I was getting my hexi papers from my fabric store. Well today she only had two packs. They where different from the ones i was buying. They where only 50 prices in a pack for $5.00. I was getting 100 prices for the same price. Well she told me she was not getting anymore because they where not selling. Just to let you know when she got them in I would buy all that she had and would have to wait till she reordered. I was going to buy on line but it cost to much so my hubby made a page of hexi's and took it to the print shop. He brought me a stack of hexi sheets. They added up to be 500 hexi's. And on a good card stock. Well it took me about 30 to 45 minutes to cut them all out. And it cost $5.89. Just wanted to share that with you guys.
HAPPY HEXI-ING

I bought a package of 100 at the Paducah quilt show for $3.95. I ordered more from Connecting Threads this week. I saw a blog this week and the lady had hexis that you could print. I am addicted! It's something I can do while sitting and watching TV. It keeps me from eating at night.

I'm using 'iron-on' ones which dissolve after washing - saves a lot of time even though they are a little expensive $8.50 for 100.

Great for 1" or smaller

I buy my hexie foundations at www.paperpieces.com. Good prices, good service and nice website. There are several other foundation shapes that also make fab quilts.

I've been using this template which is a free download on texasfreckles.com. It works great for me. I've only done them on regular printer paper which I've had no problems with. When I do them again, I will probably do them on a heavier paper so they last longer. I'm too cheap to buy them...lol. It doesn't take long to cut them out and to buy them at $5.00 for 100 pieces, and I'm making at least 1000 so that's $50 that I can use on fabric, not templates.

I'm actually also keeping the diamonds in between in case I need them too.

I print and cut my own too. I can always talk hubby into cutting them out for me, so far he has cut nearly all of them! :icon_kiss:

My DH is cutting mine.....he told me that he thought if was best is one person cuts them all, to get them as much alike as possible.
He is cutting right now, I have just printed another 360 hexies, takes only 40 pieces of normal computer paper.....
I use this site also : http://moxyideas.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/moxyideas_1.5in_hex.pdf

I have 600 basted so far!

Oh and Stacey since you are into the hexies also, do you need scraps?? I could ship you some, I have so many leftover from all the lovely ladies on here that had sent me some, I would be more than happy to pass those on to you, just let me know!!

Can I ask a stupid question? Keep in mind I am new to quilting. Well, first...is there a link to a tutorial for making these? second...what will you so with them after you have them made. I am trying to think of something I can do at our camper, otherwise I will never make it up there this year. Thanks!!

I'm not good at posting things but if you go the groups at the top of the page. Their is a group for the hexi's. You can look at the pic's.
Someone else I hope will put some links on here for you. You can also go on YouTube and put in hexagon quilts
