Okay.. la, la, la, la. lol

I just got back from a couple of store runs to finish up my swap pals box. So tomorrow is sewing Sunday. I got my machine working so I can finish up something else up too. Dang rotary blades cost a fortune though!

I had a nice conversation with the girl that works there (the owner's dd) She was making a Christmas quilt that was super cute. It had a lot of pink, which I'm sure wouldn't go over to well with someone here. lol

Just finished the top for my granddaughters tumbler quilt. Quite scrappy looking since she came to the fabric store and picked out all the fabrics. Since I have to piece the back (incorrectly according to those darn quilt police) I am putting a strip of the tumblers on the back and have iron on transferred a picture of my number 2 cutie on one of the tumblers.

As an empty nester (but living with my daughter and granddaughter) I would expect to have more time to do for me and do all that I like to do. But my younger daughter moved back from being away a year and I seem to be busierthen ever and always doing something with one of them

I have not sewn all week. I am looking forward to escaping to my sewing room in the morning. I want to finish piecing togethermy 2013 craftsy bom. Thats the goal for the week Should be able to get a lot done tomorrow

Next year - i am getting a place of my own. It will be the first time in my life that I will have a place of my own since I got married right out of highschool. I just know it will be awesome. Cant wait!

Have a good night all :)

Just sitting here finishing up some hand stitching on a quilting project. Reading up on some posts on the forum and trying to relax before going to bed.
DH had a rough day but it was nice as our pastor came and spent the afternoon with him and they both watched college football together. He really enjoyed it.

Finishing up the last of the 25 Halloween mug rugs I'm making for the Adult Day Support group DH attends. Have come to love all the people that go there. Some have brain damage, cancer, dementia etc and go there to give their caregivers a break...as in our situation. The facilitators will have a mug rug by each of their chairs with their coffee on Friday for their Halloween Party...so sweet.

Hopefully can get some sleep soon. Take Care all.

We started the day heading north to Seattle. I wanted to eat at a restaurant I had heard nothing but raves about, and I have to say, I can't understand why! It was a small fortune, the service was non-existent, and the food was blah. Needless, to say, we won't be returning!

From there, we headed to Tulalip where there is a big casino (and I lost all I played with but 68 cents!) and a HUGE outlet mall. Well, I have not been in a Coach store in months, yet I could not bring myself to buy anything! Same with the Doony Bourke outlet! Several I liked, but left with nothing. I think my husband thought something was wrong with me! I told him, yes, something is wrong with me! All I could think was how much fabric I could buy instead......I AM A QUILTER!!! He just laughed.

Stopped at Olive Garden on the way home. I love their salad and breadsticks, which I had along w/an appetizer that was a chicken breast with a sweet red wine sauce.....it was delicious! I'd recommend it to anyone.

I was glad my husband drove home as it was really dark on the road and it was an hour drive. Now here I sit with my elevated foot.

Just home from a belated birthday supper for my step-dad. He asked for apple pie, so I baked him one. It came out a bit more liquidy than I would have liked, but it was still tasty!

I have to return Dad's sweatshirts I bought him. They are one size too big. I am glad I didn't modify them before I gave them to him. He is on dialysis and they need to have access to his harm, so if the sleeve can't be easily pushed up they just cut off the sleeve. This leaves his lower arm exposed, and apparently it gets pretty cold in the room. My guess is that it's not so much the actual temperature of the room, but the processing of the blood. So, Once I get the right sized sweatshirt, I am going to create an opening in the sleeve that the technicians can use to access his vein, but still leave his arm mostly covered.

For the rest of tonight, I will listen to what's left of the football game and work on the quilt some more. I'd really like to get that bugger off the table soon. Well, it sounds as if half-time is about over. You all have a good evening.

Cathy they cut off the sleeve? That seems totally wrong to me to ruin someone's property. They can't just roll it up?

They do it all the time. I am sure they asked him if it was OK first.

I went fabric shopping last night and found some really pretty flannel for a rag quilt that I am making for the daughter of a friend I lost almost 4 years ago.

We are under a snowfall warning so I'm quite happy I have a quilt to work on. I plan on staying in my Pjs all day! We are supposed to get 10-20cm of snow! Nothing like a wallop right off the bat...grr.

Hello fellow night owles. I have not touched my sewing machine in a week, but I have been learning how to crochet. I love youtube! It is such a valuable tool for teaching!

I hope all is doing well. I've enjoyed reading your post tonight. You are all great owels and I wish for you all to keep on sewing and creating.

What you can do with the sweatshirts is put in an extra strip in fleece and put in snaps along the arms part.

I've done this for some of my husband's sweatshirts for when then have administer some of his meds by IV.

Just open up the sleeve and insert a piece of fleece and add a couple of snaps, it works great for the nurses.

I picked up my parents quilt from the LAQ on Friday and was pleasantly surprised how it turned out. My first time doing that and my first full sized quilt so I was a bit nervous... I work 4- 12 hr shifts then I plan on getting right back at my projects in progress for Christmas gifts. Working on a Spiderman quilt for my grandson that I will be quilting by myself. I also have mug rugs to make and gifts for my married children..

Our son and his wife just found out they are expecting a girl, so I need to get started on a darling baby quilt for her. So much to do and so little time! Hard to believe Christmas is now less than 2 months away...yikers! :)

Thanks Kim!
That is kind of what I had planned to do. I even have some snazzy snap tape I bought on clearance before Em was born & I thought I might need it for baby clothes. Then I realized I could buy clothes on end of season clearance cheaper than I could make them.
I am sure they did ask before they cut the sleeve off. My guess is that is why Dad took his oldest/grungiest sweatshirts in for the treatment. Mom is appalled at their condition, which is probably why she suggested that Dad needed new sweatshirts for his birthday. She also knew I wouldn't be happy just letting them cut off the sleeve. See, Mom's are sneaky like that!

I want to be done with this quilt! I know I can probably knock it out by tomorrow afternoon, but I have so many other things I want to be working on/playing with! Ugh! I am afraid I have quilter's ADD!

Well, this was a nice break, I had better get back to it for a little while longer.

I get a kick out of what my DD posts to my facebook!

That is a great idea for the sweatshirt sleeves.
DH and I spent the day out and about, ate dinner out and got home to watch the baseball game. It was such an up and down game and the ending was crazy! I was going to do some handquilting, but couldn't concentrate during the game, so I got absolutely nothing done this evening.
DH has been up and down all night and now has a stuffy nose and finding it difficult to breathe, so I will probably be up for awhile. I seem to be wide awake anyway.
I do plan to do some sewing tomorrow (well, today) during the football game. I will either finish a border for a lap quilt or sew together a rag quilt for one of the grandkids. I started four of them for last Christmas, but put them on hold when DH had surprise heart surgery right before Christmas. I better get back to them or they won't be done this year either.
