A couple of years ago me and my sister decided to exchange quilt blocks to have a quilt from one another. Towards the end of this journey she insisted she send my blocks back to me after she had put the quilt together. I didn't want it that way because I wanted to keep her blocks for me to make a quilt from her. Well she insisted. When I get the quilt in the mail (she is in Michigan I am in Ky) I was immediately struck by how much it looked like the pillows my mom (her step mom) used to make years ago with the ruffles and lace surrounding my blocks. This is why she insisted on sending it back to me. She had used the very ruffles and lace my mom had given her years and years ago to put around my blocks. When I read this in an e-mail I receive the day I got the quilt I cried and cried as my mom passed away 5 years ago. My mother is the reason I love to sew. I have 5 other sisters and me and Barb are the only ones who love to quilt. I think people who sew are unique people with big hearts that are incredibly tallented. I just thought I would share a bit of that specialness with you guys. Please post what you think of my/our quilt. Thanks for reading my post.!!
