Having my gall-bladder out on Thursday and hope to be in hospital for no more than 36-48 hours.

Hopefully it will be keyhole and not too complicated but there is a real chance I may have to have a full incision which would involve a much longer stay in hospital and greater recovery time - and no driving or lifting for 6 weeks!!!! (that quilt I'm waiting to finish may have to wait a bit longer)

I'd value your prayers. I really want the quick and easy version! There was an unwanted 'blip' on my ECG too so hope that won't complicate things too much in the future.

Prayers for you for successful lapriscopy-type surgery. I had mine out about 7 years ago. The some of the after effects were not explained very well, but I guess they are worth it for the no pain thing!

Just know that as you recover, up to years afterward, you don't want to be far from the bathroom 15 to 20 minutes after you eat. It does cut down on eating in the car while you travel.

You will do fine. But, either surgery, you will still need to take it easy for a few weeks. You will have stitches inside that need to heal so no heavy lifting.

I'll be praying for you for sure. I had my gallbladder removed the old way with the large incision and was in the hospital for a long time. My DD had hers out the keyhole way and was home in two days. Wishing you all the best. Let us know how you are doing when you can. Hugs, Barb
