Should any of you ever find that you have placed a really hot bite of food in your mouth and that in order not to burn your tongue, you manage to stick it up between your gums and cheek, DON'T!!! I managed to actually blister my gums, and now it's raw because the blister popped. Wish I had some ice cream ...

BTW, if that happens again, I am spitting the offending food out of my mouth. Just giving everyone fair warning.

Ouch, I can't even imagine how that feels. I've never actually blistered my gums on something hot but have scorched the top of my mouth with pizza. However, the worst is when I decide to eat captain crunch cereal because the roof of my mouth is always raw for days after that.

I feel bad for you.

I'm sorry your in pain. Hope your gums feel better soon.

If the pain is really bad, perhaps your dentist can suggest something to help sooth them.

Absolutely spit it out, Sorry for your hurting mouth!:( I think the cool (not cold) tea is a good remedy, try something like Oxygel which aids inside the mouth healing.. Hope you feel well soon.

I'm so sorry to hear that you got hurt. At a restaurant I lunged for my glass of ice water, which did the trick but it was very scary. At a friend's house I ran for the kitchen sink, turned on the faucet and stuck my head under the running water. Too bad she also had 20 other guests there. I'd rather be embarrassed than have a burned tongue.

I hope you heal quickly.

Myrna! You made coffee come out my nose!

This morning it feels fine. I guess the raw spot has toughened up. Normally the only thing I've ever burned myself on is the hot pizza slice that seems to adhere to the roof of your mouth instantly. Last night it was a piece of steak. Would have seemed like a waste to spit out a good piece of steak, although the dogs probably would have been happy.
