Happy Wednesday Folksies

I had a fabulous day yesterday - I did almost absolutely nothing.

Hoping that today will be a duplicate.

Hi Blondie! Got my quilt mojo going yesterday and finished 3 quilt tops for Marilyn's PICU, need to quilt them today to get them ready for her later this week! Pics to follow when they are finished.

Have a good day!

Good morning! It's lawn mowing day here to beat the rain coming in tonight and tomorrow. I'm up checking Weather.com for DH. It's hay cutting time so we watch the 10 day weather forecasts closely. Time for some coffee to help get me going.

Good Morning all!

Jean you are an inspiration - three in one day. Someday I will do that. Instead now it's like I do more of the absolutely nothing, even though I'm always busy it seems.

This morning is back to the doctor for Kelly's acupuncture treatment. She is trying to get up and walk - and is successful, but the Dr doesn't want her to do that just yet. Try explaining that to her! While I'm waiting for her, I will hit one or two more quilt shops in that area. They aren't real far (about 50 miles), but too far to go to on a regular basis. After that I am Free until her next appt on Friday. Hoping that DS will be able to finish my floors by Thursday night, but probably not. They are still waiting to get approval from the HOA in the condo they have rented to move in. HOA's can be a real pain, but this community is pristine even though it's over 30 years old.

Hope everyone has a Blessed day - saying prayers for those in need.

Morning. Yesterday was very disappointing; I busted my butt cleaning the house for two showings...a whole 18 minutes of viewing between the two prospects. I missed going to work for what? Very discouraged regarding the sell of this house and still no where to go in Arkansas.
Bad reviews on both and I'm ready to throw up my hands and say to heck with it.

I did finish one of two baby quilts yesterday (it needs to be washed/pressed) before I wrap it.

Morning all,
Looks like another nice day in my part of the world. Getting ready for my coffee and wondering what the day has in store for me.

I was away for 3 days last week in Lake George for a quilt retreat with my sister. It' always good to get away but doubly enjoyable when it 's a sisters get away, I really needed that. I was able to complete a plum sweet quilt top that I will send out to be quilted as soon as I get my order for the rest of the backing fabric. It's turning out to be one of my favorite quilts!

Have to get up to the sewing room today and finish putting my things away, and maybe I'll be able to get a little sewing time in, keeping fingers crossed! I have to watch some training videos today and take 2 certification tests so I don't know if that will be possible but we'll see.

Off to start my day, hugs to all those who would like a few extra today.

Morning Everyone,

Sherri, I know exactly what you are going through. We have been trying to sell our old house for 6 years. Don't give up hope. I know the showings are a lot of stress and work. I'm praying that someone will walk into your house and it will feel like home and that they will see their family living there. I really think that's what it takes. Finding motivated buyers is a hard thing.

I have to go to WalMart this morning for prescriptions and a few food items. I think the Girls slept all night. I fell asleep right after dinner (too many early mornings with the Girls lately) and missed the grand finale of The Voice. I'm thrilled to see that Josh Kaufman is the winner. The female singer is awesome also, but she already has a recording contract.

Myrna, today is our mowing day, too. I will start the festivities as soon as I get home from WalMart.

Wishing everyone a great day with special Hugs for Sherri.

Morning all.

The greenhouse plumbing was largely a success yesterday. (See also: http://forum.missouriquiltco.com/general-chit-chat/39020-does-remind-anyone-ryan.html) A guy from our facilities department came down and helped and he snapped another one of the fittings and got sprayed but I was across the room so I just laughed. (He dried and all was well again). We've got 10 more irrigation lines to do today and some parts I ordered to complete the job arrived yesterday so we should have this wrapped up by lunch time. Maybe no one will get sprayed today.

Sawyer slept all night again although he basically stayed in place this time. He's a good boy. I like him and I think we'll keep him.

I can only imagine the frustration you are experiencing. When junk happens here, which is almost a weekly if not daily occurrence, I remind myself that it will all be good in the end. My Granny always said, it will all come out in the wash.
Hugs to you! And some extra prayers.
Blessings

Morning everyone!
Sherri, it'll happen when the time is right. The right buyer will come along and you will find the perfect home for you and your family.
Ryan, good luck today!
Well, today is going to be a very nice day here again. I still have some work to do outside...does it ever really end.....but I need to do some things for Julia's 1st birthday party. We are working on centerpieces and a photo banner. I also really need to get going on her little rag doll or it won't get finished! I need to hibernate in my sewing room for one full day to get everything done.
Well, still working on de cluttering the house. It's going really well and it feels so good to be rid of things that I'll never use again. I love the fact that I have one empty cabinet in my dining room! I also have extra space in my kitchen cabinets which means I can open up a cabinet without everything falling out. I still have a few rooms left, but I saved the worst for last so those should be fun.
Anyway, I hope everyone has a great day! Prayers and hugs to all who need or want them.

I'm early today for a change as I've been sleeping more during the night, still wake up once or twice but I fall back to sleep easily.

Lots to do today besides regular household stuff, need to shop for great-grandson George's Bday and visit my BFF who has been away for a few weeks. George will be one end of this week and he will be sharing his Bday party on Sunday with his Mom as he was born on her Bday.

Good morning... Sherri, as much as I LOVE HGTV, I think that watching that has spoiled so many people as to what they should expect from a house!! Eventually the proper person will show up, see past whatever 'issues' were reviewed and... viola! Are you selling by owner? Because you can't keep stopping your life, work etc to show ...let the Realtor do it...

Sunny here, headachy start to the day, hope it leaves as work is stupid right now... blech....

And REALLY need to clean...

((((((((((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))) to any and all takers!!!

Good morning. Just got up and that rarely happens to me, although I did take a pill last night. It is not a sleeping pill but a pill that lets me get back to sleep if I awaken.

I quilted at Victoria's Quilts in the morning and picked up my tickets to sell. We have a raffle of two quilts each year in September. Do you remember, we won one last year. Maybe we can win another one this year. The quilt is really nice. I stopped in to see my mother-in-law. Poor woman, she is dressed for winter and sitting in front of her heater. I told her to sit outside in the sunshine and that would warm her up. I transplanted some Lily of the Valley to plant here. My mother loved those and lilacs. I did another load of laundry and then decided to clean my bedroom. Getting rid of some unwanted clothes and stuff. Today I may tackle another room. Tired of all the clutter.

Have a great day everyone.

Trish...we are going through a realty agent (someone I went to school with), that of course, drives up the price to cover all the commissions, closing costs and the loan. I wish I was trying to sell it myself. And I have to remove our dog, she would be ballistic if someone strange came in and we weren't home....

Decluttering - on my agenda, but I keep pushing it back a couple days here and there. Today is out, tomorrow is out, Friday is out. But maybe by Saturday morning I can start again in earnest . . . my house needs cleaned so badly right now.

Feeling for Sherri - with the economy the way it is homes aren't selling as quickly as we'd like. But, they do say that sales pick up in the summer after school closes. Keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you.

Started (FINALLY) on my bus tour green quilt yesterday!!! The pattern I'm using is one I printed off the internet about three or four years ago. It is called Black and White Delight (obviously not my choice of colors) and was on a site called Florida Cabin Fever. Unfortunately, I can't locate the exact pattern on their new website . . . something tells me that there has been a kerhuffal there and some things have gone by the wayside. The pattern uses a black and a white print and a bright. Using 3 complimenting FQs though, I'm able to get three blocks of each month's pattern. And they are amazing. Love my fabric choices. Photos to follow as I get more blocks done. Just now working on the 3 blocks for March. January and February are done.

Off to HD to pick up a paint sample this morning. They sell samples of some of the paints for $1.94 and all I need is enough for a touch-up . . . and then we'll see what unfolds of the rest of the day. I did get up singing "There's a bright golden haze on the meadow . . . "

Good Morning Friends,
Sorry I haven't been around to comment much more than a peep here and there these past couple of weeks...
I have spent the better part of the last two weeks out in my yard weeding, or inside my house Spring Cleaning. I am hoping to be totally finished with both by Saturday, I will clean my carpets then, as we are going out of town to go fishing over the Memorial Day weekend. I also had some car repairs done. It just seems to be that time of year to put your house and life in order, doesn't it.

Next week is High School Graduation in our school district. My youngest son, a junior, will be graduating this year, a whole year early. He has worked so hard for this, and I am so frustrated at how our High School (where I am employed as a school cook), handles the early grads. They want to exclude them from so many of the 'Senior Only' end of year activities, because they weren't part of that class. . . I have fought for so long, to have him allowed to do all the fun end of year 'Senior' activities, because it's not like he will be coming back next year to do these things with 'his class'. Uhg! just 10 more days, just 10 more days, , ,

But, ya know what? The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and my sweet boy will get to do all the things that are most important to him, I love the sweet gals that I work with, and life is good. Have a lovely day one and all! (especially you, Sherri! :icon_hug: ).
Love, Miss Sheri

I need prayers today. I have what I refer to as an old-fashioned cold. My back and tummy hurt from coughing and I keep getting a muscle spasm in my back when I try to stand. Enough of the whining!

Two friends are coming over today. One used her long arm machine to quilt my batik quilt and is delivering it. Bless her for that! The other is working on a Bonnie Hunter quilt and needs help laying it out.

Prayers for all who are in need.

Aww, sorry you are under the weather there Mary......hope you feel better soon.

I don't know what the world has planned for me, but I woke up and that means a blessed day! (Black humor may not tickle everyone's funny bone, but it sure makes me giggle.) My fabric for the mystery quilt arrived yesterday and I managed to get a wee bit of it cut before hubby ordered me to bed. (Don't you just love a masterful man .... :icon_rolleyes:)
I should be spring cleaning but I can't.....there is fabric waiting for me to cut and it has been left all alone down in that dark basement all night. Surely my ears hear it's whimpering cries for attention.
But I promise to be good and force my kids to help me with Spring Cleaning 2014 on the weekend. That way we can all "enjoy" the annual festivities. :icon_rofl: Thus far I have managed to avoid the dusting by telling my inquiring hubby that it was a protective coating against the food spills from the kids. Not sure if he bought that line or not, but he did smile and subject has been temporarily dropped.
So I shall just nip into the kitchen, start the slow cooker for the dinner tonight and then clomp my way down to my sobbing (hopefully not soggy) fabric.
Cheers all! Oh and if someone tries to ruin your day, just refuse delivery and tell them you do not accept C.O.D. 's (Complaints/criticism On Delivery) on Wednesdays. :icon_razz:

I woke up in a perfectly fine mood today, then I came to work. That was my downfall. Started the day off loosing my temper and blasting a gal I work with who irritates most of us daily. I normally don't let her get to me, but she pushed me a tad bit too far today and I think I may have frightened everyone I work with. I am usually not like that, and it wasn't good I was today. I will now have to hang my head in shame and apologize....maybe. Really, I know I should not have acted the way I did, but neither should have she, but it's normal for her so I'm sure she does not even realize it. Maybe she will now!

That said, I have a quilting class tonight that starts at 1800 and last three hours for Marti Michell's Pineapple quilt. MM picked the colors and it will be blue/green/white, just like the picture on the pattern. Wonder where he came up with his colors..that man cracks me up. This causes quite the dilemna for me as I am a true fan of Survivor and the finale for this season is tonight, starting at 2000 and lasting for three hours! If I speed home from class and leave everything in the car, I should be home by 2110 and might be able to squeeze the entire three hours in by 2300....otherwise, I do feel flulike symptoms coming on :)

Pat, there are times when the obnoxious need to be put in their place - and if everyone just puts up with her behavior she never finds out she's irritating. Good for you!!! After all, you do get to retire before her!!!

I think you look a wee under the weather, though, so if you can record the survivor you can watch it in the morning, right? And then have the rest of the day to work on Mr. Monkey's pineapple quilt . . .

Happy Wednesday One and All!!

I'm seriously losing it.... I've literally been awake since 7 am YESTERDAY MORNING!! For whatever reason I couldn't sleep last night to save my life :( I tried everything... nothing worked. Being up all night has its drawbacks, other than the obvious zombie-like quality I've been in all day. My credit card got hit HARD last night with a bunch of late-night shopping while lying in bed on my iPad. Now I just gotta figure out a way to get the packages in the house before hubby notices :D

Now it's 4:30 here in NE Ohio and my second wind has kicked in. I've got 30 minutes left of work and I'm starting to go a little nuts!! I can't concentrate and I'm literally watching the clock countdown to 5.

Hopefully this burst of energy doesn't last too long once I get home and I can crash early tonight. If not.. there's no hope for my credit card.

Happy Wednesday everyone. Well, three days into my new job and I feel so much more relaxed. I am not always waiting for something to blow up. It has been a busy week in the department but I am enjoying it. Monday night I came home all excited and all but last night I came home and I was exhausted. I think that the 2 days of reading the pages of notes that my predecessor left for me (which is so great!), looking through files on the computer, files in the file drawers, trying to figure out what went where and trying to remember everyone's name plus remembering when it was time for me to cover the Reception desk for lunch or breaks just wiped me out. I fell asleep on the couch watching tv. DH woke me at 10 o'clock to go up to bed and I promptly fell right back to sleep.

Pat, good for you. Sometimes people just need to learn that they can't get away with the stuff they pull. I know you feel like maybe you shouldn't have blown up but since it is so out of character for you, it probably just emphasized the fact that it had gotten to the "enough is enough" point.

Sherri, I know you must be so very frustrated. Hang in there. It will work out somehow for you. In the meantime, come here and vent as often as you need to.

Ahhhh, decluttering. Definitely on my list. We did get one closet done but that's as far as we've gotten this spring. We have a lot of closets yet to tackle. Not to mention the garage.

Tomorrow is Thursday already! Then early close on Friday (and every Friday from here on until Labor Day) and a nice long weekend.
I am smiling Blondie. :D
