Happy Friday Folksies!

I feel almost giddy this morning! Yes, that's right. Downright giddy. It could be because I took some allergy meds last night and slept and slept and slept. It could be because now that I am awake and sneezing, I feel like I could sleep sleep sleep. Oh well. Giddy don't know nothing until I've had another cuppa. I will be stomping all over Friday by then. In a good way, of course. As in. it's Friday. Bring it on.

Jean, I started once again yesterday afternoon on the Falling Charms and decided that since I do not have a design wall, I will have to clear enough room on the floor to lay it out. Talk about feeling giddy.
So, I pieced blocks of another COC that a member sent me and got most of the border on it. I have one COC sandwiched that I am bringing to work this morning to start quilting.

Things on The Hill are really beginning to bloom. My azaleas are opening up, the dogwoods are ever so lovely and even my wisteria is showing it's color. We won't mention again how colorfully yellow/green my vehicle is these days.
Once I turn the wipers on, it almost looks as if it (the vehicle) is wearing goggles. lol.

Enjoy your day me wonderful peeps. You are in my thoughts, prayers with plenty of hugs, blessings and SMILES.

Wow! You are flyin' high today, girl! I can certainly hear the chipper in your voice. Take some pictures of the loveliness outside and post them for me. I miss the beauty of country life when spring rolls around. Have a super duper weekend.

Wow, Blondie! We're going to need to lasso you and bring you back down to earth!

I have alternate layout advice for your falling charms quilt, this is what I do. I have one of those cheap folding cardboard cutting mats. I think they cost $8. I lay that on my bed and do the layout on that. I can see the blocks, reach the blocks, and, if I can keep the cat off of it, keep them in order while I sew them together. Saves crawling around on the floor. If you need it wider, use a second mat overlapping the first. I think one of mine is at least 25 years old-- good investment!

I got talked into helping with a costume construction project, supposedly an emergency because a seamstress had to drop out because of illness. i have my doubts this group is notoriously " last minute". Anyway, during the rainy Thursday, I made 11 costume vests, nothing fancy, no lining or buttons, just bright costume shiny fabrics. Each one took 20 minutes to construct. I have 3 more to make. I hesitate to call and tell the director I'm finished for fear she'll ask me to do more of them! Think I'll wait til Monday!

Have a good day!

Hello Blondie, hi dear Quilting friends :)

True, today is Friday. It's 13.30 here and cloudy. It's quite warm, 9 or 10 degrees Celcius. We have only a bit snow left in the yard. Once it's gone, I will start the gardening. I don't dare yet because there's still a chance of freeze in the nights. Make sure you post pictures about your awesomeness in your garden, Blondie! Inspire me :)))

Today is also the day I had my first chemo therapy treatment. I have the "red chemo" or AC chemo as it's called. It makes your pee red and leaves a funny feeling in the mouth. It's normal. I hope that are the only side affects I will have from this session. I don't feel any nausea yet but I better won't!!! They gave me so many meds in the hospital that I am wondering how all of that stuff fits into my body. Oo I went in well prepared with the COC quilt, Annas Owl and a bag I made myself with some of Kellies fabrics out of her "Scrap bag". I closed my eyes and thought about what wonderful friends I have in the forum. So many caring people! I wanna say thanks to all of you. I received quite many PMs over the last days. Knowing that I am in your thoughts (and prayers) is such a good feeling, thank you for that! After only 1,5 hours the nurse came and said I am finished. All of the 5 huge bags of meds went in already. I got to eat a snack (I could choose between sandwiches, icecream (!!!), fruit, veggies and cookies) and coffee and then I was allowed to leave. Nice to know that the insane tax money amounts we pay here in Finland come at least to a good use. (Medical treatment and surroundings, like my breast prothesis and 360€ of a wig if I want one are tax-funded.)

Today I will sew... more bags. Haha!!! I may sadly not be so much around my kid because of the meds that can vaporize through my skin. It's bad for the baby. It comes through the skin for around a week. That means one more week I have my MIL around (I know I know she means only good...) to drive me crazy with her re-organising and cleaning. ;)

That being said I come to realise that I am a really lucky girl. I have so many caring people around me who support me as good as they can. This is such a good feeling.

Many hugs from Finland to all of you, positive thoughts for those of you who need them!

Steffie

Good morning! Jean, I agree you should wait til Monday to make your call and sound like you're worn out from all that hard sewing. I had a sore throat yesterday. Combine that with having to talk a lot at work and I now can barely talk at all. Maybe everyone will steer clear today and let me stay quiet. I'm glad it's Friday cause I need to rest and fight this cold.

Blondie, Rebecca, Jean and all MSQC, wishing you a wonderful, blessed day!

Not the sewing, that's for sure! hahaha! Well I can't hold her back anyway, you know. She is one of that persons that NEEDS to be busy with something 24/7. She never rests. I somehow admire her energy as it can also be very inspiring but it for sure can be very exhausting too! :)

Spring is beginning to appear on Blondie's Hill and it is making her giddy. Hope she's a bit more earth bound by now. Evidence of Spring is beginning to appear in my area with trees and shrubs blooming with color. I checked my big deck pots and only the sedum made it over the winter, sadly the big rosemary is gone. Will pick up some new plants at the farm market to bring some color on the deck this year.

DH is late again this mornng so I'm off to make the coffee and get started on my day. How does this place get so messy looking when it is just the 2 of use? May

PS: Good luck with your treatments Steffie. MIL sounds like my cousin, never sits still and being with a person like that makes you crazy as they have to be doing something every minute. Was at a group luncheon last week with cousin and she wouldn't let anyone help her do anything, I couldn't even pass the napkins to the other people. She sort of defeats the reason for group getting together for lunch as by the time she sits down to eat everyone else is finished

Good morning friends. I woke up with a sinus headache. The ENT specialist told me they don't give meds out anymore for that. WHY? He did give me nose drops that I must use twice a day. As for the snoring, it is because I have a small chin. All people with small chins snore. Hubby will just have to live with it as there is nothing to do about it. LOL!!

Blondie I so envy you with all your plants coming to life. We still have a little snow on the ground in some spots. I did rake the front of the house the other day. I get all the salt and sand from the road so I put it all back on the road. It looks a little better.

Jean, you are no doubt a machine. Wait till Monday, enjoy your weekend first.

Steffie, I hope the treatments don't leave you too down. Take care my friend. Thinking of you.

Hubby is going to Montreal today to get my son's vehicle to take on his trip next week. I may take a trip to Renfrew, Ont. to see Denis' new store. YES, our Denis has opened his new store. I might take pictures to show you all if he will let me.

Today is another work day. I NEED to get some quilting done but it just isn't in me at the moment.

Have a wonderful day friends.

Hi Everyone.

It looks like the storms have passed our part of Missouri. We got about 6 inches of rain with no more in sight until the middle of next week.

Steffie, I'm glad you have this treatment under way. You are lucky to have a MIL that is helping you with the house and with the baby. This gives you more time to sew! My thoughts and prayers are with you....(((HUGS))))!!

Pam, so glad your BF got a good report. Now you can concentrate on your school work.

Jeff has to work a double shift today and won't be home until midnight or so. I have to pick up a few groceries locally and then I will do a little housework and spend the rest of the time sewing. It's days like this I really miss Molly...she was always my little shadow and such good company.

Blondie, Spring is not as far along here as NC. There is a redbud tree blooming up our lane and the tulips and other spring flowers are up for real now. We're getting the green oak pollen also...allergies are bad for Jeff right now.

At this point one of the Boston Marathon bombers is dead and they are in pursuit of the other. They were brothers from Russia.

I wish everyone a great Friday leading into the weekend.

Hugs, Barb

Happy Friday, all! Blondie, I ***love*** it when I'm giddy! Those moods are so wonderful they almost scare me - like, "easy now, don't be toooo happy, you're tempting fate!"

Finished my spring wall hanging last night! So happy that it is done and hung. Kinda copped out on the table runners for the moment, going to go back and add embellishments to them, and I have another hanging to make for another wall. So fun to see spring inside as well as outside.

Guess I should get ready for work! Have a wonderful day, everyone!!!

Good morning....

It's a rainy morning here in Ohio but it's Friday!!!! And I'm ready to get the workday over with and get on with my week-end. I've been watching my flowers bloom...I finally have a tulip. After a long winter the colors of spring are just beautiful.

I finally put the extension table on my quilting machine and tonight I will put the hopping foot on. I'm going to start practicing some ruler work on it. I'm still cleaning and organizing my room....so that will be my "take a break" project.

No plans for the week-end and I keep telling myself "I must stay out of the quilt shop". OH, I did look at the DD....now I need to just forget about it - because it is beautiful.

Well need to get busy here. Have a wonderful day! Prayers and hugs

Wow, Monique, do take pictures of Denis' new store, quilt store, I take it. Wonder if he's going to sell machines, too. He's so good with machines! He did say he was taking a course in sewing machine maintenance and repair. Wish him luck from me!

Blondie send some energy my way. I finally finished the last of the Scarves and will get them in the mail tomorrow. Finally found out what my two nieces are having, one is having a girl. This is her first so I'm glad it is a girl. The other one is having another boy. Already have the stuff to do the quilts just now have to find the time to get them done so I can have them quilted in time to give. Had my oldest grandsons birthday party last Sunday, will have my youngest grandsons birthday tomorrow (Saturday). So hopefully I can get some sewing done tomorrow night.

Prayers going out to all who need them and to those who don't.

Have a good one.

Good Morning Ladies,

Sorry I have been kind of hit and miss. This week I have been on vacation and just being lazy. Wednesday I rode over to Bellingrath Gardens in Alabama. Such a beautiful place to visit. I should finish sewing the top for my snowball quilt this morning. Then the question of how to quilt this. I don't know weather to SID or cross hatch as I had not given FMQ a go yet. I have even been giving a thought to doing a tied quilt with it. I really want to give FMQ a try but not with this quilt as it is a full size quilt. So open to any suggestion from you lovely ladies as how to quilt this.

Wishing everyone a wonderful day.

Good Morning everyone! Blondie, I so wish you could bottle up some of your energy and enthusiasm and send it my way. I love your attitude! Got a long conference call today, so I might be on more than usual during the day today... :)

Steffie - you go girl! Get some sewing done while you can't snuggle the baby - that way you are at least still having some fun and being productive. I know it is hard not to snuggle her, but it is just for the short time each treatment. Prayers being said daily for you and your family.

I have the house to myself for a couple of days - just me and the dog. My DH and DS are at NIU for orientation. I am so proud of him- he is a really good kid. Need to get my swap projects finished. Should be able to do that tonight. Also have a quilt show in town this weekend. Need to get off of here and go to work... :) Lisa

Very chilly good morning to all. It was a mere 34* when I woke up this morning. It has warmed up to a whopping 36* I thought spring was here at last..but ....nope! :( We ended up with at least 5 inches of rain. The guys are going to go out and gather up some wood so I can get a fire going in the wood stove to heat the front room. It is not vented to heat with the furnace like the rest of the house. ET got quite cold last night out in his tent so he will sleep on the sofa tonight but I need to have a fire going. Plus MonkeyButt and her kittens are out there and I want to keep them warm. Just need more wood.

Daniel wanted me to get some planting done, but I am glad now that I didn't. It is just to cold to plant.

Going to be a pretty lazy day here, we are just sitting around watching old westerns, I think I might make the guys a cake today..but I may be just too lazy. LOL

Have a great day. Hugs and Prayers to all.

Good Morning Everyone. Tough day for me but I wanted to check in and try and change my mood with all you lovely people. Blondie has spring fever! NC is so beautiful in the spring. My dogwoods, azaleas, tulips and irises are in bloom now. Those flowers coming off of the bradford pears kill my sinuses every year. Still waiting on the roses, hydrangeas, gardenias and peony's to bloom. My sons favorites are the azaleas and he is loving it. I still want to try lilacs again here one more time and see if I can get them to grow here.
Jean you are so right about the cardboard cutting mats. I have my gramma's and it's over 50 years old and I still use it.
Steffie - {{{HUGS}}} Prayers are always coming your way
Monique - I think they stopped giving meds for sinuses because people were selling them and using them to make harder drugs. That's why when you go to the drug store and get certain sinus medicine (over the counter) that you have to give your drivers license and sign your life away. Law enforcement is keeping track of who is buying and how much they are buying. Today's world is so much different.
Have a blessed day everyone

Blondie: Spring is starting to spring here so I might even plant my new apple tree tomorrow. Today I am relaxing and enjoying my hubby and son on their vacation day together.

Steffie: Hang in there and please know you are always in my prayers.

Pam: That is wonderful.

Jean: Just lay low until Monday, sounds like a good plan.

My mother and I took my son and GD to the circus yesterday. It was fun but a very long day. The kids were angels. We had a lot of fun and Kora rode and Elephant. Peter didn't want to because he said it was too high.

I think a day to relax at home with the family is just what I need.

Have a wonderful day and prayer to all who need them.

I've surfaced from my sewing spree.. woke up and had to use the latest fabric from M* for the tumbling Charm quilt.. It's beautiful, if I do say so, myself. All blues and white.. Using the more expensive fabrics are spoiling me and I've been Oh So careful.. ironed every seam, starched (I never starch) and never let any of it touch the floor...nor let the cats lay on it!!!!

Whee, I is tired, but oh, so happy. Blondie's Giddiness is catching. Now for some food and shower.. I feel like I've been in a marathon.
