The above hugs is for all the Monday blues you may have . . .

Hello Folksies!

That's right, it's Monday! Oh how I love Mondays, let me count the ways . . .
1. it is MY day
2. it is the day I do nothing; nada; nichts; rien; absolutely, positively, a wonderful day on my calendar!
3. it is MY day
4. I only answer the phone if it is Moms or Luscious
5. it is MY day

And who cares if it is raining yet again this morning. It is after all, Monday. My day. At least that is what I am telling myself this morning.

In reality, I will go down The Hill to check on Mom. We have an appt with the retina specialist in the early a.m. tomorrow and I do not believe she will be going. I can't imagine her cough subsiding long enough for any laser work. Scarey thought, that.

Other than that I have no plans to do anything but sew, listen to music while I clean the bathrooms and mop. Dinner will be leftover pork loin turned bbq, coleslaw, and sweet taters. mmmm.

Later folksies. I will pop in and out during the day. Be smart, play nice and smile lots.

Happy Day friends!!! I'm hoping to get some more done on the quilting for my daughter's quilt. I'm getting closer to starting the applique. I hope it turns out the way I envision it! Cleaning bathrooms, Blondie? Yuck! One of my least favorite chores. Fortunately, I got this flat whipped into shape right before Joe got home from his business meetings in Norway. The project he's been working on has finally been accepted. He won't let me brag to Our friends so I'm going to brag to MY friends here. I am so incredibly proud of him. He has managed to develop a very complicated system that will increase productivity for the largest gas processing plant in the world. It is a major accomplishment in his career. I am in awe of the brain he carries around in that head of his. We're talking tens of thousands of equations in this project! Okay. I'm done bragging. Thanks for listening.

Blondie, sending hugs your way too. I have been waiting for you today. I have been up since 3. Hubby got up and woke me up, unintentionally, and I could not get back to sleep.

Rebecca, congratulations to your husband. No wonder you are so proud.

It's Monday indeed and I am not answering the phone if I get a call to work. Nope, not today. I need to get groceries TODAY! and there are things that need to get done here. We are expecting a blast of winter tonight into tomorrow.

I got into my sewing room and was straightening it a bit. I thought I had a little box of hexies that I wanted to send to Lonna, but do you think I can find them. Nooooooo.

My baby went home yesterday. I had a wonderful week with her but it was time to go home. I love her dearly. Can you tell?

So that is about it for me today. Have a wonderful day everyone.

Well, Rebecca, I am in awe right along with you! You should be very proud of this talented, gifted man.
I am leaving the computer room at the moment, since the potty and tub need a good scouring. Yeah, yuck!

Good morning! We're having thunderstorms this morning...I hope none of them get severe. DH and I bought electrical supplies for the sewing studio yesterday. Maybe with the rain DH can finish the electric hook-up and install a light switch. When it's dry enough for farming or fencing, this type of work will come to a screeching halt.

I'm counting down Mondays toward retirement. Counting today I have 20 more Mondays to report to work.

Rebecca, you can be very proud of Joe! That's a wonderful accomplishment!

Time to get moving and get ready for work. Hope everyone has a great day.

Good Morning..

Enjoy your day, Blondie. Jeff will be over for dinner with you this evening...that's our kind of food. I hope Mom gets better soon. It's something that has to run it's course evidently.

The last time I said I was geting well I got blasted...but I am starting to feel better. Two more days of meds and now that I don't cough non-stop maybe I can finally get some extra rest. I have to see the doc late this afternoon. My plans for today don't go beyond my bed with Miss Molly close by my side and lots of TV.

Monique, glad you had such a good time with your sweet DGD! My grandkids used to just wear me out with all their energy and activities. They're both adults now .

We had electrical storms last evening and all night. DH unplugged the computer but forgot to unplug Lola. Fortunately Lola's okay. He wouldn't love buying me another new Janome!

Rebecca, you should be extremely proud of Joe!

I guess I will wander off here and check out a few posts...I'm so behind.

Wishing everyone a good Monday with hugs, Bdarb

Good morning to all........Rebecca.......congrats to you husband on such an accomplishment. Barb...glad to hear you are behaving yourself. This weekend my mom & I went garage sale shopping & I found a Brother VX950 sewing machine.......for $10! It has over 20 stitches & weighs a ton. I was told it worked & that it is about 20 years old.........so I hope it does.......haven't played with it yet. Are any of you familiar with that model.............is it a good machine? I found owners manual online.

This week I will be busy.........huge book sale is this coming weekend. Going to help sort, what we hope will be the last of the donations today......which is a room full. Fortunately, we have a high school soccer team that moves all the boxes to the gym for us. Set up will be Wed. & Thurs. and the sale is Fri. - Sun.

My family (my mom's side) is also having a family reunion this Saturday. Looking forward to seeing cousins I haven't seen in awhile.....lots of laughing & hugs ahead!

Hope each of you have a great week!

Blondie & Monique....enjoy your "me" day!
Rebecca....congrats to your hubby! That is a huge accomplishment.
Myrna.....I would be doing the countdown too!!
Mary....don't work too hard :)

I didn't know if I was going to be driving on ice or what this morning. The news sure does embelish things....the only thing that was icy this morning was my car. Now that I'm at work - I think it will be an easy day...the boss called off today and the lady that does the major portion of my payroll isn't here...so that won't get done until tomorrow. What to do with myself all day?? :icon_whistle:

I think I'm going to work on my maple leaf quilt tonight. I will probably alternate days for the maple leaf and the butterfly swap so I can get them both finished up soon.

Well off to check the daily deal and my bank account balance. Might need to order some more fabric.

Have a wonderful day!!! Prayers to those in need and hugs to all!

Good morning, all...especially you, Blondie! Hope you enjoy "Mon-day" and celebrate some leisure!
Praying for your mom and even the wisdom of tomorrow's appt.

My Monday is errands and doctor's appts. High hopes for eye check-up.
And then, off for blood work as doctors puzzle over recurring blood clots. Ugh. No worries. I feel great and just took a long 37 hour flight home with no problems, but they tell me my leg is a walking time-bomb. Funny, I always want to comment on that..."aren't we all since we have no guarantee of tomorrow?", but I don't think they would appreciate my thoughts of their immortality and readiness. Hmmm!
Anyway...dear friends, have a blessed day and enjoy the variety of activities!
love, Debi

Blondie: I don't consider cleaning part of a me day. We are all so different. Have a great day
Monique: I am glad you had such a good week with your granddaughter and sorry you are missing her so bad.
Rebecca: congratulations for your hubby and you have the right to be proud and shout it out loud right here!
Myrna: 20 Monday's, what an accomplishment

Bubby: I want to keep hearing that you are feeling better and better.

We are expecting a snow storm tonight. Yes I said snow storm. 6-10 inches. We had robins in our yard yesterday, we have buds starting on our trees. I have lost hope of having our daffodils for our anniversary because they are not even popping through the ground right now. I hope that this is the last storm of the year. I don't like mopping the floor 5 times a day but would prefer that to shoveling. My son and hubby better get a snow day out of this.

I am heating up my sewing room, whoever owned this house before us removed the radiator. So I heat it with an electric one when I use the room. It is taking forever this morning because I keep the door closed when I am not in there and it was only 16 degrees at 6:30 this morning.

I love to see photos off what people make. I finished some totes that turned out horrible yesterday. I have one more to finish up and then I will post them. I am expecting kindness and support but I know how ugly they truly are!

Have a blessed day to all.

Good Morning All, Day isn't starting off well, think I need another cup of coffee to get myself going. My Monday plan is to spend time sewing with breaks for a bit of cleaning, then sewing again until it's time to cook something for dinner. Like Blonide I have a bathroom cleanup on my list - just the one upstairs as it's near my sewing room and gives me the opportunity to get up and walk a bit between sewing sessions. DH will be spending the afternoon at the photo lab at school. He will be developing the photos he took while I was fabric shopping in Lancaster and should have them ready to hand in at his class Wednesday evening. We often combine our hobby interests when we go somewhere - he even checks out fabric shops while making vacation arrangments. That way I can drop him off to play golf and I can go fabric shopping.

Feel better Bubby and Kudos to Rebecca's DH. May

Good morning .I did get my two mile walk in rain and all. I see a lot of robins out looking for worms.
I hope the temp don't drop anymore. It is 34 now just above the freezing mark. Anyway I can see flowers sprouting up and the birds were singing early this morning. So that is a good sign.
Some one sent me an e mail saying this month there are 5 Sundays, 5 Fridays and 5 Saturdays this month. And that won't happen again in my life time.
Well my wish is for all to have a great week. God Bless

Great to see you here - I've been missing you. Mom used to tell us "Whenever the good Lord wants you . . . "

Li'l Sis and I spent the day together last Wednesday and were talking about Mom. She said a friend of hers had made the comment that she (Li'l Sis) didn't seem to be grieving Mom's passing . . . and when she finished saying this we said almost simultaneously "But we've been grieving her passing for the last 20 years. We know she's in a better place."

Take care of that leg anyway, ya hear?

Haven't I already explained to you why I enjoy knowing you? Thanks for the link. Remember folks - the wacky ones out there quite frequently rake in lots of moola for coming up with these crazy items. Anyone want to jpin in on marketing a Mr. Hot Dog - sort of a smaller rendition of Mr. Potato Head - complete with everything except real hot dogs? Let's see, how would this end look with stick-on eyebrows?

Ann, I get one or two of those e-mails just about every week - it will happen again. How do they know how long you are going to be around?

But, it came off the internet and I believe it . . . everything on the internet is true.

I had a humongous flock of robins in my yard one day last week - there were hundreds of them. We're cold here, too - but just a light drizzle of rain. It was supposed to snow - according to something on the internet . . .

HUGS to all.

It's raining here right now. Must have been icy when DH left because the bag of salt is out. It wasn't raining when i came home from work a couple hours earlier. We are supposed to get freezing rain, then snow and back to rain. Should be a fun day.
I still have a bit of work to do on my little quilt so i can stay warm and snug for a while. The quilt expo will be in the area this weekend and I'm probably going.

Good Morning Everyone. I'm having a blah it's Monday morning type of day. I hope I get the backing to the quilt I'm working on done tonight, but it's not looking like that is going to happen :(

Blondie - I think my idea of a me day is totally different than yours lol. Cleaning bathrooms and mop - YUCK. Hope your mom feels better.
Rebecca - You should be proud :) We all are.
Monique - LOL I think my mom feels the same way when I leave. I'll be heading North Thursday for a wedding this weekend and I'll be staying with my mom. I'm sure she will be happy to see me go on Monday :)
Myrna - Hope your DH gets the electrical work done in your studio & I wish I only had 20 more Mondays :)
Buddy - Glad you are feeling better and pray you continue to get better hugs
Mary - Me Too!

Still fighting with computer and internet connections....now my mouse likes to travel all over the screen...what's up with that! I finished a set of mug rugs that were ordered and paid for...taking them with me to work to deliver...made out of fabric that looks like zebra...had fun quilting on some of the white lines...made for an interesting back. Today is my long day at work, cough is hanging on; another week of meds and I should hopefully be done with them!
Started on my scraps to cut them up.....thanks so much for however posted about the JT ShapeCutter ruler...it is a time saver...still have lots to go...
Enjoy your "me" day today Blondie and hope your Mom gets better soon.
Rebecca I would be bragging as well...kudos to Joe
Barb, glad you are staying in bed and hope the Doc appointment goes well
As for all the others hope your day goes well

Poking my head back in - because I can - and say it's time to do a happy dance, y'all. I have a clean bathroom - my sinuses are working again since I can smell the bleach.

Barb, I am glad you are on the mend but am ready to hear the last of that cough. Mom's retina appt was rescheduled for next week, so we shall see how her cough is doing then. Please take it easy.

Debi! My baby sistah! So very good to have you home with us; you know how much I appreciate our kinship. Pay attention to that leg. Can't they break it up and dissolve it? do it! I am a firm believer that none of us leave this planet until we hear that irressitible calling of our name from the Lord, but, don't hurry it. You know as well as I do that you have many more fish to fry.

Everyone else, and that means YOU, continue to give and receive smiles today, find someone to say or do something nice to, even if it is to yourself in mirror. I tell you it works almost as good as a lifestyle lift.

Blessings to all

Good Morning. It isn't too easy to type this morning...I am sitting here with MonkeyButt laying across my arms and Gator sitting as close to my elbow as he can get! It's a great morning!!!!!!

Spent the weekend cleaning but still have a long way to go before I feel like my Spring cleaning is done. I took some time yesterday and watched a few of the disks of Jenny's tutorials that Shirley (buckeyequilter) had made and sent to me. They are great. I still have a few more to watch, but when I don't have the computer it still gives me a connection to you all in a way.

Barb...I hope the doctor believes you are on the mend and will not make you go in the hospital. I will continue my prayers for you.

No plans for today.. never make plans on the Monday after DH has a gun show. He is always to pooped to do anything. So we just take it easy all day.

Have a great day.

Just checking in. The gal that wanted me to help her clean & organize her place finally called back after rescheduling all last week. Grr! So I'll get to go see what kind of a mess this place is really in.

No big plans for today other than that. Hubby was going to make me dinner for my birthday, but he found out that the ingredients for the recipe were going to be 2/3 of our grocery budget, and changed his mind. Blondie's BBQ sounds good and I think there is a rack of ribs or a quarter of a turkey that hubby smoked still in the freezer. I'll pull one of those out, a container of smoked baked beans and make some cornbread. That will suit me just fine. When Emily comes home from school she can help me make a batch of cupcakes for dessert.

You all have a great day. I'm off to grab a cup coffee and hit the road!

Doing my check in with ya all. It's good to meet up and see how everyone is fairing during these last dismal Days of Winter. It's doing a misty rain thing here.. good enough to have muddy paw prints all over my clean floors. Ahh, this too shall pass. I'm enjoying the birds and squirrels that come to the feeders DD#2 put out. Lots of Cardinals and sparrows. (gram called them Barn Swallows) I still don't know the difference.

The Squirrels run in, the dogs run out and the noise begins... they bark back and forth. Poor dogs don't stand a chance of catching the older, adult squirrels, but they have caught a few young ones!!

I'm being lazy today, also. Just gotta clean up ME and fix a meal for tonight. Other than that, you'll find me in the sewing room.
Blessings going out to all and prayers too. The Lord has made this Day.. enjoy and give thanks.

I'm very ready for Spring! Time to get gas for the grill, break out the brats and dogs or burgers and kick off the season right!

Time to get my menu for Easter set, and my shopping list for that and any treats I'll be giving the kids and the grandkids too!

Well my Monday started really well .
Took my 86 year old mum ( Millie ) to a garden centre for breakfast ( pouring with rain as well )
Then onto the farm butcher for some inch thick pork chops and inch thick lamb butterfly chops ( to yummy to even describe ) ...Also got some sausages named Corporal Jones , lol , an old war recipe apparently containing milk powder , hmmm
Then off into Southampton to choose some backing fabric . ..
Then .. on the way home got seduced by an ice cream parlor , Oh my days it was total heaven . ( now my mouth is watering )
Took a nap for an hour with the cat curled up against my belly
Then my phone rings
My mums neighbor was found unresponsive by his wife , beside the bed, on the floor. My mum bless her , toddles round there and after calling the ambulance , the pair of them decide to try and resuscitate him ..
Now .. Both these ladies have had knee replacements so cannot kneel ( you know where im going with this ) So the wife thinks its ok to compress him with her foot ..Mum says its in the wrong place and uses her foot ..Both of them still have their slippers on ..
The ambulance arrives ( imagine what those paramedics see ) Both women are now taking turns to step on his chest ..
Turns out he had been dead for an hour or so as he was kinda stiff mum said ..
I really know i should not laugh but geesh can you imagine that scene ? The look on the paramedics faces must have been a picture !
The man who died was a sweet old chap who had Parkinsons which had progressed dramatically in the last month or so , so his wife said it was a blessing really ..
All in all an odd Monday ..

Planned to do some quilting this afternoon after DH's rehab, but had the 3 yr. old grandson here for a few hours. He is such a cutie patooty, but he wears me out! I'll get back at the quilt after dinner.
Blondie: how long would it realistically take someone to quilt 6 8" circles using the Perle cotton? At the rate I am going baby Sam will be walking by the time I get it done.
Taking the pup to the vet tomorrow morning for annual exam and shots. Should be a fun trip, since she likes to help drive the car, so one of has to sit with her in the back seat. I really need one of those seperater things that go from ceiling to floor so she stays in the back seat.
Mindy, I know it isn't funny when someone dies, but your story cracked me up. I could just picture those two ladies trying to revive the poor man. Sorry to hear of his passing, however.
