Mine son started Third grade this Tuesday. My granddaughter starts Kindergarten on next Thursday. My son is gone from 8:20 am until 3:55 pm. A long day for an 8 yr old. I feel like the summer flew by far too fast this year.

I wish my kids didn't go back to school until after Labor day---when I was in school it was always after the holiday. My son has been back to school for 2 1/2 weeks now.

I have such fond memories of my first day of school each year. After my sister & I got onto the bus, I could swear that I saw my mother doing cartwheels and jumping through hoops! Think she was happy when school started?

Our local school doesn't go back until the 9th which for me means being unable to come home until after 3.30 as I can't get I the car park for parents picking up their kids :(

school here doesn't start till the monday after labor day as they have all the jewish holidays off also and there is one right after labor day I see. Thank goodness I don't have to deal with kids going back to school, don't miss those days.... But wait I work retail so yes I have been dealing with it the last few weeks. At least its not on a personal level. All you Moms out there rejoice in your freedom from the kids for a few hours.
