stay around the ranch.

Everyone, have a great day!

Spent last night in the ER after Tabatha fell in the back yard and something in her ankle "popped". They said it is not broken but she has to see a specialist to figure out what did happen. Since she is on crutches all she can do with the baby is sit and feed him because she can't carry him . I feel bad for her that she hurt her foot and I feel bad for me because I have so much to do now.

I think my mom is coming up tomorrow to stay with us and help with the baby and the housework. We are supposed to be having a picnic for some of Tab's work colleagues this weekend and I can not do all the preparations for that by myself.

Hope everyone has a nice day. Keep a positive thought for Ole' Hop-Along and her husband and son.

June 18th, 2014, 09:09 AM
Good morning! Ryan, maybe Tabatha's "pop" is a sprain. That's what happened to me a few years ago, twisted my ankle...POP!...bad sprain. Hang in there!

It's Sit & Sew day for the guild. I hope we can start sewing the blocks of our raffle quilt together today. I'm going for a walk before it starts getting hotter here. Have a good day

June 18th, 2014, 09:15 AM
Morning all... today I'm going to try to put a narrow border on a baby quilt top that I put together with no recipient in mind until this morning when I was praying - now I know it needs to go to my niece whom I haven't seen in years (and is pregnant :))... funny and awesome how God brings clarity, even when your not necessarily asking for it!
I must try to get to the DMV or RMV... or whatever it happens to be called at the moment - my license expired on Sunday - oops!
It's been a fairly quiet work week; something I find that I enjoy more and more (the quiet, that is) - we'll see what today holds.
Hope everyone has a fabulous day today. Ryan, please tell Tabatha we all hope she is feeling better, and up and around soon (well, for your sake too... :icon_heh:)...

Good Morning All,

I am taking a day to myself and not leaving the house. No errands, exercise class, volunteering, etc. Just me, sewing and doing laundry. My son informed me he has his first day off in weeks tomorrow and he wants help cleaning and organizing his room. We are in the process of moving his college "stuff" home so we need to make room. I better rest up, it's going to be a big day!

Blondie, good luck with your basement. It will be such a good feeling when you get that project complete.

Roxy, my heart goes out to you. Tough love is the hardest, I'm proud of you for holding out. You ARE NOT a bad mother, your son has chosen his actions.

Sherri, I'm still praying for your house to sell. Hang in there dear.

Ryan, I feel so bad for Tabatha, and you. Tell Tabatha it's a good thing she has a nice pedicure, and I love the little Sawyer toes peeking in the picture. A visit from your mom will be most welcome and needed.

Blessings to all!

Good morning all! It will be a hot one today. I have been working on piecing the top to PICU group quilt #3. Not sure it will get sandwiched or pieced today as its getting hot. Did the piecing while I was cooking for the next few days dinners. Got 3 loads of laundry on the line. Need to shower and color my hair...may wait on the color not sure. Need to run for milk.

Blondie I hear you on those 8 legged critters. even the smallest make me scream and call for back up. One was in the corner of my sewing room. I just froze, picked up the phone called hubby who was watching a movie in our bedroom and said come kill this giant thing. He does reluctently. the other was a huge one came in when I brought the hummingbird feeder in to fill. when I opened the feeder it crawled , scurried leaped ran up the sink. yes blood curdling screams and my son knew and was there. He killed it with a pop it had a big fat nasty body and when he checked the paper towel all that was left were legs....eeewwwww.
Hugs to those that need them to make it through the day. I am off today, maybe good IDK we don't have AC here. the store does though so I may wish I were there today.79647

Busy times for everyone. Feeling the pain of Tabatha and her ankle. What a bummer. Sounds as if everyone is hefting and lifting and rearranging and working too hard. I think a day of rest should also come in the middle of the week.

Finally, yesterday, our clean-up crew got caught up enough to get in and start making a dent in all the trees that came down in our windstorm. Lots of chips flying - and guys suspended from trees as they trim things that were just left hanging. What a mess. I'll be glad when it's tidied up though.

Hopefully I can get to the sewing room today. I have two of my next three blocks on my green quilt started. I think I have a dozen more to post picture of and six more to do before I can figure out how I'm going to do the sashing. Sis is supposed to come up sometime next week and quilt a table runner she's made. She sent a picture and it is like bombs bursting in air - a special for her 4th of July table.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Good morning.....

It's been awhile since I've been here in the morning. It has been crazy busy at work lately.

I found the "mistakes" quote and am thinking about making a copy and hanging it in my sewing room :)

Blondie, I don't blame you for not wanting to go to the creepy basement. Our basement, if you can call it that, is creepy too and I avoid it like the plague. Who knows what might come crawling out from somewhere.

Ryan, I hope Tabitha's ankle heals quickly. I saw Sawyer's feet in the picture...how cute :)

I was looking through my "Let's Share" post from yesterday. There are some beautiful projects going on...can't wait to see the finished quilts.

Well time to get back to it....have a wonderful day! Prayers and hugs

June 18th, 2014, 10:10 AM
Ouch, Poor Tabitha hope her ankle heals quickly. I'd love to walk around our back yard but it is too bumpy and I know I'd end up like her so I just sit on the deck and admire how green and thick the grass is. Big daylilies are in bloom and I'm enjoying them as well as the little Stella D'oro ones. Even the weeds look good with little purple flowers.

Blondie, I wouldn't go down to your basement for love or money. An older cousin used to tell us horror stories about what was hidden and buried in his basement that scared me of them for life. Years later I was in their backyard and the cellar doors were open and I caught a glimpse of a bright and empty basement and realized he made the stories up but it didn't eliminate my fear of dark basements with creepy crawly things in them.

Time is awasting so I'm off to get something done around here.

June 18th, 2014, 10:42 AM
Tabitha,I truly feel for you. Been there with ankles and kids. Take it easy. It certainly helps to have someone (hint Ryan) help. Oh yeah, the baby toes are so adorable.
Hugs for everyone. You gals have too much energy for me.

June 18th, 2014, 10:50 AM
Good Morning! Happy middle of the week! Looks like another gray day here. Possibly some rain. Indoor activities it is then! :-)

Lots going on here for you all today....Blondie, please be careful in the basement! Let the big guy go ahead of you down the stairs and keep a quick exit in sight at all times! Barb, don't work too hard. Painting is about as much fun to me as a root canal, and I agree....small spaces are the worst! Ryan, I will be keeping Tabatha in thought and prayer (and YOU as well!) Hang in there.

My DGD got her cast on finally! She's doing better. I think she's getting sick of laying around because now sleep is coming with more difficulty. I took her for an outing yesterday just for some activity. No weight on that foot is no fun! After 4 weeks it'll be a walking boot, I am hoping that makes a huge difference for her. 79673
The cast is her favorite color and she just happens to have a shoe or two for the other foot to match!

Off to get my shower and then to Yoga! My sanity time! Also.....my 5 UFO's are done being quilted and I am hopefully going to be picking them up today! Pics to follow if all goes well.

Hugs and prayers to all who want/need! Have a wonderful day!

June 18th, 2014, 11:04 AM
Ouch, Tabatha! My son-in-law was playing soccer with Laylabug about 3 weeks ago, and felt something pop in his knee when he landed wrong....he crushed two bones! And so he is in a huge knee brace, crutches and trying to deal with a 2.5 year old who KNOWS daddy can't stop her from running roughshod through the house. Timmy is going up there today to try to corral her for a few hours. Apparently she destroyed the house yesterday, complete with emptying an entire container of baby powder into her room.....
I can attest to her stubborn streak of late....so, it MAY be easier with one who isn't mobile yet!

Off to DC for the day with a bunch of friends for a book signing...nothing like DC in this miserable heat!!

I understand that (((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))) ))))))))))))))))))))))))) all around are called for....

June 18th, 2014, 11:04 AM
Ah... Wednesday,.... I am good, I have big time tingles at my incidtion site. so I will say the prayers are working.

Hi folks! Speaking of cleaning out spaces. I've reordered my junk in the garage. Then 2 days later, a powerful smell overtook the garage. So I went through EVERY box, carton, drawer looking for a source. Found nothing! Now I think it's a dead or (ewww!) live something in my attic! This is beyond my capability for taking care of! Need the pest or critter control peeps help! Until then, hold my nose!

I think I asked special prayers in January for the husband of a dear friend who was in very critical condition. Well, he rallied and lived another 6 months, and lost his battle with esophageal cancer last Friday. ...I'm about to attend his funeral today, on his wife's 75 th birthday. At least she'll have all her friends with her on her birthday.

Have a good day! Keep cool!

June 18th, 2014, 11:20 AM
I weeded in the flower beds yest., so I have sore muscles today. I discovered those "wabbits" have been busy again, digging under my shed! Grrr! I'm scheduled for a much needed massage this afternoon. I'll do a little housecleaning this a.m. Our pastor is coming tomorrow to give DH Communion. He hasn't felt up to getting out to church for the past few yrs. Actually, he goes no where anymore except to an occas. dr. appt. If there's time, I'll piece the FQ strips for the border to my latest baby qult. It's sunny & supposed to be ~10 deg. cooler than yest. It was 96 yest.!

Ryan, sorry to hear about Tabatha's injury. Is there anyone else who can step up to host the picnic? It would sure relieve the stress level.

Enjoy your "hump day," for those who are working. JCY

June 18th, 2014, 01:49 PM
Ryan--I like the juxtaposition of Tabatha's foot and Sawyer's tiny toes!! Hope she heals quickly.

June 18th, 2014, 02:16 PM
Trying to clear up the mess that is my desk! However, you see I'm here instead. LOL. Blondie your little Chi Chi is a character, glad she is little. I hope the heat abates a little, I feel like a recluse sometimes, I just can't abide going out in it, and when it becomes comfortable enough the darn mosquitoes are waiting for dinner! Oh well, if that's my only complaint, Aren't I BLESSED! To all or to the few or anyone who reads this, please keep my DD in your prayers. She is going through a rough patch and is a strong girl, but it's difficult when you are alone. (she lives about 600 miles from me) . The phone does just so much when you can use a hug. Thanks All!

Good Afternoon!!! It has been a busy week around here. Yesterday we went and look at a house for the second time. This time with a contractor to see about opening up some doorways. Still a lot to think and decide about. I am ready to decide what we are doing as my quilting stuff except for the machine and sewing box has been packed away. So is most of the house as we had planned on putting the house right on the market but have not found anything to buy yet. I've been running the boys to and from the pool and dh to work.

This afternoon, we are headed to the library. Then dollar supper at church (meatloaf, mac and cheese, green beans and rice krispy treats {all homemade}). Then either helping with a class or helping prepare snack in the kitchen.

Ryan, I hope that Tabatha gets better soon. I have went through several sever sprains. No fun at all. One of the best pieces of advice I can give is to get physical therapy after it heals as it makes a huge difference. I'll be praying for her and you.

Sandy, glad you are getting those trees taken care of.

Enjoy the rest of your day everyone :)

June 18th, 2014, 03:44 PM
Don't post as often as I read but seeing a lot of sprains, casts and pain :icon_hug: so big hugs around!

Sandy you should get a picture of those guys hanging off your trees LOL So glad that's being cleaned up

No way Blondie, we had a basement in only 2 quarters and they are so scary. Couldn't refuse my mom asking me to run down and get preserves from the cellar but ewwwwwww still feeling chills just hearing about it

Got to get off the computer, spent more than my hour today and the last quilt I finished just about did me in again - but I have 2 more in mind the same size for our bed, so I don't give up this easy

Have a great Wednesday all and try to stay well!!

I know, It is late afternoon. Trying to catch up on things before tomorrow. We are going camping , won't be back until Sunday. We are gonna meet up with some of our friends from Buffalo, NY. Haven't seen them in a few years. We do talk on the phone, but some how it just isn't the same. I went to Quilt Guild last night. Won a gift certificate for some fabric from a nice little Quilt Shop in Bradford, PA. Our fellow Quilt Members brought in some amazing Quilts for show and tell. It is always fun to go. I get to see my Mom and have show and tell with her and catch up on the latest news. Learned some more things about our family history. Just amazing!!! DH had a stress test done this morning. Dr. says his heart is fine. It is his COPD. He needs to quit his darn smoking. Planning on taking a few Quilt magazines with to read and maybe a little project to work on while camping. It will be nice to sit around the camp fire making hot dogs and roasting marshmallows..
Hope everyone has a great week. I will catch up with you all on Sunday.

June 19th, 2014, 12:14 AM
Annette, prayers for your husband to quit smoking...it's really hard to do and a little prayer couldn't hurt!

June 19th, 2014, 03:24 AM
It sounds like it could be a torn tendon. my daughter did this once the specialist gave her a boot for support to wear and crutches. she didn't injure it bad enough for surgery. (Good Luck)
