    Update on my brother....

The prayers are working! My brother's name is Ron...if you want to put a name with him

He looks so much better. The swelling is gone from his face (his hands are still swollen some) and his color is pretty much normal. He is not out of the woods by a long shot but he is improving, slowly. They were trying to bring him out of the sedation some today. He opened his eyes a couple of times. They have taken the restraints off his arms. His vitals are looking better.

I noticed everyone stands around his room either looking at him or talking to each other. Tonight I was talking to him, we live in the same town and I was telling him we went to his favorite bar to get a pizza and people were asking about him - I told him the names. I don't know if he could hear me or not...but at least it made me feel better.

Please continue to pray for his recovery. Thank you all so much

That is good news, and now we have a name to put in our prayers (who knows it could help!) and you can also tell him how many of your forum friends are rooting for him! ((HUGS))

I am so glad to hear this! Please by all means talk to him. He needs as much of that as he can get. I've been through this twice with my daddy. They respond so much better with touch and talking. It speeds up the healing process. Even if you sit and read a book to him. The familiar voices will help him. Make sure when someone walks into the room they speak to him and touch his hand. It will make a difference! Hugs to you and your family.

I totally agree with Donna, you would be surprised at what they can hear and remember later...so everyone needs to keep that in mind; especially as they are bringing him up slowly from sedation......while he may have trouble moving he will probably hear everything....touch and talking to him (not about him) will help tremendously! You are on the right path, touch him often, hold his hand if you can, tell him anything that you can think of! Just so he hears you speaking to him, someone wants to discuss what is going on; go out into the hall where he can't hear...he needs lots of positive reinforcement, doesn't need to hear any negatives!

They told us he won't remember anything because they put "amnesia" type meds in him. I told his daughters that might be a good thing
