Good Morning Folksies! Welcome Monday. Oh Boy! only two weeks until Christmas! Oh Joy!
Leaving early this morning to carry Moms to the eye specialist. Her BP has been really running high and I am certain she has popped another vessel. Docs have been having a difficult time getting the right meds for her. She's been on BP meds forever and all of this started after Daddy passed. hmmm.

Spent all day with Mom on Sat. Came home for a bit and went back down to her house for the evening and most of the day yesterday. We had some wrapping of gifts to do, some pre Christmas baking, etc.

You know, I know I don't live in the only town where freaks parade around. However, I am always surprised that in a town the size of mine that these people are out in the daylight hours. Take yesterday for example. I ran to the grocery store to get a few things for Mom. There was this very very tall lady with a definite 5 oclock shadow, blonde wig and the nastiest elbows I've ever seen on a woman. All of this poured in a pretty dress that I could've never found in my size. The cashier's face was stunned amazement at this gal's perky smile and grubby fingernails. The cashier and I became fast friends after she left. The trauma was just too much; I believe we bonded like superglue.

Got to go; will try to get caught up later. Why is it that every time I skip a day, that seems to be the day y'all yak the most? hahaha

Happy day to each, prayers for all and of course, SMILE! It's the best makeup in anyone's bag.

I lived in a small town for 8 years, and I always felt those you ran into at night were completely different than those you saw in daylight. So, I can relate to your surprise at seeing that person during daylight hours! Never saw that kind of sight in my years there, but saw plenty of other scary sights. Mostly they were just very poor souls, and what was most upsetting was to see the kids, who showed a great many signs of poverty, gaunt faces, no shoes, unclean bodies and clothes. You wished you could help them all.

On a lighter note, I've been having a blast making those fabric rope bowls. Made 7 since Wednesday, every one is a learning experience ad they all turn out pretty! I'm going to load them up with Christmas goodies, or personal products, wrap in cellophane and put a big bow on them, and off they go!

Have a great day!

Morning ladies.Blondie I hope you mom gets her BP and eye problems figured out soon. As far as the weirdo at the grocery unfortunatly it happens more and more in today's world.Blame it on today's economy or just plain ol stupidity if you ask me.Most young people say " I wanna be an individual." yea you are that for sure. Stick out like a sore thumb.
Jean your gonna have to change your name again to "Jean Jean the bowl making machine!" sounds like your hooked. Sounds like a great gift too. Yall have a great day. It's off to work I go.Just 7 more work days and I will be off for 2 weeks. Yee Haw!!
Hugs from Ky.

Good morning! I haven't run across anyone like Blondie described in my small town...yet. With the way society is changing (and not always for the better) that could change at any time. It's back to work Monday and it's raining...just like it rained all weekend. I'm ready for the sunshine that's forecasted for tomorrow and the rest of the week.

Good morning friends. Blondie, I hope they get your Mom back on track.

I had a beautiful weekend. I spent it with son #2 and family. Lots of baby kisses and hugs. Sadie and I made cookies on Saturday. Maizyn helped a little too. Grand doggy is cute. Thank God she is a tiny dog. It rained all day Saturday so I could not take the kids outside. Sucks. I did take them out for a short walk yesterday. It was a lot colder. It had snowed here at home. Now this morning, we have had snow and apparently it is freezing rain now. OH GEEZ! I have to go to work and I have no choice. Well I will just leave early and take my time. I will stay there during the closed hours 11:30-2:30. I will bring lots to keep me busy.

Have a wonderful day friends. Stay safe.

Good Morning!

Check one more gift of of the list with the assistance of a late-nighter. Now I'll head to bed, grab a few hours sleep and get on to the next thing on the list later today. After the getting Miss Priss off to school routine.

I'm hoping it's just the poly-fil, but my nose and throat are sore. You know, way in the back where they meet. Ugh. If it's still skritchy after I get up, I'll have to find something for it. If I don't jump on it right away, sinus infection - here I come.

I'll catch up with you all again later! Until then, have a great start to your day!
Hugs, Cathy

Cathy, it may be from pulling an all nighter...happens to me whenever I do that....throat feels icky and sinus drains....after some sleep it seems to go away until I do it again! Hopefully that is the case with you.
Steve was home for a little over 24 hrs and is back on the road again! Will be home over Christmas and gone again the day after....
Spoke with my nephew last night....I have a one week extension on my project and oh, by the way, the count has jumped from 15 to 23! Needless to say, there are going to be a lot of pillowcased small quilts with a few quilting lines...Steve and I cut up the fabric and backing and batting last night...so just have to finish them up...marathon sewing this week, have until Sunday and still have to work both jobs! Should be an interesting week, no pressure! LOL! Now you know why I am up so early, have to get cracking! Hugs and prayers to all in need!

Good Morning,

Blondie, I hope the doctor can give Moms the right meds this time. Monique, be careful out there on the ice. We woke up to a much colder morning today. DH changed his jacket for something heavier. It looks like winter is here at last. We were so enjoying the warmer temps.

I'm not sure what I will do today. I know I have to do some laundry, but after that I may have to go to the fabric store and see if they have anything I can't live without. It's a little early for me to start holiday baking. If I bake too early there's nothing left the week of Christmas for those who drop by. DH just can't stay out of the goodies!

I wish everyone an exceptional Monday...stay safe and well. Hugs, Barb

Good morning....

Well back to work for me, sure hope the week moves right along.

I saw a guy at the county fair once and he had on a beautiful dress....I was jealous. DH made rude comments about him - I think he was jealous too LOL

I brought one of the Christmas ornaments with me today, to work on at lunch. I decided if I am going to get stuff done I need to take advantage of every spare minute. The week-end will be busy....decorating, baking, wrapping gifts and hopefully a little Christmas sewing. I want to make one of those round toppers that Jenny made.

I only have 1 more gift that I have to buy and then I'm finished YEAH!!! I will probably pick up small things and put in the grandkids stockings but that is just when I happen to be somewhere and see something small they might like.

Have a wonderful day, prayers and hugs to all!

Good Morning everyone. Too dark out to tell what kind of day might be in store. I do know our high is only suppose to be around 36*F. Brrrrrrrr. I will have that wood stove cranking out the heat today! Had a fitful nights sleep with a few really weird dreams. Would love to still be under the covers but I needed to get up and let the dogs go out.

Blondie, I pray your mother gets her blood pressure under control soon. But please use you car and drive her to the Doctor, don't carry her or you might hurt yourself.

I have not made any Christmas Cookies yet. We will be heading to town tomorrow and I plan on getting me some Eggnog so I can make my favorite Eggnog Cookies. I may even be able to get some clothesline to make some bowls. Don't know if I will get any styrofoam balls and pins though. I'll have to wait and see.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day. Hugs and prayers to all.

Good Morning All :)
I had errands to run this morning but with the freezing rain and flash freeze, I decided to put it off till later in the day. I figure if the school buses are cancelled, (having driven a school bus at one time, my day was more relaxed when the buses were cancelled) that I would enjoy a leisurely morning of tea and the forum and let all those people who HAVE to be somewhere get to their destination first and reduce my risk.

Besides, I have sewing to do. LOL.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.
Namaste,
Koda

I'm getting out the front door early this morning to get last gifts on my list as I need to mail 3 boxes to CA this week. Son Pat & wife MJ were over yesterday for lunch which was a big pot of sausage lentil soup from a bag of mix I've had for awhile. I thought soup was just OK and a little bland but they liked it enough to take a quart home with them. Pat brought 2 loaves of Italian bread and they took half of the leftover loaf with them. Other half of bread and soup will our dinner tonight, think the soup might taste better the 2nd day. Later, May

Blondie, you take such good care of your Mom, hope all goes well with doctors today.

Babs, Great photo of you and the girls. DD's decorations are so elegant looking.

Blondie, you are an exceptional daughter. The world needs more goodness and people like you! Cathy, hope you aren't coming down with something. Must get some good sleep to help ward off those germs!!!

Barb.....you are one of the 4 beautiful women in that picture! love your outfit, too. And your daughter does do a great job at decorating. Are those your ornaments? great job! I enlarged the pictures and am glad as they both are filled with beauty.

Jean, jean, the bowl making machine. Just like Rhonda said. You go, Girl!

Have a great day everyone. Stay safe out there.

Guess who? Sure hoping Momma's eye exam goes well and that a day of shopping and touchy-feely brings her blood pressure under control. Speaking of eyes - FINALLY got my new glasses for distance and it is truly amazing what I've been missing lately.

Started working on some little stocking stuffers for the kids yesterday, finished a Lotus bowl/bag for DD. I was going to start making a bunch of those microwave hot pads but found that my batting was the wrong kind. Drats. We're not planning on a tremendous offering this Christmas - usually get the kids their season/yearly pass to Science City and the KC Zoo. No bunches of trinkets this year - only a couple stuffers for the stockings. Al and I don't exchange gifts. The girls still have some things they want to make for each other and I need to find time when I can have them here. And DSIL is one of those who is almost impossible to buy for - unless I can find an old pick-up body for free.

Going to be working tomorrow - I was reminded a couple times that it is "HARD" work. Hope I'm up to it.

So, the usual stuff here - prayers, warm wishes, hugs, and lots and lots of stitching time to all of you!

Morning! I stayed away till I did some quilt blocks! Good for me, but a bit of a break from the machine... I had to located about 6 inches of fabric to finish off the blocks, but I found it... so...now a bunch of ironing, squaring up, and then putting the blocks together (all nine squares are made for each, but I need to now assemble them....)

I know you are all going to be as excited as me to see the completed effort after tomorrow nights unveiling!!!

.....Have a great one, everybody... hugs and good thoughts

(Late) morning all. Just popping in to say 'hi' and check on everyone. Yesterday's message at church ended with 'what is in competition for your spouse's attention when you're home together'. Unfortunately, it is this black screen and keyboard in my lap! It's the competition for everything in my life!!! So, on that note, I'm saying 'hi' and getting off here and TRYING to get my lazy bottom out of the chair and on to something more productive. Of course, keeping up with friends is very productive. Love and hugs to all. Have a happy Monday.

HI everyone,
A day of rain here and it is going to get cold after the rain clears out, Winter is finally here.
I hope everyone is safe and gets what they need from doctors and stores.
I am going to the dentist, my bridge replacement is here and I sure have missed it. I can't keep my tongue out of that hole. I think I will try to do a bit of Christmas shopping after that, when I get out it is hard to get me back home.:icon_wave:

I am gonna try to get some more wrapping done, and possibly work on the GD's totes for their teachers. I did get a few ornaments made this week end. Becki, I can totally relate. DH has already started his attention seeking the minute my feet hit the floor. UGHH, do not feel up to baby sitting him today. Well off to check the other posts, and try to do something, anything constructive today. Hugs and blessings to all. Prayers for those in need, and the world in general.

I'm back! Didn't quite leave as early as I planned to go shopping but I did get everything I wanted at Kohl's, long slinky scrafs for teen aged & 20 yr old DGDaughters that I'll put with their gift cards. Also found nice fleece shirt with stand up collar for DH whose back of the neck is always cold. Came in XL Tall too which is good as his pot has gotten bigger and his regular length shirts have a hard time meeting his waistband, LOL! Happy that there was 20% off everything, don't think I've ever bought anything at Kohl's at regular price.

Wanted to begin make rainbow cookies tonight but haven't been able to find an important ingredient, Solo almond filling, at local supermarkets. Tried a market I rarely shop at and got lucky as they had 2 cans left. Found Bailey's Irish Breakfast tea there, a good thing to put with DS#2 and his wife's Shamrock mugs. All in all it has been a good shopping morning and now I'm tired and in need of a nap.

I'm busy getting ready for my 12 party! Ofcourse it's on this Wednesday, 12-12-12! I have a crowd coming for lunch. Do you realize it will be another century before another 12-12-12 arrives? It's a crazy thing to have a party for, but I have thought about it since
11-11-11!! Besides, the number 12 has some interesting facts! Sooooo--HAPPY 12 to everyone!
