View Full Version : The pain is soooo worth it!

Today was the day I had to spend at Sew Expo. It was the first day of the four day show and I picked up my friend (who had never been) and off we went! We got there a little after 1100 and lasted till about 1730. I ignored my foot and made it thru the entire thing! Picked up a couple patterns, another pair of Kai scissors (left handed!), an ironing board cover and the presser feet to do curved seams.

Kai had an entire booth just for their scissors and rotary cutters. I did not try the cutters since I love my Martelli, but I did try a pair of the 8" left handed scissors and picked up a pair of them. I can't believe they were only $22! They had the 'professional' pair I also tried but they were about $70 and I really could tell no difference between the two.

The woman I got the presser feet from was the woman who designed them and has the YouTube video on them. She gave me a one on one demo and was very interesting to listen to!

Oh, and I had the chance to sit and look at the Brother cutting machine......ooooh la la!!! Maybe some day.

My friend was amazed! It was like taking a child to Disneyland for the first time ever! Some of the last booths we stopped in were the ones with wool appliques. I'm glad they were at the end, or we may have been in them a long time as she loves to do the wool stuff! Looked at some nice machines, talked to a lot of nice people. Oh! Some of my favorites were from Oklahoma! Four older women flew out to Portland, went to Fabric Depot where they declared they spent too much money, then are staying in Tacoma for four days to attend Expo. I told them I was amazed they did this and one said it was on her bucket list! It was then that I learned this Expo is the largest they hold in the United States.

Anyway, it was a good day had by all......saw lots of new and interesting things, and got to spend an excellent day with a friend!

I'm sorry that I missed this year's party. Not in the budget. I'd go just to look, but we all know THAT never happens!

I am glad that you had a good time.
