Good Morning, Ladies

Hubs is out the door, I am on my second cuppa coffee and all looks pretty good to me right now. Yes, the wind is still blowing! Did it make it on the national news or was it just on my local news this a.m. about two little girls playing in a bounce house and one was bounced 100 miles away - landing on someone's roof? Whoa, we're not in Kansas anymore, Toto! What a terrifying ride that would have been.

I expect my Sis will be here for our Monday Sew In. I refuse to answer the phone today and I refuse to clean anything. Actually, I do have to work this afternoon briefly for a client who had a sudden death in the family. So, I will at least have to clean myself up a bit. Rats. I wanted to be a total stinky slob today for a change. Sigh.

Crazy dreams all jumbled up but one I do remember is dreaming of Joe Frazier and Muhammed Ali. Now I ask you, WHY???? I could see the two of them in a parking lot of a grocery store, using the parking lines as their personal territory. You know like when you draw a line in the sand? Big yellow parking lines and Ali is saying in my dream, "This line is mine, if you cross it, it's a crime." Again, I ask, WHY? See, it's time like this that I wish my Daddy was still here. He would've enjoyed having that dream. Me? I am looking at my coffee and doughnut thinking I could never give up these vices, but I could sting worse than a bee if you tried to take it from me.

Check in later, dear ones.

Goood morning Blondie
It's already 51 here this morning. But this time tomorrow we are supposed to have more snow. I don't think it supposed to be anything big but you never know. Today I am heading to a local quilt shop. Our neighbor is having a baby and I have to get fabric for the baby quilt. I got a new pattern from Lizzie B Creative that I want to make. Have a great day

My feet hit the floor at four forty-four.

Blondie - All I can say is you have to cut out those bedtime snacks. Isn't it strange how our minds work when we're trying to rest? One does wonder where all those strange thoughts come from. We all have them, but I have yet to dream about boxers - two or four-legged ones.

I'm sneaking off to the sewing room this morning - hopefully to work on Zoe's gingham check quilt top. Hubby is supposed to be putting together our tax booklet to take to the accountant. He's been 'supposed' to do this for about three weeks now. He also has to make his next arrangements to go to California again in March to see his Mom and Dad. He was on the phone Saturday to finalize arrangements and got a long distance call . . . anything like that throws him off schedule. I'm so glad he doesn't run on tracks - we'd have to have a crane in so we could lift him back on all the time.

To all my wonderful friends - have the greatest of great Mondays. May the weather be decent, your hearts be light, your fingers be nimble, and your life be right.

Morning Gals. Im up not much at em, but nothing a cup of java wont take care of. Then its off to get my post chemo shot then off to work. Since I lost my hair, I have a few more minutes to lounge around before the made dash.
Blondie have fun with the Sissy days. I miss my Sissy days. She doesnt like sewing so thats out. We can do wood crafts but she doesnt like my basement. WHAAAAAAAAAA! Oh well one day she will come around again. I did have breakfast with her Sat so thats ok.
Part of the cable is froze and I need to know what the weather is going to be like. When I worked in the shop I knew what to wear. Now that I am in the office, thats a different story. UGH!!! Iim not a girlie girl so this is gonna be fun.
You gals have a funfilled Monday and keep your fingers crossed that I can make it the whole day at work. This is my goal since its three days after treatment. That was when I crashed the last time.

Good Morning! I did not see that on the news but will have to look that up. That is crazy. I was hoping for a grunge day today as well. I am off all week but must get out and get a haircut today. The weather has been so nice here i got spring fever and cleaned really good last week so hopefully free to sew this week, although I did tell hubby I was going to work in the yard so will have to get some of that done I guess. As long as I keep him in ironed shirts he will be happy. Everyone have a great week

62 balmy degrees here. No sun, we are getting some rain. Hopefully it will wash all the salt off our streets and parking lots. My school parking lot is solid white, I keep expecting to see a few cows licking at it. Cuppa of coffee and off to work for me. It's getting harder and harder for me to go to work, I am so ready for retirement, but I have eight more years. GROAN! Tonight, I plan on working on a whirlygig baby quilt--I'm really enjoying this little quilt--so easy and fast. I need fast, I have three more baby quilts to make by the end of the school year. Happy Monday to all!

Good morning all! Today is day 4 of my 5 day weekend. Going to finish the quilting on my Luna Notte pinwheel lap quilt, and hopefully make a start on a Dresden project using the other wildflowers iv charm pack. Will do just enough housework to not feel guilty :-). Have a wonderful day, everyone!

It is a terribly cold and windy day here, so I think today I will get the binding on the quilt that I was supposed to do on Saturday. Will catch up on the soap that I missed on Friday.

Paula I hope you have a wonderful day. I am praying all your treatments go well from here on in.

Happy Monday
Happy quilting
Stay warm and stay safe everyone

Morning previous posty gals and all who follow,
Some strange dream you had there Blondie. You must've ate something strange to cause all that "action"! Have fun with Sis, all I had was brothers and none of them sew.
I'll be thinking of you Paula and saying a little prayer that you have a good day!
Deb I am soooo envious of your 5 days! My 2 just seemed to fly by. Take a moment to soak in the joy of it!
Waving hi to all I did not mention ~~~~~~~ <---my waves!
Got most of my rag quilt squares set up and if BF works tonight I am going to finish cutting some jeans for the few charms squares I have left, stitch the X's on the rest of them and lay them out to see if the size is big enough. If not I will have to dig out a coordinating fabric and do a few more. I think this is going to go together pretty quick. First rag quilt I've done!
Well, back to my bagel thin & fat free cream cheese - so glad they made them in cinnamon raisin now!
Take care!

Morning!. Paula hang in there. Don't over do it. I want you to get well and stay well!
Sunny here this morning but that is to change. Snow and COLD....hopefully this will be the last!
Went to an antique auction yesterday...ended up buying a tin of Red Rose flour that has never been open. It will stay that way. Don't think flour over 50's years old would be very good...lol:lol:
After the auction I was invited to the house that the tin came from and ended up coming home with a beautiful rag rug and some kitchen stuff. Love stuff from the 30's and 40's. I am currently working on a quilt using feedsack material from that time period. Now that I know how I will post a pic when I am done. Well must get my breaky and get ready for work. YUCK..I really don't like mondays unless it's a holiday :D
Hugs to you all!

Good morning everyone. Paula our prayers are with you. And I hope today is a good day for you. Love you sweetie.
Blondie you have weird dreams like I do. I just call them my little movies. Joe thinks they are hysterical. Especially if I start talking during them. He always has to tell me what stupid things I say in my sleep. But I always get revenge as he talks more in his. lol

It's cold and windy here too, plus we had a lot of snow last night and this morning. We got about 7 inches which really isn't that much. I just worry for Joe when he goes out and the wind is blowing the snow around. It's 13 degrees but feels like -4 with the windchill. We probably have a couple more of these little storms before it's really spring. Heck we have had snow storms that have buried us in April before.
I'm waiting to here from Suzi when my blocks get to her. I thinking she should have them by wed. at the latest. Can't wait to get the blocks back, can you Sally?
Well, I'll close this boring note now and go find something to sew. Love to all, Jan L

We are taking our oldest for his preschool evaluation and placement interview at the preschool we want him to attend today. The twins will be staying with their pap, and we also will be taking Terry to the barn for one on one time with mommy and daddy to play with the horses. He is such a doll baby when the other two are not around, and it's so important that he gets our full attention here and there.

The wind has died down but the fog rolled in. We are supposed to get 3-5 inches of snow tonight. Yuck!

I can't imagine being in that bounce house! Scary!

Have a blessed day!

Hey gals

Paula, I hope you had a terrific day. I make sure to remember you especially in prayer.

Lin, you must be so proud of your fella. Such a very special time for Mom's and their boys. Enjoy all of his sweetness. Thinking of my two grown ones at that age makes me all weepy. Like I said, a very special time.

My Sis day got screwed up. I declare, we just have to keep trying! Mom needed to get to the Dr because her cold was getting worse and we are concerned since she has the surgery coming up soon. Soooooo, back to the Dr's office and then to get an x ray to make sure she doesn't have pneumonia. When I got her back home, I was heating her some soup in the microwave (leftover homemade chickie noodle, my specialty) and her range top cracked!
She has one of those new kind of smooth top stoves and it has been nothing but a headache. Called Sears because she has a service contract and they tried to tell me it didn't cover that. Those tops don't crack. I said it did now and it will be covered. See you on Thursday morning. I despise these extended warranties that you are guilted and worried into paying for and then they say it doesn't cover it? Exxxcccuuuuseee ME.

Got dinner going, will check back later.

Good to hear Paula. You're right prayer helps!
Blondie I know what you mean. Sears tries every which way to back out of their side of the agreement. When I had to have service for my new tv, they came out 4 times, they finally changed the board in the tv and it still didn't work. I got so mad I went over their heads and called the company. Samsung sent their own people out and changed the cables out and wa la it worked perfect. Sears must have gotten an ear full cause they called us and gave us an extra year on the contract for free and have been calling to ask if we are still having good service with the tv. One of my friends worked for sears and said they are a terrible company for doing the right thing. She said stay on them and eventually they will change their tune if you threaten to go to the company that made the product. So if it's a kenmore, call Whirlpool and you should see them go to work then. Hugs, Jan

Today did not turn out as planned. Our little boy's appointment was moved to next week, because of a conflict in scheduling. Boo. Watching him grow is so exciting, but how on Earth is he ready for preschool?! We ended up enjoying the day at home, but then I got a call from my mom.

We've noticed some weirdness with my mom's behavior and movement for awhile now. She's had tremors in her one hand for awhile, and I noticed them getting worse, and kept telling her to go to a specialist, since her doctor dismissed it as just a tremor. She actually fell in her pool after losing her balance one day.

She went to a neurologist today, and she diagnosed her with Parkinson's. I'm still trying to wrap my head around it, even though my suspicions have been Parkinson's for awhile now. I know she's had the tremors for years so this isn't new, and everyone with Parkinson's progresses differently. I think that's going to be the hardest part-not knowing.

I'm just going to place my trust in God that He knows what He's doing.

Hi Lin, That's a tough break for your Mom and for you. It's a tough disease to deal with. My husband and I will pray for your Mom and for you. Keep the faith. And read all the stuff you can find out about Parkinson's. The web MD is a good place to go or to the Parkinson foundations web page. That should give you a lot of information. We'll pray and keep your Mom in our thoughts. Hugs, Jan

Hi gals
home again and really tired out from run run run like the gingerbread man. Only in for a few minutes.

Lin, I am sorry to read about your Mom. I've had clients over the years that develop parkinson's and it is different for everyone. I had one guy that was in his 70's that developed it and did very well - he was a determined man and never wanted to retire. i truly believe a lot of our outcome and rehab, etc. come from our mental well being. It sure doesn't hurt to keep a positive light on things. Do you live close enough to be able to go to Dr's with her? I have found with my own folks that an extra set of ears works wonders. Big boy has another appt next week? Just think of it as another opportunity for another special day with him.

Paula, thrilled to hear the praise report! Yippee!

Jan, yeppers, these folks are always wanting to sell sell sell and then back way out. I will do my bestest to keep them on their toes. I figure I already have a PhD in elder care, let me get out my smile and southern charm. And iron fist inside a velvet glove.

Good nite ladies. I may not be back in here bright and early. I am going to stay with Mom tonite.

Evening All!

Lin, I am sorry to read about your mom. My grandfather is dealing with it now. I find it odd that this was the disease that he has. He has always been the master of his domain, now he can't even control his own body. I hope that you can get her the help that she needs. Good for you in making her see another doctor. The earlier you get the treatment started, the better off she will be.
Paula, I am happy to hear that your side effects have been mild. Let's hope that it continues to be so.

I had a good day. I went to trim hooves for some folks who are friends of my step-dad. We had a nice visit, and then I came home to pick up Em and we went to Mom & Dad's to help my mom take down and put away her Christmas decorations.
I love her, but she decorates everything! She even has a cling sticker that would stick to the lid of the toilet if it weren't covered with one of those fuzzy jobs. I got her started cleaning and packing. I'll come back at the end of the week and help her move the totes out to the garage and bring in the spring stuff. I dread the day that they both pass away and we have to clean out that house!
Now I am home and would like to sew, but I would also like to just go to bed. My cutting table is covered with paperwork that needs to find a home in a file for Em's school educational plans. I am thinking of busting open the honey bun and just sewing the strips together to get started on the Jellystone Park pattern. That won't require any cutting until I have all of the strips together. Then I can still sew without having to clean up first! I think I'll give that a go, at least for a while.
Have a good evening! Cathy
