We're in shock - DD and DSIL went to her OB doc this morning and they did an ultrasound - SHE'S STILL PREGNANT. After two huge clots and copious bleeding, what was she to suspect? Doc says probably one of two things - either breakthrough bleeding or, rare but possible, she was pregnant with fraternal twins and aborted one.

He has done more blood work, and has cautioned her to be EXTREMELY inactive . . . even though the ultrasound shows the baby to be extremely active.

Anyone want to borrow some kids for several months? This old lady is probably going to be totally fried by the time this baby gets here.

OMG! How wonderful can that be and a miracle as well! After Kat's call - I'm crying like crazy right now with your wonderful news! This is great! I know you will be tired but this is just great, just great! :)

You make sure that DD takes it easy, have the older ones take care of the younger ones. Mama needs her rest, there has to be a boy in there. Stirring up a mess! hehe

Hugs all the way around that huge family of yours! Love, Ruby and Don OMG I got to go call him - He was all upset after I called him with Kat's news, he won't be home until Friday night. He's going to flip when I tell him your news. :D

I wish I could take some of the girls for a bit, but that can't happen for now. Momma will have to be diligent with her rest and taking care of that miracle baby she is cooking! The bigger girls will have to step up and the little ones will have to behave! Grandma will be exhausted and yet, think of the adventures and fun you will be having with those grands! This too shall pass! What a blessing! Give momma a big book of baby names......this little guy???? needs a special name!!!!

That's wonderful Sandy. My DIL is 11 weeks. She had a miscarriage last year. They found out she has antibodies in her blood and sees a specialist this Thursday. We are praying all goes well. They want a baby so bad

Sandy I am in shock as you are too I would imagine. A friend of mine was pregnant with fraternal twins and lost one, so yes that is very possible. I know you will be busy and I know you will love every minute of it. I am so happy for all of you. Hugs and kisses to all. A true miracle baby!!

YES! So happy to hear, Sandy!
Everything happens for a reason.
Perhaps nature decided the 'crowned prince' needed a solo exit, and entrance into this world of GIRLS he will be entering!

Okay, well that was a HUGE SURPRISE! My jaw dropped when I read your post. Things happen for a reason, so I guess we will have to wait and see what this child's purpose is here on earth. Blessings to your whole family, Sandy! What a wonderful time of year to get the news too, eh?

Wow...sounds like you all had some scary times. Thankfully she and baby are ok! You are such a good Mama and Grandma. Your daughter and SIL are so lucky to have you near. And your grandchildren.....how much fun they must have with you! (It's great to be a kid at our age, isn't it?) Though I do understand about being tired after several hours of nonstop play. Too bad we couldn't bottle their energy for us oldsters! hehe Keep the faith, Friend. You are a good woman.
