After 22 hours of only getting to look at him we finally got to cuddle him and have our first full family photo taken.

Good news: He is looking a lot better. They took him out of the boy-in-a-bubble incubator and put him in the regualr clear baby bin.

Bad news: Some of his bloodwork came back a little wonky so he probably won himself a 7 day stay here.

But we still think he is going to be fine and if the NICU is where he needs to be then that is where he should stay until he is healthy and strong enough to come live on the farm with me, his mom, and a bunch of chickens.

Yu'll have to excuse all of us. Little man is the only one who has properly bathed since his birthday.

Precious! He will be just fine, I am sure - and hey, he gets to stay in the warm hospital and not venture out into the cold just yet.

So precious! For what you two have been through over the last day and a half, you are entitled to the rumpled look!

A beautiful family. Ryan, you're just starting the days of looking a little rumpled and sleep deprived, but you'll be just fine. I hope Sawyer's blood work gets better quickly.

Glad they at least sprung him from his bubble so you two can get some skin time with him. Better get used to looking somewhat rumpled for at least a couple years. ;)

It's better to keep him in the NICU right now.....he will come home soon I am sure......He sure is a cute baby......and of course you both look like the most proud parents in the world right now ( and rightfully so ! ) ....Daddy & Mommy look so happy ! Great photo !
So, with Sawyer winning himself a 7 day stay, does that mean you get to stay too ?

When my first GD Emily Jacqueline, was born, they allowed my daughter to stay.....they had a few rooms they offered the new moms....it was so nice. Emily Jacqueline had breathing problems right after she was born and they decided to keep her for 3 days after her birth....She is a healthy 11 yr old now.

Wheeeeeee! He's here, he's here! And I went back to read about your exciting drive in the blizzard and your police escort. Little Sawyer knows how to make a grand entrance, he does indeed.

Seriously, I wish you all the best and many, many years of happiness. If we could just bottle up the glow coming from the three of you, we could end our dependence on foreign oil.

An absolutely beautiful family. Tabatha does not look like she just went through labor and Csection!
Anxious to hear about his progress. He is simply adorable, Ryan.

PS - anyone notice how blue Ryan's eyes are? I love blue eyes!

Mom and Dad both have blue eyes. Dads are light blue and moms are a little darker and look almost green under certain light conditions. Right now little man has darker blue eyes but I believe that baby eye color can change as their eyes fully develop. He will have some shade of blue eyes though. Here is an old pic of mom and dad which better shows eye color...

Congratulations Ryan and Tabatha, your baby boy is so beautiful. The eye colour does change and keeps changing until the child is about 2. My granddaughter had the most amazing blue eyes just like her Grandmother on the other side of the family. They have slowly been changing until they are the grey blue on our side of the family
