You know how things always happen for a reason? This afternoon I had an appointment two towns over, so it was a little bit of a drive. When I got there I parked on the street, turned off the car and went to get out. The door would not open. I tried the passenger side door. It wouldn't open, either. Neither would the back doors. Now, someone with claustrophobia should not be locked inside of a car! Finally I was able to get one of the windows to go down and I climbed out that way. (Not a pretty sight I'm sure!) I called DH to come and help me. When he came the doors all opened just fine, no problem at all. He may have thought I was nuts, I don't know. He's too nice to say.
While we were standing on the sidewalk a bit away from the car, we both suddenly saw that there was gas steadily leaking from under the car onto the pavement. Not only would I have driven the car home like that, but DH and our youngest son were going to take that car into Boston tonight for a concert. They surely would have run out of gas in city traffic, or worse. I don't like to think of what else might have happened with a situation like that.
Thanks, God, for locking me in my car this afternoon!
