It's Tuesday. Folksies!

Yesterday was very cool and very breezy here on The Hill. I was down at Mom's doing some yard work and gave that up. Hubs called and said it was a perfect day to be outside. Of course it was if you were splitting wood! Otherwise it was perfect for looking at the glorious blue skies from inside next to the fireplace. It really was a very beautiful day. The coolness wouldn't have been so bad if it had not been so very breezy.

I made chicken for dinner last night. It was good, even if I say so myself. I am not a chicken person. More of a beef and pork kinda person and oh so not a vegan, although we eat even more veggies than when I was a child. So being a carnivore, I have to admit that I am not really fond of chicken. My sis is the chicken person. She likes chicken so much she eats it several times a week. blech, yuckie, pooh! She recently tried a seasoning packet called General Tsao's chicken by Sunbird. She has shared some with us over the past few months and I finally made some yesterday using boneless chicken thighs. It was quite yummy. Slight hot/spice but not overmuch. You could always spice it up more by adding your own extra stuff. Okay, should I have put this under recipes? Too late. It is staying here.

In just a little while I need to be on the road to the city with Mom for yet another retina specialist visit. Each visit, I am hoping for her sake, that this will be the last visit. And I am sure hoping that this one will not be the hurry up to get there and then sit on my keister waiting in a room full of people.

This will be my last post for several days. Let me think of something that will make me smile before I leave. First I need to take another sip of coffee. Oh I know. I have a few things ready in my sewing satchel to stitch on the next few days. I was up late last night compiling it all. I just love the feel of fabric. Which is why we are all here. And why is that commercial with the man singing "so many things your hands can do?" going through my head? I do sing that jingle quite a bit. Now I am smiling.

Prayers for our special sister Marilyn, Steffi and many others who have unspoken prayer requests. I certainly may feel helpless and far away - and not have much to give to the ones I love but I can certainly give my time in prayer for their needs. If I was closer I would take charge. hmmm, that may not be ideal but I have been called The Little General by one Dr. because I get things done. My Daddy always called me Bossy. Yep. I always know what everyone else should be doing. Hoping each of you have a good rest of the week. Off to put on my bossy clothes and take charge of my mind, mouth and heart.

Smile because you aren't me this week. Now that makes me smile.

Blondie, may your week be peaceful, and may you get lots done in your waiting rooms! That is the most difficult thing for me. When my late hubby was sick, I could barely stand all the waiting. We went to the ER so many times, we always waited at least 5 hours every time. After 5 hours, I was ready to jump out a window. The only thing that saved me was a little electronic device called a PDA, it had the game Bejeweled on it, which took my mind away from the reality of sickness, doctors, and time passing, with hours of my life gone that I'd never get back. That was the most difficult thing about making sure he had the care he needed, it just TOOK SO LONG to get it! You are a saint to make sure your mom has the care she needs, I feel your pain!

And I still play Bejeweled 9 years later! Everyday, and often!

Good morning ladies. I hope your week isn't too bad Blondie. It was a lovely day yesterday. I came home at lunch time, did laundry and it got hung outside. First time this year. I did not get everything done that I wanted. I did manage to get the table runner finished for the swap. That will go out today. I think I may come home again today at lunch, I haven't decided yet, although I may have to work extra hours today. I sure could have slept longer this morning. I am still tired.

The purolator man came to the door while I was home yesterday. My son and daughter-in-law sent my birthday gift. I got a lovely Scentsy warmer and some wax. Smells heavenly in here at the moment.

I think my computer will go to the doctor's today. I still have trouble with a key sticking. Good time to get it looked at.

Have a wonderful day friends. Prayers going out to those in need.

Good morning...I am hating getting up this early every morning. The guys aren't going hunting because it has been raining on and off but the critters have gotten use to getting up so they all decided it was time to get up and go out!
The only good thing about getting up this early is I get my coffee sooner!

Got to get in the shower and get ready to go...we are going to Springfield today. The guys are looking for some black powder supplies. I am looking forward to the Chinese Buffet! Maybe I can get some fabric buying in too, but I doubt it...I can't see the guys waiting around for me to buy fabric.

Have a great day. Hugs and prayers to all.

Good morning! I cut grass late yesterday. I've never seen grass grow so fast so early. The sun is coming up brightly and shining into the living room. I'm a person who needs sunshine so I'm always glad to see it. I have an early work meeting in a different location today so I've got to leave home a little earlier. That means I can't sit and sip my coffee as long as I'd like. Good thoughts and prayers for all in need of them.

Good morning all!

Blondie: waiting is hard and we will surely miss you the next few days. I hope all goes well for your Mom and that you accomplish most of what you set out with your sewing. God bless you for that hand sewing.

Jean: The waiting was horrible but Bejewel, I love it. I have it on my tablet and I play whenever I have to wait for anything.

Steffie: Still crying tears of joy here and they are worth it. I am just so happy for you.

My day is going to be full of what now time. I want to see GD Kora but I don't want to drive to my Mom's. I have to do that early tomorrow so maybe I will have them here. Who knows. I have some errands but they are flexible. I will vacuum, take something out for dinner and play it by ear. I don't have a lot of days like that so when I do I thoroughly enjoy them.

Prayers to all who need them and I hope those that need help get it!

Good morning all

Not much going on here. Had our building block class last night. I am really enjoying learning as a new quilter. Worked on a BOM when I got home. Went to bed early for me and am up and at them getting ready for a New products training class in Springfield this morning at 7:30. I still don't know why we have to keep adding food to our menu...we have enough to choose from!!

Hopefully tonight will be relaxing...maybe the kiddies home...doubtful as they are busier than me. Rain is expected all day today and there is a cold front behind it packing 32 degree lows...did someone say spring was here.....??

Everyone have a great day!!

Good Morning,

I got up way too early today...2:30. Not sure why I was wide awake, but I'm not one to lay in bed fretting over why I can't sleep. I get up and find something to do. After Jeff got up we hauled several loads of cut ornamental grass to the burn pile because they are predicting storms with high winds for us today and we didn't want to have to pick it up from all over the yard. The cuttings are about 8 feet long. I never did yard work in the dark before in my robe and slippers. So glad I didn't step on a snake!

Blondie, good luck with Mom's appointments and your time in the waiting room. It's nice to have something to read or to work on. I hope all goes well with the doctors.

Monique, you got a great gift of Scentsy!! My favorite smell is the CamuCamu....my oh my, I love that smell to fill our whole house. I haven't been able to burn my scents lately because of Jeff's allergies. I really miss it!

Marilyn, extra prayers for you going out today...feel better real soon.

I'm off to see the wizard and to eat some breakfast. Wishing y'all a stellar day...Hugs, Barb

Good morning...

Special prayers going to all those in need. I was thrilled with Steffi's good news. :)

Blondie, I hope everything goes well with your mom....and your waiting time goes by quickly.

Not much going on here. I think tonight I'm going to take a look at my cutting table......do some measuring....because mine is too high and is causing me some shoulder pain.

Last night I made a quilt for a cat. My DD thought her cat should have a quilt made by g-ma. I used leftover charm squares....the quilt is a real hodgepodge....cat in the hat, christmas, candy, flowers....lol. I didn't worry overmuch if the SITD wasn't in the ditch or if my corners were off.....but the cat is the proud owner of a quilt.

Well better get some bills filed away so I can pay them later this week....have a wonderful day!

Good morning... Blondie... I hope that things go well, and easy and that we don't pester you too much over the next few days waiting to find out that everything is ok!

It's a bit breezy, I agree, but I see some sun too... Arlie went to a baseball game last night and froze!
Laylabug and I painted yesterday. She taste tested the blue finger paint, and didn't care for it...so it was all over her face...fun photos up on Facebook...

I worked on a little giftie last night..finally got it all figured out and think I will be making a LOT of them!

Take care, ALL... and HUGS where needed.....

Good Morning :) I was able to get some holes dug up yesterday and the ground treated and ready for me to plant some more peonies. I'm still looking for a lilac bush and can't find one anywhere! My azalea's are in full bloom and so pretty (my youngest son loves azalea's) and my Irises are so plentiful this year. Amazing. I've gone from 4 rose gardens down to 1 in 13 years and the one that is left only has a few bushes now. I have had no luck with roses here :( so I'm replacing them all with peonies. I am patiently waiting for the hydrangea's to bloom :) I just love them.
I have to admit spring is my favorite time of year. New life. Watching everything bloom and come to life. Now if my grass would just behave itself. My neighbor across the street has weeds for grass and when he mows it all blows over here and I end up with all his weeds :( URGH.
Have a wonderful and blessed Tuesday everyone. Prayers to those in need.

Love the snow pic. We don't get much in the Dallas area. We used to, back in the 50's, but not any more.

Blessings and prayers to all of you who have asked and those who haven't.

It is cooler today and might get some rain. Today is the dedication of the Bush Library so Dallas is hopefully ready for all of the special people who will be here.

Today, I think I will be sewing on our retreat blocks. I need to make at least twenty and have done eight. The retreat is in October and I want them done before then....long before then. The retreat is in Atlanta, GA the first weekend in October.

I think Pizza Soup is for dinner.

have a great day!

I'm checking in kind of late this morning as I got busy doing something and forgot about the computer. Spring has unsprung around here as it's cold again - I'll never get the deck plants done if this keeps up. DH is off to PT session and getting my car a lube job, when he get back we'll go food shopping. He was a bit unhappy last night as the only snack was graham crackers so we'll get some goodies for him along with what is on my list.

Hang in there everyone, May

Hello Blondie and dear quilty sisters,

as I have written already I am quite happy today. AFter I posted my update to you guys and girls, I was able to take a nap. I slept for 2 or 3 hours straight through. I was very tired! When I woke up, I found not one, but two kitties gathered at my legs, snuggling against them under the blanket. That's quite rare since Karma normally only comes to the bed when Shaco is not there or other way round. This time they were snuggled up against my legs and each other. Hmmm.

Blondie, I hope you don't have to wait too long. Waiting is killing, I know. It drives one nuts. I also wish that you will get done this week what you need and want to get done. Hugs from Finland to you!

Marilyn: I certainly hope that the docs will finally figure out what will help you. I will be thinking of you and send you many many hugs!

Jean: My hubby is hooked on Bejeweled on Facebook. He plays everyday at least once!

Monique: I hope your PC gets fixed!

Donna: Enjoy your buffet!

Myrna: Ihope you had a successful meeting!

Lisa: Thank you!!! I hope you'll have a great day!

Positive thoughts and many hugs to all of you! I hope all of you who need help will find someone helpful! Bless all of you!

Hugs,

Steffie

Just popping in. I've been lurking the last few days. Spring is here on the little farm and in my allergies. I too, am headed to Mom's to wag her around to her therapy and doctor's appointments.

Gotta scoot to get the little Miss off to school, the goats fed & milked, and get a shower before those appointments!

Y'all have a good day & I'll catchup on the the reading later!

Hello Everyone: Blondie, I hope things go well with your Mom and that you don't have to wait for hours on end. Seems like something is going on with too many people these days.
I decided to cut our four acres yesterday since the grass was really getting tall; did fine until I got the ZTR stuck before I could finish the front yard. Luckily I got a friend and his son to get it unstuck for me, but it was too late to finish the yard. Of course it rained today, so who knows when it will get finished. Oh well, no biggie! Indoor day to sew, clean, bake; whatever strikes my fancy.
Something must be going around as I have had a fever, cough, sore throat, headache etc. for the past 3 days. Very annoying! Better today, but still have headache and cough. Hope AuntieMerm is better by now.
I am wanting chocolate, so I may have to bake something. DH slept in and is now sleeping while sitting up on the couch with the tv on. Must be the weather. Hope we see the sun this week! Later!

Morning all, Good Morning! Yes, it is only 10:45 here and I had a wonderful nights sleep.

Many thoughts and prayers Blondie! Mom' and Dads are precious to have in our lives that makes me smile you still have yours :-)

Well my sleeping has been the main topic at our house for too long!!!!! it's either 18 hours a day or odd days like yesterday when I took a NAP from 5 - midnight *sigh* then hubs decided I had to head over to Silver City with him... not much sleeping with HIM driving! I worry about his mental state, I swear something is going on grrrr Or like Blondie's little plaque today, been acting "normal" and now it's time to get real again LMAO

Lovely weather in Silver City 74ish but wind blowing the allergic gunk around - so headache, sniffles, etc.. hmm Linda after mowing you sound like you have some allergies too?

Got home to 86 degrees -- oh Please keep that snow NORTH :-)

Progress on sewing room change ground to a halt -- MUST get over to storage and clean the 5th wheel, then take ALL the stuff here I took out for a good dishwasher, or laundry and put it back IN -- then will have room to move stuff into the other spare bedroom

SAD I missed the Daily Deal today it was so pretty, and .... it's been almost 1 month since I bought fabric - THAT is a crying shame!!!!

Sandy Irma.... I hear the need for a BREAK from your house talking to you, so I DO have 1 spare bedroom open and available -- Just saying, it isn't that far from Missouri to Arizona should you need to get in the car and just keep going until you reach sanity -- Ok sanity may not be HERE but hehehehe My house es su casa and all that :-)

Today new SUV has to go back to deal, paid registration on it twice!!! So hub is letting ME deal with it *grrr* Guess Like Blondie when I need to put my Bossy pants on -- Well them girls are coming out right now... and I'm off

Prayers to all ((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))) too, cuz we all need them

Debbie
