View Full Version : So Pleased to find this fabric

I was looking thru the fabrics ( yardage ) just now....and to my delight and surprise, I found some beautiful steam locomotive fabric !
My DH was a model train enthusiast ( of steam locomotives ) and when I found this fabric, the tears came. Even after almost 12 yrs I still find things that brings me to tears over something that reminds me of my soulmate Terry. While I thought about putting just white for backings on the memory quilts I am making for our kids, I think I am going to purchase this fabric instead :
( there's more than one style of these locomotive yardages.)
I was truly blessed to have had such a wonderful man in my life for almost 29 yrs.

Thanks so much for listening .....

What a great idea! Your children will absolutely love it. (btw, is that why your screen name is "Red Caboose"?)
Hugs to you, quilty friend!

To SallyO'Sews who asked : (btw, is that why your screen name is "Red Caboose"?)

You're right, this is the reason WHY my user name is redcaboose 1717 ....( Terry and I were the same age, born 4 months apart on the 17th of the month )
When Terry passed away, many people asked me "not" to change my email address either ( which has redcaboose in the email address too ) Seems they tend to identify me with the "redcaboose" now, and that's okay.
When I remarried just a couple of years ago, new DH John added 4 numbers to the email address ( we had switched ISP's ) ...and at first a lot of people asked if the numbers had something to do with my B-day and year born......( they don't ) In fact I didn't know for awhile that the numbers had something to do with a pin number ( long gone now ) DH John had.
For quite awhile, I think people tend to think that when you go on with your life, you "forget" happy times, etc. ....Not true. You just never forget, and it makes it easier to go on....especially having had so many wonderful years with someone.

Thanks everyone....I appreciate your comments......:)
Huggs back !

Jacqueline -- I have just a tad over 2 yards of this train fabric -- the fabric is screen printed - from Hoffman International --
I don't know how old it is -- I believe it is vintage and 100% cotton - I couldn't find any FYI online --
I picked it up at an estate sale last summer -- I've only folded it -- so it hasn't been washed yet
--- you are more than welcome to it -- just PM me with your mailing address
