View Full Version : Lodging around Hamilton???

I'm not sure where to put this post but we are planning a trip (DH and I) in late September to MSQC and I'm wondering where everyone stays. I prefer a nice quiet B@B but I don't want to drive far for it if a quiet clean hotel is closer to Hamilton. I'm coming down 35 from MN and we'll be stopping at other quilt shops on the way - saving most of our energy for Hamilton. I'm thinking we'll arrive around noon on Friday and leave either the next afternoon or Sunday morning. Any great choices???

There are hotels in Cameron. I think there might be a B&B in Jamesport, not 100% sure. You could send BillNye a PM and ask him.

Here is a link to the hotels located in Cameron, about 15 miles West of Hamilton. TripAdvisor doesn't list any Bed & Breakfast's. I checked VRBO and the only listing was for a house that sleeps 15.

Chillicothe is about 25 miles East of Cameron and is a little larger city with more to do. Here is a link to TripAdvisor for Chillicothe:Chillicothe Hotels: Compare 4 Hotels in Chillicothe with 210 Reviews | TripAdvisor (http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotels-g44236-Chillicothe_Missouri-Hotels.html)

I didn't stay in either town but hubby and I were recently in the area. If your husband is looking for things to do Chillicothe is probably the better choice.

But, if you are coming down 35 you will be coming right through Cameron.

Are ;you going to time your trip for the forum retreat so you can meet up with several forum members, too? If your husband is a golfer there's a special rate for a golf course in Hamilton, too! Check out the Groups here on the forum and join the 2014 Fall Forum Get Together.

Thank you all so much! I'm not coming for the get together unfortunately. DH wouldn't last that long and I don't want to drive it alone. But DH is geared up to GOLF at least one of the days - maybe hit balls the other day. Mom 23 - thanks for the research - I was on for an hour last night and didn't get the info you found! This is all good info. Maybe someone needs to put out a "Tourist Guide to Hamilton". But I guess it keeps changing and growing doesn't it!
