Today is the last day of school--finally I will have some time to get some things done around here. I love summer vacation!

Oh yeah - I love summer vacations! We don't even go anywhere anymore to 'get away' cause having off for summer from school - well, everyday is a brand new day to wake up and decide what WE want to do. It's like a mini-retirement every June for a few months. I am fortunate and blessed enough to have a job to allow me to do that.

Busy days ahead. Heading to Dad's today to get some work done around the house since I am too tired to do cleaning and such while I am there on Sunday's mowing and gardening. Then think I'll be heading out Friday afternoon to my friends out west for a day or so visit. Just need some BFF time together.

I finally got out my sewing machine yesterday and stitched up a baby quilt top and got the top pieced! Yeah for me since I haven't put in a stitch since March. It is so cute and when I get it quilted next week, I'll put up a photo. With the running for the next several days, I won't get any more stitching in on it until then.

You all have a great day! Oh - the tornado's in Massachusettes - how tragic, once again. Prayers for those dealing with that.

We haven't hit "Summer" yet. Two more weeks of school. It might reach 70 this weekend though.

We finished school on Tuesday! Yeah! and the heat and humidity have reached Missouri! I will call it summer!

Where does the time go? It seems like yesterday I was viewing pictures of tons of snow in Missouri and now it's 90! Orange County is having mild temps, lots of sun, and some windy days.

Oh Rebecca!!!! Please don't remind me of all the snow here this past winter!!! We just hit the 90's. It has been a long, long cold and wet winter and spring! Bring on the heat!!!! I will even take the humidity! (we have ac!!!) I am sure those winter winds will be blowing before we know it and long before I wear out summer time temps!!

I love the sunshine! Humid days are spent indoors with the AC and my sewing. So...I guess humid days are a good thing too!

I'll admit, I sometimes miss the hot summer days in OK. More for the memories of the time I spent with family rather than the heat! It wouldn't be the same now, so I'll just stay here and visit in the fall when the weather seems to be a bit more orderly!

Most hot days here at least have decent breezes!

I bet you are not the only one. Here summervacation starts July 15 and last until September 15.

We had school out over a week ago and having all of the kids home -- they are messy and eat soooooo much!I think some growing is going on. I've been prepping and getting the rest of the garden going now that the weather has finally warmed up. This is a full 2 1/2 weeks later than I get things in the ground. Now it is in the 80's. Too quick of a change as I can hardly get the kids outside to enjoy it because they think it is too hot. Time to have them weed, too....
