And when they are biting good, they are a barrel of fun to fish for!

Very, very good fish...usually not "fishy" tasting. And they are fun, fun, fun to catch!!

We took out the bass-boat yesterday to go fishing...didn't hardly make it off the trailer and realized the steering on the boat was not working. Very disappointing for sure!

So....did you catch anything???

Yep we caught a few crappie. The biggest one was about 1 3/4 lb,2 catfish,2 warmouth bass(I brought these home and put them in the pond, and a skip jack(I will make catfish bait out of this one). My brother fillet the crappie and catfish for me. Can't beat that with a stick. I will post pictures here in a little bit.
Had a great time til it started getting real windy.
I just love spring!!!
Back to work tomorrow after having a week off. BUMMER:(

We have crappie in Canada but I am not sure of the name. I have caught several and the locals told me the name but I had a hard time understanding them. And, well, they had a hard time understanding me when I said it was a crappie. Ah, in Quebec, it is always an adventure with language when dealing with an old lady who grew up in Georgia and folks that only speak Quebec French. Luckily, most folks here can speak English (which is good cause my French has brought on a few cases of the giggles around here)

I haven't had crappie to eat since the early 1960's when my uncle & I went fishing in Coeur d'Alene Lake, ID. We were staying at his cabin. My aunt fried them up. As I recall, they had quite a few bones. JCY
